I got a sensation xe with this details:
unlocked
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.29.0000
eMMC-boot
Mar 2 2012, 18:14:34
my cid: J__15
have 4EXT recovery (1.0.0.5!)
need help please!

then the only you have to do is flash a rom
and before flashing the rom enable smartflash from 4ext
follow the guide as suggested previously

a ruu brings the device into 100% stock as you bought it
in order to run the ruu you have first to relock your bootloader
that's why you have that error
but do you have a specific reason to use a ruu.exe?
if not then go to mike's thread in development section and download the rom
there is the stock or ARHD rom which is the closest to the stock
the rom it can be flashed from the recovery
and before flashing enable smartflash

the bootloader is unlocked already.
which zip file should i flash from recovery?

relocked bootloader and tried to flash this

cuz i don,t know what the zip file should i use and get error with CID

First of all i re-unlocked the bootloader from HTCDEV.
then enable the smartflash from 4ext recovery menu.
then downloaded this file: Android_Revolution_HD-Sensation_7.2.zip and put it on sdcard.
then install it from sdcard.
then i flashed the boot after flashing.
now it works.

Hello!
I have an HTC Sensation which is not turning on just staying on Logo. Bootloader is working. I wanted to factory reset the mobile, but when i factory reseted it, its not turning on.
Bootloader is Unlocked

I have the same problem.It happened after I flashed Sebastian's ROM, Revelation, 2 days ago.
My phone is in the same state, Unlocked and S-ON, HBOOT 1.27 . Since it's S-ON I always enable SmartFlash in 4EXT every time I want to flash a new ROM, and the same I did when I flashed Revelation, 2 days ago, but something went wrong and now I'm stuck at splash screen; it shows up for 5 seconds, then turns black, splash screen again and so on.
I can't even restore my nandroid that I did right before flashing Revelation.

if you are using 4ext recovery do this
format all partitions except sdcard
enable smartflash
flash the rom
otherwise flash the boot.img of the rom manually

My recovery is also not working. When i open recovery it stays at logo again

Now i have reflashed the recovery but it is (recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.9-pyramid). I reflashed it because i couldnt find any 4ext recovery with s-on. Can you please tell me what to do next?

Get 4ext recovery from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861. It will be more helpful if you're flashing roms s-on.

So now i flashed 4ext but when i enable 4EXT smartflash and reboot it still stays at Logo

Did u relfash the rom from 4ext?
And note that first boot of any rom can take upto 10 mins. Be patient.

Yup i reflashed ViperS 3.0.0... and wanted to turn on but it still stays at Logo
Maybe i need some other rom to flash?

Do a full wipe except sdcard and then reflash. Post the results.
And before flash got to options (4ext recovery) and ensure smartflash is on.
This will work just fine (note: ViperS 3.1.0 available OTA).

Yea i did a full wipe many times and flashed again but still staying at logo
I also tried to to boot with smartflash enabled but didn't work.

Just to be sure, ensure:
You are htcdev unlocked s-on
You have 3.32/3.33 firmware (check using fastboot getvar version-main)
You chose full wipe except sdcard from 4ext recovery
At least wait 10 mins!!!
SmartFlash is on before flash
Don't choose CPU freq above 1782 in installation (dont overclock gpu too much either)
If you are still stuck, manually flash boot.img and see what happens.
This should work. Other wise try another rom (say, ViperS 3.1.0).

Check the md5 sum if that isnt the problem flash the boot image in fastboot mode.
If that doesn't work just try to s-off its better to do that since it gives you less headaches.

If this doesn't work either, it could be bad partition. Then (only as a last resort) do an ruu. That should definately fix your phone.

What to do after flashing RUU?

