Sony Ericsson Bluetooth Stereo Headset HBH-DS970 - P3600 Accessories

Any good with the trinity?
Soes the track title / caller ID display?
Any tweaks to make it better?
I'm on the verge of buying but unsure of how good it is...

I have them, and they work very well, caller id is shown, but only the number, not your actual contact name, and when you play music no info is displayed, too bad, i would have loved these extra functionalites, but apparently they are not supported, but its still a great headset, specially if you have a pc with bluetooth and you can have it paired with the pc and the mobile at the same time!

Did you try JETware Hands-free Extension for Windows Mobile phones ( http://www.jetwaremobile.com/ )? It SHOULD work.

yes, but does it play music well?

yes it plays music sound but when i make a call it switch on the speaker of the phone.

Hello, mine is working fine with phone (music re-start after a phone call), I can use all functionnality of this device (except forward and backward for music) but ther is too much "crush" when I listen to music (small "hoels" in the music); it seems to be due to A2DP...

Ludovic

Bcross white, I get the same problem with the Motorola Sound pilot S705. when playing a music every 3s it cut for ~1s. So I can't listen the music.
Update : After reset it is working fine. I was wondering if it was not because I was sync over BT at the same time. My only last pb with a2dp is that the sound is bad and I'm still trying to enhance it.

BEWARE of Chinese-made copies of SE headsets which are all over eBay right now. They are very good copies but exhibit audio problems which the REAL versions don't.

Take my advice, never buy anything from a Hong-Kong/Taiwan/China/any Asian country seller

Thanks, but it's too late now. I did it cause this headset was sold for more than 100 € here in Croatia. Haven't received it yet, maybe it will turn up to be quite good after all, who knows...

I bought 1 of the Chinese version and it's not too bad... saves a lot of money
If you turn on the stereo function (Change the registry), then it skips every 30 secs, legit or not it still does it.
I leave it to mono, to me, the music is fine. Not the greatest but not too bad. Remote control works with Pocket Player n plugins (play/pause, skip/back, answer/reject calls, volume up/down)
Really isn't too bad, hehe
I still can't get caller name to display though

Anyone experience with the Parrot CK-3100 bluetooth carkit

Does anyone have experience with the Parrot CK-3100 bluetooth carkit ?
I was about to go for the new Sony Ericsson HCB-300 unit when I encountered the Parrot. Featurewise it looks like a great unit, but I am interested in anyones experience using this unit.
What is the sound quality ? Are all features (like caller id etc) usable with the MDA/XDAII ...
Thanks !
Taco
Hi there,
I have recently fitted the CK3100 & have to say its been really good. It integrates with the vehicle, just like any other professionally available car kit.
That's the good news - the bad news is the XDA II (in all its guises) - still the age old problem of the lack of car kit profile means that the functionality is limited.
Yes, it does pair with the CK3100. Yes it will send and receive calls. What it won't do is make any proper use of the LCD display, nor will it allow access to the address book on the PDA.
In short, it will interact in the same way as it would any BT headset - because that is what it thinks its talking to !
If I use the car and need my handsfree - I have to muse my old Nokia 6310i - which works perfectly - allowing full use of the LCD screen and 100% access to all the data on the phone.
You may wish to check out the other threads on this site regarding the known and ongooing problem with the BT stack on the XDA II.
It's really pathetic that my old nokia beats the more advanced XDA II hands down when it comes to BT integration.
best of luck
Redz
Redz,
Have you tried installing the Pocket Bluetooth tools (http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html) to create a carkit profile in the XDAII ?
I've ordered the Parrot and will receive it later this week.
A slight diversion
I hate hijacking but any of you guys know how to get the Motorola car kit to answere calls. O2 blame Pocket Windows 2003. MS blame Motorola. Making calls is fine but answereing is a no no so Ive to call callers back when on the road. Any ideas

Phone only, and just using a headset profile, without the option of adjusting the volume which results in (too) loud sound, causing echo.

