No. Installing CWM will hardbrick your phone but it will be recoverable.
What you can do though, after Saferoot, is use Safestrap then you will be able to flash only other VRUCML1 TW 4.3 roms. You will need to flash the VRUCML1 kernel modules in that thread as well, after any and every rom flash in order to have working wifi.
What if I flash a de-KNOXED TW ROM?
What if I flash a de-KNOXED TouchWiz ROM then flash a different ROM like CyanogenMod or Carbon ROM?

You can't do that, it uses a different kernel, you're limited to TouchWiz kernels only. Without it your phone will brick.

Oh :/ Thanks anyways.
That sucks. Hopefully someone from the community could figure this out. What if you rooted with Saferoot and froze KNOX? And installed a new ROM?

Knox isn't the problem, Verizon implemented the locked bootloader. Doing this only keeps your system from Detecting root access, but it really doesn't matter unless you're planning to return your phone to Verizon for warranty service.

I know, the point is you can't disable the bootloader, so you're limited to 4.3 custom TouchWiz roms using safestrap for now.

Yup! Wipe, flash the rom, kernel modules, then boot up. Do these exact steps each time that you flash a custom VRUCML1 4.3 touchwiz (TW) rom.

It already comes with twrp preinstalled with safestrap. You can only flash TouchWiz 4.3 roms. You can change the rom slot size according to your preference but the more you use on one rom the less you'd have for any additional slots.

Who has the VM USA Galaxy S2 variant, what did you flash and are currently running? I am curious to know what others use as daily drivers, what has worked for them, and how they went about obtaining it.
I have looked around but to no avail in the last few months have I seen a huge dev support for SPH-D710VMUB. I have successfully updated my phone to sxtp GB28 Rom w/ root and MidnightRom but have not tried CM10.1 because of rom issues and flashing confusion.
I have recently flashed CarbonRom (LOVE IT) because it was listed in MidnightRoms goomanager app under "other compatible roms". At the time I did not know it was strictly for Sprint but it took okay. Everything seems to work flawlessly except data of course (no 3G/4G therefore no MMS, GPS, etc.) I have looked at APN apps (have a thread made for that), but no luck on getting any of it to work.
Check out my thread on CarbonRom. I'm thinking of close it down since I have this one up now. It has images and links however.

If you want to recover your touchwiz nandroid coming from a CM10 based ROM or clockwork mod recovery, you will need to restore first time using CWM then when your new ROM and recovery are flashed, boot up system then go back into recovery (which should now be Agats) and restore the nandroid one more time doing this.
The reason being, CM10 CWM is not fully compatible with TW basedbased ROMs and so they won't fully restore your ROM. I figured this out myself.

It's a little complicated than that. Remember, on Samsung phones, the rom and recovery are intertwined. Meaning when you flash your ROM it will have a recovery specific to that ROM. CWM/CM10 recoveries aren't fully compatible with TouchWiz Roms. You'll need an altered version of CWM/TWRP for that.
I went and flashed GB28 rooted with Agats recovery by sxtp developers. It has a full tutorial on that page. Specific to virgin mobile. You'll need to download the drivers and software and its pretty straight forward. I'll post a link.
If you want to go from there to a CM10 based ROM afterwards, I can help you.

No. Most all of the ROMs you flash will have root access in one form or another. TW will have SuperSU and CM10, SuperUser/BusyBox most likely. So don't worry about root. And when you flash a ROM, you will be flashing its new recovery also. No, it should not mess anything up if you follow the method specific to the ROM.
Sent from my VM E4GT using Tapatalk 4
Here is what I would do: Use Odin (mobile or PC) to flash a rooted version of your stock ROM. It could have a recovery to it or not. If not, then after you flash the stock ROM, flash a compatible recovery. I used Agats for TW. Once you have that, download the CM10 zip, boot into recovery. It is advised you follow their instructions however this is how I did mine. It worked for the most part.
Once you are in agats cwm recovery, wipe data/ factory reset/cache/dalvik. Don't think you need to format, but to he safe it'd be system/cache/data (check on that). Don't format internal or you will lose everything (like backups and zips among the important). You can then flash your ROM and gapps.
Reboot, will take a little while. Then go back into recovery when you can (it should be a new recovery that came with the ROM). Do all of the same methods above for a clean install of your ROM in this new recovery. Boot, and you SHOULD be set to go. Hope this helps.

So you have the recovery flashed then. Which? Agats is for Touchwiz based ROMs not Cyanogenmod technically. Try my method. Go to sxtps website and look for GB28 w/Agats recovery. Flash a touchwiz ROM, like MidnightRom, then try CM10. (Or one of the better ROMs mentioned in this thread).

Per your nandroid question, you aren't making sense. You can't do a nandroid if you don't have a custom recovery. The status of your bootloader is moot, it works fine either way since its stock, rooted firmware. Your bootloader status matters when you want to flash custom kernels or roms.
Were you looking for the bloated stock tar for Odin which removes root? Both VRBLK3 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 tars can be found in the guide by Open1your1eyes0 thread which is in the dev section. Search and you'll see it.
If you want the VRBLK3 4.1.1 rooted flashable zip for CWM/TWRP then do a search for this in the dev section cuz its fairly old. Flash it in recovery like you would any rom.

THIS IS A CWM FLASHABLE ZIP AND DOES NOT FLASH THE SECURED BOOTLOADERS, MODEM, OR RPM FILES!!!! I just flashed it to my phone less than an hour ago so any bugs are unknown as of yet. I figured we could all test it out and any input is appreciated. I will get screen shots soon!!! Enjoy

Yes if you do flash this rom you can in fact revert to 4.1.2 or any version of android built for this phone for that matter. All this is doing is just installing a rom that has the 4.3 base. If you do decide to go back, just flash a rom thats built on any other version of android for this phone.
this is actually a better rom option with more functionality...

Go back into the Safestrap thread and download the VRUCML1 kernel modules. If you want working wifi whenever you flash a TouchWiz rom through Safestrap, you must flash these as well. These will only work if your baseband is VRUCML1 (Settings/About Phone/Baseband). If you are on VRUCNC1 then you need to Odin flash VRUCML1 tar then root and run Safestrap.

The original one I had was only 2 megabytes compared to the 19 Megabyte one I just got. In the description of Alliance rom, it says to flash the module, then the rom. I did that, chose the safestrap kernel and it reboots after 30 seconds on the rom. It keeps doing that. So then I wiped it, and tried a different kernel, which is the stock Alliance one, and it boots up and works fine, but no WiFi. I'm completely lost here, as I just got this phone 3 days ago. And I took the 4.3 update with no knowledge of the locked bootloader If you have any more suggestions, please inform me. Thanks.

Hmm, have you tried another rom like CleanRom or Mostly Stock ML1 to see if wifi works? Cuz the only two methods I know to have working wifi on Safestrap is
1) Flash rom and if it has Aroma installer, choose SafeStrap kernel option
or
2) Flash rom then flash VRUCML1 kernel modules

Aight, try another VRUCML1 based rom with your same VRUCML1 kernel modules and we'll see if its reproducible there. You may have to reboot one or two additional times after the rom boots up to check if wifi works.

Will do, CleanRom is downloading right now. I'll let you know what's up when it's installed. Thanks

Same thing with CleanRom and a fresh download of the modules. I think I might just stay with stock TW. Hopefully some miracle will happen and the bootloader will be unlockable again. Guess we'll just wait and see
