Do you mean so you can have the Kia read your texts to you? Cuz I don't know anyone with a Kia who has managed to get that to work. As for the video, not sure what you're talking about. My bluetooth works for phone calls, syncing contacts, playing music, and turn by turn directions. That's it. BTW I have the UVO non nav system.

Any tweaks to make it better?
I'm on the verge of buying but unsure of how good it is...
I have them, and they work very well, caller id is shown, but only the number, not your actual contact name, and when you play music no info is displayed, too bad, i would have loved these extra functionalites, but apparently they are not supported, but its still a great headset, specially if you have a pc with bluetooth and you can have it paired with the pc and the mobile at the same time!

Hello, mine is working fine with phone (music re-start after a phone call), I can use all functionnality of this device (except forward and backward for music) but ther is too much "crush" when I listen to music (small "hoels" in the music); it seems to be due to A2DP...

Bcross white, I get the same problem with the Motorola Sound pilot S705. when playing a music every 3s it cut for ~1s. So I can't listen the music.
Update : After reset it is working fine. I was wondering if it was not because I was sync over BT at the same time. My only last pb with a2dp is that the sound is bad and I'm still trying to enhance it.
BEWARE of Chinese-made copies of SE headsets which are all over eBay right now. They are very good copies but exhibit audio problems which the REAL versions don't.

Take my advice, never buy anything from a Hong-Kong/Taiwan/China/any Asian country seller
Thanks, but it's too late now. I did it cause this headset was sold for more than 100 € here in Croatia. Haven't received it yet, maybe it will turn up to be quite good after all, who knows...

If you turn on the stereo function (Change the registry), then it skips every 30 secs, legit or not it still does it.
I leave it to mono, to me, the music is fine. Not the greatest but not too bad. Remote control works with Pocket Player n plugins (play/pause, skip/back, answer/reject calls, volume up/down)
Really isn't too bad, hehe
I still can't get caller name to display though
The 2.3.4 update enabled video chat in the Google Talk application, but I cant seem to figure out how to use it with Bluetooth. I have checked everywhere and I honestly just cant figure it out. Has anyone been able to get this to work?? If so, how the heck did you do it? If it helps I am using an Icon Jawbone bluetooth headset.
Anyone? I can't be the only person experiencing this problem.
Bump again! I still havent been able to resolve this, so any help is appreciated.
I cannot, neither.
I think it's a issue from the Google Talk.
Its been a while since I updated this thread and I wanted to know if anyone had this working yet. There must be a workaround that sends all audio out via Bluetooth....
Bump! I am still hopefully this will get resolved. Please comment if you know how to do this.
I assume that other audio such as music from apps like Pandora come through your bluetooth. If you can listen to music and games via Bluetooth one would think that it would work on video chat also. I could have swore I did this but it may have been another video chat app like tango or qik.
I'll try later to see if it was in fact GTalk or another app.
Have you searched the Market for bluetooth apps?
https://market.android.com/details?...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5iZWRvaWcuQlRtb25vIl0. this app will direct sound to bt headset but nor microphone. GTALK should still be usable, as long as the phone is in front of you and not tucked away in the pocket.

Yeah, its crazy actually. All other programs send bluetooth audio through the headset by default as soon as I connect it. It would appear as if Google Talk someone disabled this functionality.

Hmm, that is a good start but really it would need to be two way for it to be practical.
same problem,
but: I dont need video
I tried 3rd party apps with BT support
-FRING
-TALKATONE
Fring: has poor quality, but every call connected succesfully,
Talkatone: call is perfect, but speaker and microphone working both only in 1 from 50x.
Gtalk 2 routing nothing to BT for me
If anyone found or will find any solution for gtalk call via bluetooth headset stable.. please write it.. THX a lot
agreed, this is very frustrating.
I have a Sony Bluetooth Car Stereo BT MEX 3600U. If I get a call the stereo will change the CD or FM Radio to the ringing for my phone, I would like to do this with Notifications as I need to know when I get a text. I'd like to also be able to do the same when I am using Google Maps Navigation. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to know. I may also use it for part of my Software Development Degree.
I second this. My Honda Civic's bluetooth does the same thing. It notifies when you get calls while listening to the radio, but you have to change input to bluetooth audio to hear message notifications and GPS. I would love to hear turn-by-turn GPS while using the radio.
Though I feel like it's something on the car's side that has to change.
IDK, I would have thought that you could merely spoof the phone into thinking its recieving a call or it may even be a simple case of channeling the Audio through a different output. I can't see much detail online but hope this thread may get some answers.

