I am considering to buy an I-Mate SP5 smart phone which I believe supports Bluetooth v. 1.2. Also I am getting a GPS receiver that supports Bluetooth 2.0. Do you think there would be any compatibility issue communicating between those two devices? Are the Bluetooth version backward compatible?
Thanks
I have an O2 XDA Orbit2 original OS WM6 professional. Very limited Blutooth Integration with my car[Landrover freelander 2]
I have upgraded to WM 6.1[ from O2] but still there has been no change in the Bluetooth functionality with my car's Bluetooth PTI. No audio output through speakers. Rest of the functions seem fine. Similar OS tested and listed by Landrover as fully compatible with other models of Land rover. Any help in resolving this issue please?confused:

I was wondering why the Lenovo A7-40 can't connect to the Parrot Flower Power while the Asus ME181CX can.
Both support Bluetooth v4. According to the BLE Checker the A7-40 should also support BLE.
Both run with Android 4.4.2.
So what can be different in Bluetooth v4 support and how can I figure out?
Does the A7-50 have a different Bluetooth Chip?
Here you can see the different screenshots of the Bluetooth-Scanner for the Lenovo and the Asus.

hi,
please to know someone asking the same question !
i've just bought the parrot flower power, my Nexus 9 with stock Rom (android6 bluetooth 4.1) can't connect the FP with the Parrot app.
FP is in my bluetooth devices but i can't connect (invalid PIN code).
i wonder if it could be a software issue ( ROM version ....), i'll try with some other ROM....
Flexmaen please let me know if you found your answer
I have a Samsung i927 running 4.0.x android. I would like to use it with BT beacons which are all using BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy).
I do not understand exactly what the requirements are on the android phone for BLE:
Is this ONLY an android driver requirements ? Eg: If i would upgrade my rooted phone to 4.4, i would get BLE ?
It is ALSO a bluetooth chip requirement, so the BT chip in my i927 will not or may not support BLE .
If it is a chip feature, how could i figure out if the BT chip in the i927 support BLE ?
Thanks