Compatibility test: Bluethooth gear

Tested following:
Headsets
Sony Ericsson:HBH-610a: Works without any problems
HBH-IV835: Works without any problems
HBH-DS970: Works without any problems. Music-buttons(pause, play, skip) worked with pocket music(have not tested with any other), and the display on the headset shows the number calling.
HBH-GV435: Works without any problems
Nokia:
BH-300: Works without any problems
BH-800: Works without any problems
Others:
MBW-100: (Bluethooth watch) Will not pair
MTU TECH Virtual Bluethooth keyboard : Able to pair and discover services, but having some issues with the software that is needed for it to work... Will post a update soon
... To be updated.
Edit: Added BH-300, 800 and HBH-GV435
Audio
Motorola HT820 works fine
works fine on Samsung WEP200
Audio -
Works great with Motorola H700
Nokia HDW-3: works fine
Motorola H350 also works fine.
Compatability
Scala 700 works fine
Nokia hs-12w is also working fine.
With my SonyEricsson k800i I can use HID and control the P3600.
Plantronics 590A - perfect. It even switches from TV source to phone when somebody is calling. Previous/next track works. Redial works. All features fully work with Trinity. EXCELLENT
One strange thing though: I was listening to music on Trinity and paused it from the headset. After one minute Trinity went to sleep, screen went off. I pressed resume on headset and the music started again with screen remaining COMPLETELY OFF. However, a few seconds later the music stopped just when I was beginning to think I discovered a way to keep music playing with screen light off .
Next few tries whenever I press resume on headset screen starts and music resumes normally.
Successfully tested with a samsung WEP185 !
Motorola
H-350 - working great
H-500 - working great
HS-830 - working great
HT-820 - working great

JABRA BT-320s Stereo Headphone.
I bought this 2 days ago and I struggled to connect it with the Trinity. Here are the problems I came up against.
1. Mono (not stereo) sound using Media Player (WMP). Found this registry hack in other threads ---> Set HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/A2DP/Settings/[UseJointStereo = 0] (was 1 decimal).
2. WMP stalls briefly from time to time. From the same thread:
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/A2DP/Settings/[BitPool = 45] (was 30decimal).
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/A2DP/Settings/[MaxSupportedBitPool = 45] (was 30 decimal).
3. When handsfree to phone, the bt320s would drop out while the caller was connected. I tried a hard reset of Trinity in case there was a conflict with other software. This didn't help. I then found an undocumented way to reset the bt320s and that fixed it. It is now working well for listening to music, handling calls or using the Voice Speed Dial . To reset the bt320s:
a. Turn off the bt320s.
b. Connect and disconnect the bt320s to its charger 3 times leaving it on the charger for 3-5 seconds each time.
c. Delete the bt320s partnership on the PDA
d. Pair the bt320s to the PDA again.
Big thanks to all others on this forum and other forums for their help.

Unfortunately these features are not supported.

G'Day ,
Just purchased the BlueAnt Micro X3 Bluetooth Headset for my Dopod D810. So far very nice, works extremely well, great range and no static. Only very slight echo. I will be sending Blueant an email to see if they have a solution or fix.
Here is a link:

The unit itself is very small, but comfortable a lot nicer than my previous Nokia 202 which produced a lot of static.

SONY Bluetooth Stereo Problems. Help please

I have recently purchase a SONY DR-BT20NX stereo wireless headset that is SUPPOSED to work as a hands free head set too. It's not behaving and wondered the following:
Does anyone run one of these and can advise?
Are there know problems with BT Stereo headsets on the Trinity that require tweeks?
It seems to be OK when playing music but when set as a hands free unit the phone will not ring, it will only sound in the earphones. It will not respond to an INCOMMING call only an outgoing one. NONE of the advance functions work when making or taking a call so I have to use the buttons on the PDA!
When used as a stereo headset it does seem to stop start and pause music ok from the button on the headset, and even skip to the next track. But as mentioned, NO functions work from the button on the BT headset when a using the phone, let alone the advance functions the thing is supposed to offer.
This is the second unit I've tried as I returned the first one to the supplier as I thought it was faulty as it was do too many stupid things.
Thoughts chaps...?
Sorry not much help with your specific model but I can report that the Trinity works well with the SonyEricsson HBH-DS970 both for audio and to manage phone calls. All buttons work properly.
Are you sure your model supports the Handsfree BT profile? I thought all phones and phone accessories were part of the SonyEricsson joint venture portfolio and Sony would not produce phone accessories under its own brand.
Read this, Sony BT20NX worked seamlessly (both A2DP and AVRCP) on Wizard :

