Yes, this is by design. In effect the picture that you get from the front camera is reversed in order to make it as if someone else had taken the picture in the normal fashion. If you really want the mirror image, just use the image editor to flip it.
Pretty much every front facing camera phone I've had done this. Actually it doesn't come out in reverse. It comes out correct. The image is reversed on the screen. This is so its familiar like a mirror. If you've got chocolate on your face, its easier to guide yourself looking in a mirror

If that's how it is that's fine, and thanks for the quick reply!

Hi, something that's very irritating to me is the front facing camera issue when you take a picture... you snap a pic and when you go to view it, the picture is reverted in the opposite direction.. can someone take a pic and see what im talking about?
Yeah it does it on mine as well. Appears to be a mirror image of what you are looking at on the screen when the picture is taken.

Yes and then it turn when the pic is completed which is annoying.. that needs to be fixed
sadly this has been the deal with HTC (all?) phones with a front facing camera since the MyTouch4G came out. The software will mirror you so that you see what you'd see in a mirror. this is just plain stupid & I wish it'd show you the mirror image but not actually process the picture that way & leave it like it should be.
So people, there arent any settings to fix this issue?

Ummm let's use the SEARCH feature before we go and open new threads mmmk...... There is already at least 3 different threads that cover this.
When I take pictures with the front facing camera they come out looking pretty blurry and very bad quality. Is there something I am doing wrong? Does this happen to anyone else? The regular camera is fine but not the front facing camera.

are you sure noting is blocking the front camera? My front camera is fine. even though with less mpix it takes decent pictures under a good light.
Nothing is blocking it. Maybe it is just my phone

It might be but before doing any actions. Try something like instagram and see it that makes any change. If not master reset your phone and try again. If that step does not help. If you are under warranty get a warranty replacement.
Did you make sure the lens is clean? I remember when I first got my S3, I freaked out because of blurry pictures, but then I realized the lens had a film over it and just needed a good wipe.

Hi there.
Since we have working android 4.3 builds for our sensation (I think it's since then, not sure) the camera does somehow not work properly.
Sometime focus is fine, but most of the time I'm able to see how the picture gets clear and then they get blurred again while focusing. It's the same for auto focus and manual focus.
Is that a general issue? Does somebody maybe know how to fix it?
Thanks in advance

I'm using focal, even there it doesn't work.
It's easy to reproduce if you try to take a picture of a written piece of paper. The text will be blurred most of the time.

I have "very" tiny red dots
Since i Got my Sensation, I had never take a 100% good pic but, trying to get better quality its like an hardware issue. Clean the lens will not change anything

That's not what I mean. I mean it looks like that picture I attached.
It is unreadable, though there is no zoom. While focusing I can see it gets clear, but then it goes back to that.
I think we got a bad sync Between Camera app and Flash.
With better brightness the picture is better but in the darkness the flash can't be at good time to make better picture
Just what i think since i got Sensation

I don't know how all of that works, but I didn't use flash for that picture and I remember that with stock rom and and 4.2.2 based rom it worked good.
Okay, so, I cracked my phones camera lens while at work. Don't know how, don't know when. I just know that it was at work. I'm placing pictures of how it looks and what it looks like to take pictures, below. taking pictures and videos looks foggy and and leave a halo effect on the corner. Also, I don't think it will focus anymore when touching the screen. My question is, what replacement part do I need to get this fixed? I have a NA Nexus 5 (not that this type of problem should matter whether or not it's NA or not) Also, does anyone recommend a place or a link that they have for the replacement part? Thanks for your help.

That's the part you need. It has the lens embedded in it.

Hey guys,
My wife and I have the same phone.
I've noticed something odd since getting my.s7 (exynos) . The white in the photos I take often have a yellow tint whereas the photos my wife tales of the same thing are more natural and have no yellow. I've tried messing.with the camera setting and brightness slide from in the app, And it helps a bit. However, I feel that my.wifes phone tales better photos. Has anyone else had a similar issue with the camera?
I tried uploading some photos but cannot do so from I the app.
More details please. ROM, kernel, etc? Also this is a wrong place to create this thread

Well I was rooted on nougat and was using superstock, superman rom, helios (I think that's the name of the rom) and the issue persisted. I went back to stock mm . Issue was there too. Went back to stock nougat and kernel and issue is there sometimes. It almost seems like my camera is over sensitive to light but not sure .
I have images but again cannot upload via the app .
Here's an example
The chairs are an egg white colour but in some of the photos they come off as being yellow in the same light. I really don't get it .
Especially here
Ps-where do I put the thread?

if the chairs are white and show up yellow.....how come your shoes aren't showing yellow?
can't possibly be your camera.

Not sure man. tested it again last night against my wife's camera and she noticed it too. Its only specific things under lowlight. We can reproduce it on hers if the ccamera trieds to focus on an object in the foreground , then the background becomes yellowish, but mine does it alone. Ive messed about in rpo mode and it seems to go away, but I dont wanna have to manually set the camera preferences everytime I take a photo.
Final update. Took it to my retailer and they wanted to send it in for hardware check. Sold the phone instead and went back to Nexus 5x .
