[Q] Constant beeping in call after receiving txt - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I'm in a call, and got a text message from my brother. Ever since then it's been beeping every few seconds like I've got a call coming in on call waiting. Is that normal?
This may be a long call, and it's pretty annoying.

Do you have some sort of reminder settings on for your sms app?

Set for every two minutes, but this was like every 3 seconds. I killed the Messaging app and ti finally stopped, but reminder or not, I went to the app and actually read the email, not just checked the notification, which normally is enough to stop the reminder

[Q] No incoming call sounds

Hello again. When I receive an incoming call I get a strange problem.
I either get no ringtone no vibrate, vibrate only, or about half a second of my ringtone before it stops.
Very rarely does the phone ring normally.
Phone is set to Max volume and I get notification sounds.
I've tried searching and only found problems relating to HTC.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Finally fixed it. Turned out its the call blocker part of an app I had. NetQin Manager. I uninstalled that and now it works perfectly. Got to love this site.

Go to the messaging app, then to settings. Find the box to check for vibrating for SMS.

Thank u man, u made my day! When my SGS3 upgraded to 4.1.1 Jelly bean, in sound options I set vibrate on, but it didn't vibrate on incomming calls or messages, but on facebook or skype ir worked. I went to messaging ->options->scrolled to bottom and there was option to vibrate Same to calls. Up this post to make everyone see it.

The most annoying damn thing about this phone

Every time I'm on a call, my phone will vibrate if I receive text messages. The buzzing right next to my ear makes it impossible to hear the other person, and is extremely distracting. I haven't found a way to turn this off (besides maybe setting to silent mode during a call, and I'm not even sure that works).
Any idea how to disable text notifications during a call? Would I possibly have to move to a third party app like handcent?
Call settings and then call alerts.

I have 'alerts on call' disabled but I still have the text messages vibrate when they arrive. I do not think I hear any in-call tones though.

Okay, I tested it out. 'Alerts on call' has to be ENABLED, which will result in a very light tone when text messages arrive, but that annoying vibration will no longer happen.

[Q] Call waiting sound notifcation

Hi,
I'm getting a strange issue with a relatives One S and trying to figure out how to address it. Whenever she is in a middle of a call and someone else calls in, the phone no longer makes an audible sound notifying her that there is an incoming call. She has to keep an eye the screen to see the visual notification instead, which results in missing calls since she is not looking at it during the duration of the call.
Is there a method to resolve this?
Thanks
Changed anything recently?

Check settings, call, additional options, call waiting and make sure it's enabled.

Update:
The relative told me this morning, the call waiting audio notification is working again.
In terms of if anything changed, yes I got the phone de-branded using the guide.

[Q] Gmail vibrate after 4.3

After upgrading to 4.3, my Gmail is vibrating every time I get a new email. I didn't have it set to do that before the update. I checked the Gmail settings for each of my accounts and the vibration notification is off. How is this still happening? Any ideas?
Somebody else has to have this issue.
You could clear data for Gmail and set it up again or try looking in Settings/Sound maybe there's something there. I'm not on TW 4.3 to try first hand.

I might have to try that after work today.
I cleared the data on the Gmail app and I am still getting a vibration on a new email. I attached a screenshot of my settings for that account. The vibrate is unchecked. My phone is set to vibrate mode right now. It has a sound that is supposed to play so is that maybe switching the sound to a vibration instead since I'm in vibration mode?
I just came across this too after flashing the stock rooted 4.3 ROM.
There seems to be no solution for this, and GS4 people have been complaining about it for a while. Haven't seen a real solution yet unfortunately.
In my case, my phone is on vibrate most of the time. When it's not on vibrate it can be nice to hear an audible notification when I receive a new email. But to be honest, audible Gmail notifications aren't that critical for me. So I set the Gmail notification ringtone to Silent and now my GS3 doesn't vibrate when I receive emails.

Same! Same issue. Really is annoying.

OK, glad I'm not the only one that is having this issue. It's really annoying and I might just have to shut off the sound for it. Does shutting the sound off fix the vibration when you are in vibrate mode?

Yes, setting the notification tone inside the Gmail app to "Silent" will stop the phone from vibrating when you receive an email, while in vibrate mode.