I did think the same way you are, until i see it myself on a store shelves... I really don't understand why either...
Anyway both DS970 and BT20NX have necklace design... or you may called it "gene"

I tried this in one of the stores and found that it was NOT working properly with my Trinity (WM6 Rom). It was skipping horribly. Gave up after 5mins of trying. The square design of the center piece makes it looks like it came from the 90s.
Anyway, I tried the http://www.itechdynamic.com/en/products_spec.asp?cid=2&pid=02050 I-Clip Radio and it worked out of the box (Flawlessly). Even the Cyberion Voice commander (for handsfree dialing through wireless bluetooth) works beautifully. Bought it after 10mins of trying, used it for 5 days now ... no regrets! It comes with a 3.5mm audio socket so you can pair it to your favourite Sony EX headphone or the over priced Shure headphone. Sound quality is unbelievable. Try it ...
Just wondering if MIZZO1628 eventually got Trinity working with the Sony DR-BT20NX earphones? I really like the look of these, and am willing to do some reg hacking if necessary - but not if its going to be a dead end...
I also have the Sony BT headphones, and they have always been a problem with every rom (HTC Wizard included) that I have used.
I nearly always must edit the registry to listen to music, and the phone call function only works for outgoing calls.
I should have known better than to buy something with 'Sony' on it, but there was a recommendation elsewhere in this forum.

Polaris sound volume & quality

Hi there !
I've my Polaris since one week now and I'm very happy with except with the sound output.
First, and comparing to the ELF (Touch), I find that the quality of the sound output (on the external loudspeaker) is really bad (in quality and with 2 time less in volume). Tested with a MP3.
Second, when I use the headphone, playing any sound, I've two time less volume into the headphone with the Polaris than with the ELF.
The most strange thing is that with the FM Radio I've a clear and loud volume.
Then I suppose that this problem won't come from the hardware but seem to be the same as by the past with other HTC PPC: A software (system) bug.
F.y.i, I've tested the WOW SRS application. The main difference is that the sound become much "crispy" but don't change anything on the volume.
Anyone have the same problem ? (I really hope )
Thanks for your feedback.

Thx Riconat but as I've explained, my problem "only" occur when I listen a MP3 or any other sound.
With the Radio, it is perfect (without any need to use "AudioBooster" application).
Hows the sound quality and loudness on a call on the speakerphone compared to listening to an MP3 on speakerphone?
I have a rather opposite problem,
When listening to mp3 co audioboster feel a fable,
Fm radio instead feels very low in both headphones and external

Same and much bad as on the ELF.
I also remarked that the voice sound of the TomTom isn't so good (if in this case, I find it sufficiently good).
by the way, I've tested the headset with a phone conversation, no problem, the sound is clear and sufficiently loud.

;-) Sorry for my poor English
What I would say are two things
Comparing to the HTC ELF (Touch), my Polaris is really bad (volume problem) when I listen a MP3. Same MP3 tested on both Mobile (ELF & Polaris), two time more volume on the ELF than on the Polaris. Also the output of the same MP3 on the external loudspeaker of the Polaris is crappy comparing to the ELF (tested with the same MP3 file)
I've also remarked that the sound of the voice of my TomTom navigator isn't so good as I can expect (but I also wrote that this point isn't the most important for me)
I've tested all what I can with a lot of tools.. The volume problem with the MP3 is really one (for me, at the moment) unsolvable problem.
I'll try to open a ticket to HTC by tomorrow and see what they told me.

Back to issue. I think that's a bit weird coz my MP3's plays good and loud enough on Mobile Media Player 10 an Audio Manager. In fact, all my notifications were MP3 based.

But if I try to set this same MP3 as ringtone...it sounds too low .
Maybe, I have to use a 3rd party soft to set MP3 as notifications with an acceptable level? Do you use this kind of software?

