So I have 4 p925s that I have bought to repair. I decided to update 3 of them to the latest 4.0.4. Everything went smoothly except I noticed 2 of them the touch screen no longer responded after the update. When I touch the screen the soft keys light up as if it recognizes that I am touching it but it does not respond otherwise. One of the phones I had previously had the "show touches" in the developer options and I noticed that if I touched with one finger it would not show up but it 2 fingers it responded however it was chaotic and not as it should (I touch left of screen it shows touch on right. I move fingers up it goes left or down)
after swapping hardware around I noticed that the screens worked on the phone I did not update perfectly and the screen that worked on the 3rd updated phone worked on all three so I know its not the screens. What I figured out is the the screens that didn't work on the updated phones were replacement screens (ebay bought) and the only screens that did work were original screens that were oem.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this issue other then the obvious "buy oem glass and digitizer"

Please help me with this touch screen problem:
In my HTC sensation 4G touchscreen has been replaced (together with display) and as a result I've noticed that device no longer registers fast swipes. No lag or other problems, just when you move finger fast - touchscreen fails to register it. In multitouch tests circle disappears during fast movements and in games like fruit ninja there is no line after the finger. Guys who helped me tried several digitizers they had in stock and all of them had this same problem.
My original digitizer and these ones are probably different models because mine was T-mobile and these have HTC written in the middle.
So I wanted to ask did somebody stumble upon this issue and is there a solution?
Or is it possible that all new ones they've tried are bad?

i have similar issue. my screen doesn't register any touch on the left half, unless i touch the right half a few times first...:/ my digitizer got changed as well. but after that all is fine...only after i turn off the screen, then on again.....it's a little annoying, but not making my device useless at least.
as for to what's the cause, possibly each phone needs a special digitzer...as for the solution, i tried many, nothing worked...
I read of someone with a similar problem, they took screen apart again and found the wire was slightly pinched, they said they carefully put wires back in place and paid extra Attention to the wires and problem was solved. Now, I personally have not tried it but I did read this fix. Maybe it might help, worth a try? Hope this helps!

I'm on the same boat. Dropped it and cracked the screen. So I bought a replacement screen and replaced it myself. Its the one with just the HTC in the middle. (I'm T-mobile) Well now, like yours, it sucks at registering touch accurately. I have to press solidly on the screen to swipe screens or to open apps. Texting sucks because i have to press on each letter good or else it picks the wrong letter. I've searched for a solution as many have had this issue but seems like they just returned it for a new one. I cant since i replaced the screen and voided my warranty. I have taken it apart twice and carefully reassembled it making sure everything is good and snug and in the right place.....Still no love....Sucks! If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated as i have hit a dead end with this issue. Thanks.

this is quite different problem. Sensitivity of my display is OK unless you move fast. In your case it seems to be the problem of this exact screen. Try downloading SGS Touchscreen Booster from Play Store and play with settings.
Dear members,
I would like to know the truth behind the issues faced by the HTC one X, which I read in many websites across the internet(and few here)
I was decided to get one for me untill last week, but the issues what I read for one X confused me.The issues that I came across was;
over heating(guess its obvious for smart phones)
Wi-fi issues(death grip issue)
screen/display flickering,
yellow spots on display,
Frequent black screens,
Restart troubles,
Music player issues(when music player stops when gallery is used)
Taiwan made phone's facing issues over Chineese made ones.
Kindly address these issues ASAP, as I had already made up my mind to go for HOX, so that I can buy one with relaxed mind...
I cant think of any other smartphones as of now.
Thanks in advance