Been researching. Sounds like the car stereo has to be bluetooth stereo audio and hands free compatible. But most car stereo are only hands free compatible.

Possible answer but not fix. I know it's for an iphone but it seems like it's the same problem.

In order to overcome the "handsfree mode only" you can use the BTMono: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5iZWRvaWcuQlRtb25vIl0.
hmmm thats very interesting but it seams like I just need to force the Audio not to pass through A2DP and instead Use the Phone protocol.
If someone has an APK of the BTmono App It would be very helpfull as Google has locked me out of my account on Playstore
It seams the exact same problem as my stereo will play my phone music if it it set to BT Audio Input. However, It will Always play phone call ringtone.
Edit : After a little research, My Head Unit utilises A2DP for Music, and HFP (Hands Free Profile) for Phone and ringtone.
If I can Modify the route the Notification is sent, from A2DP to HFP then it will work perfectly.
Why has this gone dead !!!!
I've gotten a new stereo about a month ago and everything comes thru my radio even when I have it on Pandora mode it dims he music and my navigation thru the phone comes thru plus my notifications and ringtones that I have set in my phone its a JVC kd-s79bt... Is there anything I can offer to help solve I'm running venom 1.20 and zrboz newest kernel... You can control the head unit thru an app called smart remote its for JVC or kenwood decks with Bluetooth maybe the apk can offer some insights???
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
That's interesting I might have to see if It is worth buying one of these for my car, Far less effort
You guys are right.. I connect my phone to my ford sync focus and my phone rings but no notifications... Making an app would hurt would it
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
therion0, I think it would be possible but I am not a dev so if any one could help make this a reality, this thread needs to have a few developers on board.
Microsoft Windows Phone 8 can do this
My friend has a Nokia Lumia 920 running Microsoft Windows Phone 8 and his phone does this. His car actually says "In Call" when his phone reads notifications to him (and then waits for spoken commands to act upon them).
Why can't Android?
Does anyone know of a way for the camera to record video and use the Bluetooth via headset for audio? Or any other cheap wireless mic solution that will work with on an android phone and doesn't require recording audio and video separately? Thanks

Yes. The camera app only records from the internal mic. I really need a wireless solution that allows me to have the microphone several meters away to record the sound. I could only find wired solutions and they were not even for android.
I think I've got it!
so, I've been trying to do this exact same thing for about a week now, and I think I've got it. with the help of some random people on the internet.
it seems this is actually a two part problem.
1) get the device to recognize the bluetooth microphone (from a headset or other bluetooth wireless device).
2) get the audio into a video recording.
it seems that android and an OS is not readily prepared to do either of these, and the built in video recorder cannot use audio from a source other than the devices built-in microphone.....so....we have to improvise a little.
First, we will need to get android to play nice with the bluetooth device. start by installing a free little app called "bt mono" you can find it on the google play store.
once installed you will need to run this any time you want to use your bluetooth device in a way other than as a phone.
on a side note, this works great for listening to music via a bluetooth headset.
second you will need a video recorder that can take the audio input that bt mono gives you. so, run back over to the google play store and get "lgCamera"
the only thing you have to do now is tell lgCamera that you want to use the "microphone" as the audio source.
thats it. you now have a video recorder on your phone/tablet that will use "almost" any bluetooth device as the audio input.
I have this exact set up on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus with CM 10.1.0 rooted, and it works perfectly. I am not sure if this works with unrooted devices, though I don't see why it wouldn't. hope this helps anyone who's been dredging the depths of the interwebs!
very special thanks to david hadaller and to Warren Barton for the breakdown and links!