What do I need to do after flashed RUU to gain back my root? Tried to do it from start which is download the revolutionary tools, but I get "_rawadb_handle_msg: unknown command 69766564" error. How can I fixed it? Or is there anyway to regain my root? I have also tried use the One Click Root. Although the program said I have successfully rooted but I'm not. Please help me... :crying:

you can flash 4ext recovery
then from recovery flash this zip file

it will give you root

Why I booted into normal boot after choose the recovery from bootloader? any idea what happen?

hmm,
try this
put the recovery.img in your adb and fastboot folder
and type this command in fastboot mode
fastboot boot(or reboot) recovery.img

Solved it already. :laugh: I download another recovery img file to be flash in bootloader and it worked! Thanks for the root zip file :good: Been searching for solutions for half day >.<
P.S: Everytime I go into recovery mode there's a message under "unconfigured: use 4ext apps to set me up" What apps do I need to set it up?

probably means to install 4ext updater or 4ext control app just to keep the 4ext recovery updated

I have flash Vipers rom and I'm stuck at the screen after the viper moving screen. Any solution to this? tired of all the problems... >.<
EDIT: after updated the hboot and flash the radio then it can boot up already... at last...

My Sensation won't boot after flashing MIUI V5 4.2.14

I'm on HBOOT 1.27.00000 and S-ON.
Now I've just flashed MIUI v5 4.2.14 and it won't boot after restart.
It stays at the HTC white screen.
Is there anyone kind enough to guide me how to properly install MIUI, or, at least back to the stock rom?
I'm desperately needing help here :crying:

Change the recovery to 4ext latest 1.0.0.6 rc1 ,format everything except sd card from recovery after that enable smartflash and flash Rom,if doesn't boot up again you'll need to flash boot.img from pc via fastboot

I finally figured it out.
After flashing the rom, have to flash the boot.img (inside the rom zip file) as well, using the command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Now I'm able to boot into MIUI and enjoy the new rom!
I never have to do this extra step with flashing my Desire HD, not sure why it doesn't work this time.
Anyway, thanks for your help

So I don't really need S-OFF to flash any custom roms that I want right?
I will just have to take the extra step of flashing boot.img..
Because I can't seem to work out S-OFF on my sensation despite whole afternoon of hard-works.
Is there an easy way to S-OFF sensation other than the paper-clip hack?

no need to S-OFF for flashing custom roms
and unfortunately there is no other way except wire trick
but you can always flash 4ext recovery and avoid the extra step for boot.img

After S-ON system won't boot to OS. Please Help!

Hi guys
I've looked everywhere for a solution. Maybe someone know another post that I might've missed.
My phone won't start, it keeps rebooting to the white HTC screen.
Right, now to the problem. Before this problem I had a custom ROM installed (Carbon 4.3) which was getting a few errors so I decided to restore it with clockworkmod from a previous backup. Now what this did is turned the device to ****Locked**** and S-ON .
So what I did next is use HTCDEV to unlock it. Well that bit worked but it's still S-ON.
Now it shows

I can still go in to Recovery and use the 4EXT recovery Touch (v1.0.0.4 RC3) and i managed to wipe everything including the SD as I already backed it up. After I installed a custom ROM (Blitz 4.0). Everything went well, finished installing successfully. After a reboot the phone won't start to the OS. It keeps looping to the White HTC screen (without even vibrating every time it reboots). So I can install any ROM but can't boot into it.
I even re-partitioned my SD thinking that the mSD was the issue but no luck.
Any particular advice how can I fix this?

Go to recovery---> tools--->enable smart flash
And flash Rom it will work
OR
flash boot from Rom by fastboot command
fastboot flash boot boot.img
For kitkat Rom update 4ext recovery to latest o think its rc 6

Although second one worked like a charm! :good: Thanks for that. Now my next question is: If I want to install another ROM will it make the same problem? If yes then how do I get the from S-ON to S-OFF? Will the Revolutionary Utility help ,me or mess it up?

just to know enable smartflash exactly before flashing the rom
and yes you will have to do the same if smartflash fail again
if you want to S-OFF you have to flash stock rom first
then follow this guide

Thanks rzr86. Will think about it before I'll S-OFF. I'm happy that I got it working again. Plus I don't use it anymore. It's my wife's phone now. Just wanted to flash a new ROM and pass it on to her and that poo happened. :cyclops: Now it's back to life.
