Phone on Silent + Music = Skip? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using PowerAMP to play music. When playing music and using Hangouts to text, if I'm in Hangouts(in the SMS convo replying and another message gets received), the music with have a slight pause/skip in it as if Hangouts is playing it's notification tone.
Can anyone confirm?

Yes, it's supposed to do it

Even when the phone is silent?
When the phone isn't silent, the music fades out instead of skipping. On silent, it literally just gets quiet instead of fading. :/

Ummm... Dunno if it's different on silent as I never have my phone on silent

That's the problem.
When the phone is on silent, and music is playing, if your inside of a hangouts conversation when the message is being received, the music skips.

[Q] No incoming call sounds

Hello again. When I receive an incoming call I get a strange problem.
I either get no ringtone no vibrate, vibrate only, or about half a second of my ringtone before it stops.
Very rarely does the phone ring normally.
Phone is set to Max volume and I get notification sounds.
I've tried searching and only found problems relating to HTC.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Finally fixed it. Turned out its the call blocker part of an app I had. NetQin Manager. I uninstalled that and now it works perfectly. Got to love this site.

Need a Mute app that allows vibration

I've been using an app to mute all the sounds on my phone (called Mute!), but it also blocks the vibration function. Does anyone have an app that will mute all system sounds (phone, notification, etc) and still allow vibration?
Press the volume down button till your phone vibrates. Works like a champ
Audio guru is pretty good.

That only mutes the ringer volume. I tried that when I first got my phone at the movie theater. I wasn't too happy when I kept getting text messages and didn't know how to turn off the notification sound.
I found Simple Sound Profile Widget. It lets you set up different sound profiles (like Normal, Meeting, Vibrate, Loud, or whatever) and then you can select one quickly from the home screen.
I'll check out Switcher Pro and Audio Guru as well.

Just go to settings-sound-then set vibrate to always and then no need for a app

Like Byrd said, no need to download an app. It already has the capability to mute all sounds for all notifications, but keep the vibrate on.

[Q] Constant beeping in call after receiving txt

I'm in a call, and got a text message from my brother. Ever since then it's been beeping every few seconds like I've got a call coming in on call waiting. Is that normal?
This may be a long call, and it's pretty annoying.
Do you have some sort of reminder settings on for your sms app?

Set for every two minutes, but this was like every 3 seconds. I killed the Messaging app and ti finally stopped, but reminder or not, I went to the app and actually read the email, not just checked the notification, which normally is enough to stop the reminder

Text Message Volume

Hello, is anyone experiencing unusually low text notifications? Ringer volume for calls seems OK, just text notifications are low.

They are linked so you can't change individually. What you can do however, is to either choose a louder notification tone (some are louder than others) or use an app like Zedge and go get you some loud notification tones (other tones as well)
Yeah I know, I thought I may of missed a setting. I did try Zedge and I did find a couple louder notifications.