Hi bud...
did you find any solution-for phone camera to record video and use the Bluetooth via headset for audio?
i looking for same too Sam.Note4 but no luck so far
Yes. lgCamera and BT Mono works on android. It properly records the video from the phone and the audio captured from my Nokia HS-3W Bluetooth Headset.
Tested with Sony Ericsson LT18i.
Cinema FV-5 has a setting for audio source, and BT works
The only problem - 'cinema fv-5' doesn't seem to utilize the front camera, only the main one.
(can't post the link, search on play store for 'cinema fv-5')
Hello. I kinda worked for 3 secs then it automatically switch back to internal mic.
I have level u headphone and note 5. Is is there anyway to make it stay?
is there any solution that we could hack the OS to make external Bluetooth Mic recognised by the native video camera app in the android phone? its so silly that if you try for example "Open Camera" app from play store the external mic works fine. But i am interested to use the native Camera app for video recordings
any thoughts or feedback will be much appreciated!!
Cinema FV-5 Front Camera
To utilize the front camera on Cinema FV-5 swipe from Left to Right.
If you swipe the left menu bar to the right it will switch to the front camera.
This is documented NO WHERE in the user manual. I found it when I purchased the Camera FV-5 app. On a pop-up instructional screen it said to swipe the left menu bar from left to right to engage the front camera. The photo camera version also has an icon on the right menu bar that switches the photo camera to the front camera but there is no icon nor instructions for the video camera.
It works. Cinema FV-5 works excellently with any bluetooth headset to record audio on video from the BT headset. Just make sure to have the BT headset connected before you open Cinema FV-5 or there may be connection issues to the app.
These are some of the videos that use audio from the BT headset around my neck.
The videos are on YouTube, just paste the ending part below at the end of YouTube.com i.e. /endingpart

An in-ear headset is actually clearer and I've just switched to that type of BT headset but I don't have any of those uploaded at the time of this posting..
UPDATE: Although the swipe left to right will switch to the front camera, the BT audio does not work with the front camera, only the rear camera. Perhaps Cinema FV-5 will fix this with a future update.
Hi guys, we could manage this function through the btmono app, up to version 8. Today, we are at 11 and the situation has not changed .. They say for safety but I cannot give up this solution and I remain at 8.
Do you guys who got this to work with BT Mono and lgCamera have a link to the playstore lgCamera app? I searched it but could not find it. Thanks!

Hello,
After the Oreo I had issues with my bluetooth syncing properly to my car. I drive a 2017 Corolla iM and never had issues with my music bt audio syncing before. My phone calls with my b.t works just fine . But music apps like Spotify / Google music doesn't work. I found a workaround using my aha radio app that came with the car and played my music with b.t through there just fine. So I know it's not the music apps problem . My girlfriend iPhone 7 bluetooth with Spotify works just fine, and it syncs into my car. But I don't know why mine stopped working.
Thanks,

Hey, I found a workaround. Basically using my old nexus 7 tablet with Spotify and my pixel with hotspot for my tablet and then listening onto the n7 device. both bluetooth are turned on with n7 for music and my pixel for phone in my car options. You can use any other devices as long as it's not Oreo.
Would flashing a custom ROM fix this?
It's very annoying. My Volkswagen Golf (with RNS 510 Version S) will connect automatically with calls, but to get bluetooth audio streaming working, I have to manually disable bluetooth and then reenable before it will be seen by the car.
Prior to 8.0 this worked automatically.
At the moment, I have A Sena 20S for my motorcycle and an Plantronics headset, and if I activate Google with either one, using the buttons or just hitting the google MIC button, no audio is heard by the phone over the Mic.
really causes and issue for me. Any idea if there is a fix, I also made sure that Bluetooth Headset is set to on. No go. Frustrating, I ahve 30 days, if this is not fixed, i will need to send it back ..
IM sure its just a patch, but when?