FM Radio signal verry bad

Hallo,
I now have my device for a week and i'm verry happy with it.
But yesterday i tried to use the FM radio in the train and i was verry dissapointed with that.
I can't get a normal signal from any radio station.
I first toth it was because i was in a train..but when i arrived at the trainstation andn walked outside my signal still was verry bad.
I tried a couple of settings in my FM radio but nothing helped.
The only thing i tould worked, was to turn down the volume till 10% en turn the volume on the headset down.
Then i got some signal..but still it was verry bad.
Are there other people with the same problem..is it just a bad FM player in every device..or is my device broken?
Or is it just the headset that can give this problem?
Please can somebody give me some tips to make the signal better so i can use my device in the train as FM-radio.
I have the same problem : very bad signal on FM radio .
Is it a hardware or software problem ?
The radio is useless in this circumstances
Note : a simple "mini player" radio FM bought $3 (there are 6 years) is better than Touch Cruise (Polaris).
It,s not the radio it,s the headphone,try with other (3300's headphone or HTC E100)and u will c.
My radio seems to work fine, not as good as my old Sony Ericsson, but good enough for me.
I know it seems silly but have you tried moving the headphones wire around; don't forget it acts as the antenna for the radio.
Yeah tried that before.
Didn't change anything.
But i will try to use a other headset..maby this will work.
Otherwise im going to give a call to the helpdesk of HTC
My signal is bad as well, i had an old nokia 6610 before the polaris and his radio was way better in signal quality, if someone tests with different headphones please let us know so i`ll change mine.
Called the helpdesk today and they said it is probably the headset.
Tomorrow they will get my device incl. headset back to the factory and will find out wath the problem really is.
So its back to the factory after 1 1/2 week!
Thats really the fastes return i ever had with a device.
Hope this will solve something otherwise it's never a HTC device again
After the disapointing video playback and the rest of the problems with the drivers and now the problems with the fm radio..this is really pising me off.
Well i let you know if the problems are solved when the device is returned to me.

Is anyone knows through experience what headset work better with TC?
i think i would have to agree with others to try another headset. fm radio is just pretty much a extra so i wouldnt complain too much. if it would be so good the athena and other devices would have it. it is just there for using once in a while etc.. also i bet though this is htc's work bc if they used a internal antenna instead i bet it would be much better than using the headset

Why is it a extra?
Thay say that it has FM radio in the device..so it's not extra.
Otherwise the phone function is extra to :S..and if that doesn't work i complain about it also..wouldn't you??

I have the wired remote (w100) that i used with my tytn II.
Just a heads up, it's only works with audio manager and windows media player (and htc radio obviously).
My cruise should be here soon hopefully so I will test it out.
HTC seems to take shortcuts with their devices. Antenna should not be in headest, should be in chip, plain and simple.
Also their wired remote is not perfect. It brings audio manager/windows media player to foreground of your phone whenever you press any of the buttons.
Also if you have suspend power on or screen off and you change volume of music via remote, the wakes up the device etc.. but i think if you lock it it might go back to sleep, can't remember.
Also keep in mind that it has a good length cord, from pocket to neck or so, but remmber your headphones you have to attach are long so you have a lot of extra cord! I have to wrap my head phones cord up and use twist ties! If I could find a pair of short wired good head phonesi would be happy but the ones i bought wer normal long wired ones to go with my remote.

I have a Nevada personal DAB/FM radio which I use on the train. The Orbit 2 + E100 is at least as good as the Nevada for FM reception.
The only problem is, as mentioned elsewhere, if you press any of the controls on the E100 when listening to the FM radio the screen comes back on.
Cheers,
Paul

I've seen several people saying something similar to this but I just don't see how it's possible.
FM radio stations use a 3 metre wavelength. What signal level are you going to pick up with an aerial that's max 10 cm long?
I admit I'm no expert on aerial design etc but I have never seen a (useful) FM radio with an aerial less than about 40 cm.
Cheers,
Paul
i have a wireless bluetooth headphone but i can't put the radio working with this device, is there any solution? by the way is there any change of put an internal antena on this device?
The O2 xda ORBIT 2 comes with the E100 and even then the reception isnt that great.