I second this post and would really like to know how current owners are experiencing these issues.
Mine is a Rogers HTC One X.
Got it about 3 weeks ago. Just sent it in for repair, just outside the 14 day exchange range
overheating wise, yes, it can get a bit warm at use but same for any small tightly packed smartphone. I didn't have any wifi issues or any issues you had stated.
The problem with mine was holding the phone vertically. About half way down, there was a 1cm horizontal strip that did not react to touch. Just where the ok and cancel options pop up on some games/apps. You would need to rotate the screen so you could "tap" those buttons and get a reaction.
I turned on the developer mode and the mouse tracking/button press options and you can trace your finger down the screen and you can see where it stops then continues with a 1cm or so gap between where it wasn't responsive. This gap was the entire width of the screen not just a spot or two in that 1cm zone.
The phone was never dropped, bent, sat on etc. Mint screen and case, no case or touchscreen protection. This issue occurred quite suddenly about 16 days in, only noticed it when some games didn't let me exit when hitting the cancel options. Originally thought the game or the app was at issue. Then realized it was the touch screen. Did a full reset a few times, same problems. Now patiently awaiting for my phone back. Rogers phone/loaner suck as well, gave me a Nokia C3 POS as a loaner. Using my old motorola milestone instead.
Ok so I got my prime when it was first released and had an issue with the touch screen selecting multiple numbers when using the SwiftKey app but I though that it was just the app. I started playing great big war game and noticed that I couldn't get any of the guys I would select that were in the middle of the screen to recognized my touch again I thought it the app. It wasn't really until tonight that I noticed using a third app that the middle of my screen seems to have a dead space. I turned on the debugging mode option to show taps and low and behold right In the middle of the screen is a dead spot. If I slide my finger from one side to the other hand slowly at the middle of the screen I get two dots on either side of my finger as if I'm touching those two spots at the same time but my finger is really in the middle of the two. That's the only place that it does it. Does anyone else have this issue? I took a screen shot of the two spots so you can see.
Suggestions? Similar issues?

I haven't posted in a while but am rather frustrated with the quality control on the 10.1's I've encountered.
The first one I bought the screen was totally glitched out. Couldn't even initiate the start up screen.
I returned the lemon and got second one about 2 and a half months ago. It's been perfect....until tonight. I have never really used the S PEN until as of late but it's fantastic so I've obviously been using it more and more. I've noticed a 1 inch bar deadspot while using the S PEN. Place your Note landscape and it's about 3 inches from the left side and this 1 inch bar goes from the top of the screen to the bottom (when in Landscape). Over that region I described, the S PEN WILL NOT work. It works fine as a touch screen, just not with the S PEN. I've rebooted, turned it on and off, tried it on different applications, even took the case off in case the magnetized case was causing it, etc. I'm running a rooted stock 4.1.2 JB rom.
Luckily I purchased it from Costco and my 90 days is up the 2nd week of May.
This thing is definitely going back soon, but, how can I justify buying another one when I've gotten two defective ones??
I'm not sure what else is out there on the Android tablet front, but I think I'll be in the market soon.
Could just be a bad batch the store got. If there was a problem with their shipment then thats just bad luck for the consumer, besides, everyone knows that third times the charm....
And it really is worth trying again for, no other android tablet has the spen which is a really good little thing to have....
It's not inside a case containing magnets is it? Some of these can interfere with the digitiser
Beacause you are using it while charging.

Hello, guys.
Recently, I dropped my M2 on the street, resulting in cracked touchscreen and lcd. Replaced both the touch and the lcd, everything seemed normal until I noticed that the middle part of the touch (a line going from the left to the right, around 1cm height) doesn't work, it just doesn't respond. Later, I got another new touchscreen and same story - same part of the screen doesn't work.
Maybe we have some kind of defect touch screens here in Bulgarian stores? Though I bought the two touches from two seperate stores. Or it's possible that it's something with the lcd? Even though it works normally, no strange behavior, no black spots, scratches or anything. Or could it be a software problem? Using Android 5.0.
Thanks in advance.
More likely to be motherboard problem if it's the same with 2 different screens being installed
Thanks for your answer.
One thing I forgot to mention - when testing the screen in Sony's Sketch app or in the service menu, if I run my finger from the top to the bottom, or the opposite way quickly, sometimes, the lines my finger makes don't get cut, i.e. it's like the screen is functioning properly, with no dead spots. What does this mean?
According to Sony support, it could be a compatibility issue between the phone/touchscreen/LCD, what do you think?
