Blurry front facing camera photos - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

When I take pictures with the front facing camera they come out looking pretty blurry and very bad quality. Is there something I am doing wrong? Does this happen to anyone else? The regular camera is fine but not the front facing camera.

are you sure noting is blocking the front camera? My front camera is fine. even though with less mpix it takes decent pictures under a good light.

Nothing is blocking it. Maybe it is just my phone

It might be but before doing any actions. Try something like instagram and see it that makes any change. If not master reset your phone and try again. If that step does not help. If you are under warranty get a warranty replacement.

Did you make sure the lens is clean? I remember when I first got my S3, I freaked out because of blurry pictures, but then I realized the lens had a film over it and just needed a good wipe.

Error with front facing camera?

Hi, something that's very irritating to me is the front facing camera issue when you take a picture... you snap a pic and when you go to view it, the picture is reverted in the opposite direction.. can someone take a pic and see what im talking about?
Yeah it does it on mine as well. Appears to be a mirror image of what you are looking at on the screen when the picture is taken.

Yes and then it turn when the pic is completed which is annoying.. that needs to be fixed
sadly this has been the deal with HTC (all?) phones with a front facing camera since the MyTouch4G came out. The software will mirror you so that you see what you'd see in a mirror. this is just plain stupid & I wish it'd show you the mirror image but not actually process the picture that way & leave it like it should be.
So people, there arent any settings to fix this issue?

Is my nexus 5 camera broken?

My nexus camera seems to be broken. The lens constantly moves and shifts around, making non stop clicking. I can't take videos because doing a simple pan results in a shakey video that jumps up down or shakes sideways.
Has anyone else experienced this with their nexus? Is this a hardware problem or the camera focus issue people are talking about? Because this is really bad, worse than just getting unfocused photos..
Edit: I'm thinking my image stabilization is picking up wrong input and trying to correct the lens for no reason resulting in the constant shifting.
From my understanding IS is either working or not, so if the OIS controller was broken I'd get no image stabilization, so it could be software (not just the camera app, something in the internals of the system)
Does anyone have an idea what is wrong and how to fix this?
Is the cell repair shop using oem products to replace?
Sent from this crappy Nexus 5

Camera is blurry

Does any one else have any issue with recorded videos not focusing? Stays blurry when recording.

This may be your issue. If it is, take some toothpaste and rub it with a q-tip for a few minutes.

You tried tapping on the screen to get it to focus? I know it's sounds like a silly question but YOU NEVER KNOW! lol
I guess I didn't give enough info, it does take pics in focus sometimes. Not sure if it is a lighting/crappy camera combo or what. I had one video that was all blurry and the last minute jumped into focus. Just don't know what to make of it.
Unfortunately I tried that but it didn't really work.
Sometime I have to focus on holding my camera really steady or else it gets blurry fast.

The one thing I noticed is it doesnt do it as often to close up stuff. The biggest culprit was in a gym at my daughters cheer competition, a couple weeks in a row it would be in focus then i would click start and it would click out of focus and stay that way even if i tried to refocus. Just baffles me because it used to work really good.

***Rear Camera sensor isn't in the centre of lens

Hey guys.
I just got my new s6 and it appears the the rear camera sensor is not in the middle of the lens. Also when i tilt the phone it may even move, unless its just me seeing things... I'm not entirely sure.
The camera works fine from what i can tell, Should i be worried?
I tried to take a photo but my old phone doesn't pick it up in good enough detail.

No, you should not be worried. This is how OIS works.

do you happen to have some sort of protection (glass or plastic) over the camera's lens ?
i saw a similar thing on a phone that had a protective film over the camera's lens
also, see if you can reproduce on all the cameras or only on one of them

thanks for your input, this happens with the 3x and 10x tele lens, another question, do the device come with some sort of protective film on the cameras out of the box? Because I did not even inspected for it, and I really cant not apreciate it, but of course I dont dare to scratch the lenses to try to figure it out…

I think what he means, are you using a lens protector? If so, that could be your problem. Adding a layer of glass or plastic causes anomalies like this.
I am not using any camera protectors, that is why I found these strange horizontal lines so baffling, I have little time with this device, since Oct 29th, the camera had been funcioning as expected, but yesterday for the first time I began experimenting with some pictures at night, except for the situation of the car headlights, everything else is fine, that is why I asked if these horizontal lines were a normal occurrence

Which camera are you using; stock Camera app or Expert RAW? If stock, what mode did you use?
I am using stock camera, I took the pictures in standard PHOTO mode, no filters, the pictures I posted are 1x, 3x and 10x
Never saw that before. Looks like digital artifacts. Try clearing the system cache and cam data. Hard reset the N10+.
If it's happening on more than one lens it maybe a defective cam module. I don't know. Try posting it on the Samsung members forum.
There is no protective on the lense protector from the factory. Those lines look to be perfectly horizontal and on multiple lens suggesting it's not optical. Unless the protector had some flaw with its anti reflective coating(s). Which could be possible I guess.
Turn off hdr.
Try shooting as a raw image.
Try shooting a vid in similar conditions.
Caused by the LED pulse modulation I believe.
Thanks, I will try what you sugest, btw, I try to wipe cache partition by connecting cable, vol up+side key but it enters download mode instead of recovery, what am I doing wrong?

I'm on Pie and 10, no cable needed.
Maybe that? I think on mine it's suppose to go into download mode if a cable is attached.
I read somewhere that in 11 or 12 you need to be hooked to the PC to enter recovery, I think.
Volume + should bring up the recovery menu.
well, I forgot to tell you this, I got a S22 ultra, as I could not get a note10+ in new condition, anyway, I tried minutes ago the test you sugested, with my car's headlights, and, the horizontal lines now are no longer visible! tried, 1x, 3x, 10x 30x, etc but they are gone, frankly I am baffled… somewhat happy, but if it was some cam glitch it can happen again I'm afraid…
