[Q] Galaxy s4 i9505 & Galaxy s4 active. Camera swap - General Questions and Answers

Hi all, I've got a S4 active with 8mp camera but wondering if I purchase a 12mp camera replacement for S4 and install that on my device. Would that work?

Since I think camera and hardware button is the only 2 things thats separate these 2 devices apart. Then it would make it easy for me to port rom from a regular s4

It can't work. The shapes and flex cables of two cameras are different.

[Q] ICS to finaly bring HD video to Nexus S?

I love my Nexus S phone but it's almost the only Android phone being sold today without HD video. The camera's resolution should support 720p video (as the Galaxy S), and the problem is the lack of support for HD video by the native Android operating system.
Now, that the Galaxy Nexus will support 1080p video recording with a native Android, do you think the Nexus S will get it too?
No. our hardware is limited.

This is a question I am very interested in hearing the answer to as well. It would he nice to see HD video capabilities as well as the super fast shutter speed be provided by the OS to the Nexus S and not a hardware exclusive feature of the Galaxy Nexus.
It would also be nice if the update to ICS fixed the screen burn in on my phone caused by the notification bar.

I think it's the same camera as the Galaxy S

Have you tried fast burst camera in the market? Just until we get ICS. Works very well
Not even 720p?
i recall the nexus s not getting 720p recording due to codecs
Nexus s is not doing 720p video. It is not a limatation with the os.
Search the forum if you want a detailed reason why.
Yes. Do a search. It is a hardware limitation, not software.
Nexus s camera sensor is different than galaxy s sensor because they needed the extra space in the phone casing for the NFC hardware in our phone. The sensors are physically differant. The pics are around here some where if you search for it. It shows both camera sensors to compare.

So that means the Nexus brand will always have a lesser camera
The Nexus One had a 5MP at launch with no HD video at launch.
The Nexus S still have a 5MP camera with no HD
No, the Galaxy Nexus still have a 5MP camera when everybody else use a 8MP camera.
I can't understand why google equip their flagship phones with relatively crappy cameras

Ahh you are falling foul of the MP myth dude, MPs are a size issue so unless you are printing posters then its not the MPs but the sensor too. You could have a 12mp camera with a ****ty sensor and an 8 mp with a good one and it will take the better picture. It is also dependent on the cameraman too of course.

Someone can confirm that video mode have an image stabilisation option? Or this feature is only important for Apple?

9500 Camera speed vs S3 and Note2

Hello I have the lastest 9500 firmware, last night I was at the club with my friends and when I try to take pictures with flash take aprox. 6-8sec to focus and take it.. My friends have S3's and Note2 so they were about to take photos in 2-4 sec.
Anybody have same issue ?
or mine is slow ?
Regards,,
Yes I have too

yep there is definitely little shutter lag on GS4 compared to S3 or N2 ( maybe bcuz the higher mega pixels )
Try to use the 8MP option and you'll see no difference at all.

Basically useless. No point using flash on anything that moves.
Have found a temporary solution for the same.
Please enable anti-shake control in your camera settings. Trust me the photos are going to be taken at the speeds of the S3 at least.
Regards

I didn't notice any special change by activating anti-shake on the i9505 personally.
I tried that one before but its same... Laggy on Flash shots Today I have insalled new Taiwan based rom tonight Im gonna try it..
Hope some speed will be ..
My i9500 needs using flash 2.9" even it is in 13mp or 8.
If I touch the screen so as to make focus, capture immediately.

Request for some apps

Hi,
I would like to request the following apps for my note 3.
1) The galaxy s5 camera app
2) The ultra power saving mode
If possible, please upload them here as it would be really great to see these apps here.
Also, apart from Lenovo Camera app, are there any other camera app's that would be recommended to use apart from the note 3 stock camera app?
Cheers
Even the new the HTC One M8 Camera app is good...if someone can upload it here..it would be great..
you can look here for camera app

Camera?

1. What camera modes are available stock and what camera modes are available for download? Is dual camera (simultaneous front and back camera shot) mode available on either?
2. How is the low light motion blur? Do the subject's slightest movements still blur in low light?

Looks like there is no option for dual camera. That's a bummer. I really loved it on my Note 4.

Video collage, that could be cool....me thinks to myself out loud
Had my kid wave his hands in the T-Mobile store. S7 Blur was very limited when manually setting faster shutter speed and higher iso... looked much better than my old Note 4.
Couldn't find dual camera front + back setting anywhere in the S7. Maybe permanently discontinued or maybe S7 just not capable of doing it or maybe they'll add it to the Galaxy Apps Store later? Any other phones (Samsung or non-Samsung) besides the Note 4 that have dual camera front and back simultaneous shot?

Sony z3 does it. It is called face in picture.
