Hi guys. I need the 4.1.1 stock that I can flash on my phone so I can see if my UI lag is just a problem with 4.1.2. And also I need to know how I can do this. I have a nandroid but I don't know if my custom recovery or bootloader works with it.

Per your nandroid question, you aren't making sense. You can't do a nandroid if you don't have a custom recovery. The status of your bootloader is moot, it works fine either way since its stock, rooted firmware. Your bootloader status matters when you want to flash custom kernels or roms.
Were you looking for the bloated stock tar for Odin which removes root? Both VRBLK3 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 tars can be found in the guide by Open1your1eyes0 thread which is in the dev section. Search and you'll see it.
If you want the VRBLK3 4.1.1 rooted flashable zip for CWM/TWRP then do a search for this in the dev section cuz its fairly old. Flash it in recovery like you would any rom.

Yeah I didn't really word that to well. I needed the 4.1.1 update because I wanted to update to 4.1.2 through Keis because it is supposed to fix lag problems with S3's that came with 4.1.2 stock. I was worried that if I were to do this, it might not be compatible with my recovery. Sorry for the confusion.

Ahh ok, well I answered you in the General sticky as well. Odin flash VRBLK3 4.1.1 or VRBMB1 4.1.2 then you can take OTAs. Any time you flash a stock tar, this removes every trace of custom software except your flash counter in different download mode.

No. Installing CWM will hardbrick your phone but it will be recoverable.
What you can do though, after Saferoot, is use Safestrap then you will be able to flash only other VRUCML1 TW 4.3 roms. You will need to flash the VRUCML1 kernel modules in that thread as well, after any and every rom flash in order to have working wifi.
What if I flash a de-KNOXED TW ROM?
What if I flash a de-KNOXED TouchWiz ROM then flash a different ROM like CyanogenMod or Carbon ROM?

You can't do that, it uses a different kernel, you're limited to TouchWiz kernels only. Without it your phone will brick.

Oh :/ Thanks anyways.
That sucks. Hopefully someone from the community could figure this out. What if you rooted with Saferoot and froze KNOX? And installed a new ROM?

Knox isn't the problem, Verizon implemented the locked bootloader. Doing this only keeps your system from Detecting root access, but it really doesn't matter unless you're planning to return your phone to Verizon for warranty service.

Oh well I could care less about the warranty service. I just care about getting rid of this evil ROM.

I know, the point is you can't disable the bootloader, so you're limited to 4.3 custom TouchWiz roms using safestrap for now.

OK so when i installed the rom and ran it, i had 4g but i had no wifi. So i then flashed the kernal module and lost all 4g...should i flash it right after i flash the rom before boot?

Yup! Wipe, flash the rom, kernel modules, then boot up. Do these exact steps each time that you flash a custom VRUCML1 4.3 touchwiz (TW) rom.

It already comes with twrp preinstalled with safestrap. You can only flash TouchWiz 4.3 roms. You can change the rom slot size according to your preference but the more you use on one rom the less you'd have for any additional slots.

am i limited in roms, i don't understand what it means when you saya touchwiz rom?
can i instal any decent rom, like a cyagenmod as long as i do the kernel after?
My phone was making me really mad because it was super slow, and could barely type anymore, I did everything so I factory reset and flashed a rom.
My wifi no longer works, and I'm not sure what to do next. I just want my phone to be usable again.
I just flashed MOAR Rom, and Wifi is still not working.
If you are using Safestrap, download the VRUCML1 kernel modules from the Safestrap thread and install those when you flash a custom TouchWiz rom.

Thanks for the reply but I managed to brick it and then I got it back to stock using Odin. Now Safestrap doesn't work and I just downloaded 4.4, I always screw up stuff like this. I only have 5 months left with my phone so It doesn't really matter. Perhaps there will be a way to root on 4.4 one day.

So I'm locked and rooted with safestrap installed on 4.3. There's only a couple roms compatible with locked bootloaders so I decided to try them out. So I downloaded Alliance rom and it boots up just fine. But there's only one issue, the WiFi won't turn on. I tap the toggle, and it says on for a second, then it turns off. I have no idea why, but I've tried different kernels and roms and its the same thing. Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Go back into the Safestrap thread and download the VRUCML1 kernel modules. If you want working wifi whenever you flash a TouchWiz rom through Safestrap, you must flash these as well. These will only work if your baseband is VRUCML1 (Settings/About Phone/Baseband). If you are on VRUCNC1 then you need to Odin flash VRUCML1 tar then root and run Safestrap.

Cool, let me know how it goes. Remember, once on VRUCML1 and Safestrap, flash the rom then kernel modules. If the rom has an option for Safestrap then choose that and see if wifi works BEFORE reflashing and flashing with VRUCML1 kernel modules.

The original one I had was only 2 megabytes compared to the 19 Megabyte one I just got. In the description of Alliance rom, it says to flash the module, then the rom. I did that, chose the safestrap kernel and it reboots after 30 seconds on the rom. It keeps doing that. So then I wiped it, and tried a different kernel, which is the stock Alliance one, and it boots up and works fine, but no WiFi. I'm completely lost here, as I just got this phone 3 days ago. And I took the 4.3 update with no knowledge of the locked bootloader If you have any more suggestions, please inform me. Thanks.

Hmm, have you tried another rom like CleanRom or Mostly Stock ML1 to see if wifi works? Cuz the only two methods I know to have working wifi on Safestrap is
1) Flash rom and if it has Aroma installer, choose SafeStrap kernel option
or
2) Flash rom then flash VRUCML1 kernel modules

Aight, try another VRUCML1 based rom with your same VRUCML1 kernel modules and we'll see if its reproducible there. You may have to reboot one or two additional times after the rom boots up to check if wifi works.

Hello xda forum,
i own the before mentioned phone and recenty i tried to flash some custom roms on it but every time it wouldnt boot into system.
firstly i installed CWM with odin and rooted the phone, everything worked fine.
but after flashing any custom rom i tried (axxion, unofficial cm11, sazy and something else i think) it stops at samsung galaxy s2+ black and white screen for hours. or sometimes loops the same screen with few seconds of blank screen in between.
i flashed the stock back with odin and it worked fine, repeated cwm flashing and rooting, flashed custom rom. repeated that at least 4-5 times with same results.
my goal is to flash resurrection remix but it said
"Make sure you are either on any KitKat ROM (CM11, SlimKat, etc) or on 4.2.2 TW based ROM and NOT on 4.1.2 TW based ROM"
so i tried to flash cm11 before.
also tried the solution i found on forums (wiping dalvik cache and wiping cache numerous times, fixing permissions and all that with no luck)
i can acess CWM and download mode without problem but cant boot into system, only if i load a backup or flash a stock.
bump
anyone? pls help
im out of ideas
First of all, is ur Stock Rom 4.1.2 or 4.2.2? U can't flash cm11 or resurrection rom(or any other roms) if u have 4.1.2.

which basically means i need to flash 4.2.2. then cm11 and then resurrection?
