[Q] MMS, LTE, and wifi issues - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

My D2VZW has been having intermittent issues with receiving MMS and connecting to any data networks. I'm thinking it's due to me continually updating the ROM but not radio. Does this sound right? Currently I'm running CM 10.2.1 (4.3.1) on the I535VRBLK3 baseband. Anyone have any ideas on what I could/should update to? I see tons of items in the download section but have no clue on what to update to. Thanks in advance.

Flash the VRBMF1 firmware from Invisiblek's firmware thread. This will update your modem (aka baseband), tz, sbl1, sbl2 and I think one other partition to 4.1.2 VRBMF1. Most if not all 4.3 AOSP roms included code from VRBMF1. If I'm not mistaken, they recommended users to upgrade their firmware to VRBMF1 months early in the fall.

what's causing slow network speeds?

I'm running the KitKat+ ROM I found in the development section plus faux kernel, I flashed over jellybean and applied fix v2 so I'm getting no problems uninstalling apps or entering security settings. Thing is when I'm at home or even outside I get really slow network speeds of about 0.4 Mbps down, and in settings-aboutphone-status it switches between hspa and hspa+,but down the road about 350 metres at my kids school I get up to 7 Mbps down,I'm just wondering what version of the moto g is this KitKat+ rom based on,I own the UK retail version and was thinking if its based on a us version would it cause problems with connecting to a UK network or have problems with hspa+ in the UK based on what base this ROM is using, just throwing it out there.
Have you tried setting it to GSM auto (PRL) ?
My previous phone (HTC One X+) was running BlackBean rom and was set to CDMA by default, meant that i had to reset to GSM after every reboot.
I have experienced this also on a UK XT1032 running US Global GSM 4.4.2 - Data works but often slowly and stops entirely for periods of time. I had assumed it was the ROM and I'm waiting for the UK 4.4.2 stock firmware image which I expect will solve it. Perhaps unrelated, but I've noticed Opera Mini will not work over 3G in this ROM, but it works fine on Wifi.
EDIT: I was just thinking; that by fastboot flashing the Stock US firmware image, the UK modem firmware may also have been replaced. That could explain the problems. Flashing back the 4.4.2 UK modem firmware might fix it.
My Baseband version:
MSM8626BP_1032.340.63.00R
Can someone with a US Global GSM XT1032 confirm their Baseband version? Nevermind, confirmed via google. UK Tesco XT1032 running 4.4.2 also has the same Baseband version.
You could try flashing the UK stock 4.4.2 'NON-HLOS.bin' which appears to include the modem firmware. However if I remember correctly, flashing an incorrect radio firmware is one of the few ways to irrecoverably brick a handset.
Safest bet is to wait for the full UK stock 4.4.2 firmware image and fastboot flash that. In future when you flash a different ROM, i.e CM11, you are likely to use CWM/TWRP and the existing UK modem / radio firmware will remain untouched.
If someone wants to correct me on this, please do.

[Q] MODEM Baseband ML1

I cannot figure out how to get AT&T 3g network speeds for GS3 (SCH-I535). I have tried flashing my modem via Safestrap, and still I get speeds of 11 - 14Kbps for upload and download. I have tried few option posted on XDA, youtube and other sites, but no luck. Currently modem is using the ML1 firmware.
I am running MOAR 9.0 TW via safestrap. Any guidance would greatly appreciated. Thanks.

[Q] How are people upgrading to KitKat bootloader?

I'm just wondering how people are upgrading to the KitKat bootloader. I haven't been on in nearly a half year and I'm sure I've missed something. Will I have to put on my stock firmware and upgrade from there first? Is there even a stock KitKat ROM for the XT925?
I am not sure if Fido has released their kitkat update yet, however I am aware that many others european and south americans have such as orange and others. So what we have been doing is flashing stock from those carriers and either taking the OTA or flashing it as well.

Well, I managed to upgrade my bootloader when I used the Brazil stock ROM plus modified OTA zip file but my modem partition got gibbled... I don't have LTE anymore. Well, not a band that works here.
I did see there was a patching process when I did the KK upgrade though and I seem to recall the modem partition being patched. Think it'll work if I used swapped the Rogers one in before I do the KK upgrade? I'm about to go back to 4.1.2 (erasing the partition and tz lines).

Update the Modem/baseband Firmware*

I successfully installed a CM13 ROM for a different variant than my phone. Installed ROM jfltexx variant intended for a Gt19505 model S4 on an i337z S4. It worked and now the device model in phones settings shows listed as GT19505.
ROM works fine, phone dialer functions but I read that I should update the radio firmware. I have had a call or two drop off with no ringing sound but call is apparently going through but I can not hear person on receiving end.
So what baseband modem firmware do I update to? The true hardware i337z or the GT19505 that the phone is working as? I went from Kit Kat 4.4.2 to Marshmallow 6.0..
Baseband Version after installing CM13 jfltexx remains the original i337ztuuboa3. Everything else has changed to reflect CM13 ROM. Build, Kernal etc.
I'm baffled so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm suffering the very some issue and few others.
Just noticed that my present baseband is I9505XXUGNF1.
I've downloaded the I9505XXUHOJ2_I9505ITVHOJ1_ITV nd extracted both modem.bin and NON-HLOS.bin and flashed using Heimdall on OSX via cli.
But the phone is still reporting the old BB number.
You need to flash i337z model's RIL files & Modem. Don't know where you will get that but that's what you need to flash for sure..

Thanks. I'll search around. Problem with calls is few
Few. I say 5 % of time usually when I'm going from one area to another so I'm not certain I want to mess up phone. Couple of questions, I am using latest modem for phone as far as I know, bought it in Oct 15,and Cricket has no new update beyond 4.4.4. Are you positive it will not mesd
To flash should I use existing TWRP recovery, Odin. for those file types? I'm guessing Odin.
Once again thanks for your help

Unable to Flash Previous modem

A couple months ago I updated my S6 SM-G920T to the latest modem (FRA3) for Nougat, now after alot of testing and Logcats, it looks like this recent modem from Jan. 2018 is causing services issues in Oreo roms on my device, I tried flashing back to a previous modem but everytime I do I get an unknown baseband and the only way to fix it is to reflash the FRA3 modem!
Is downgrading a modem impossible once you upgrade? Because my Bootloader is still on an earlier firmware QH3 I believe, and that is the modem I was trying to flash.
Also, could it also be because when I try to flash the new modem I am on a S8 Port ROM?
