[Q] Codename Lungo CM11, stuck at android logo first boot. - HTC Sensation

Hello,
This is my first post. I have searched throughout for an answer but nothing seems to point me in the right direction. So here it goes:
I have an HTC sensation Z710e with:
Kernel : 3.016-ga462f5f (stock)
Unlocked bootloader
CWM 5 flashed
Rooted (obvious i guess, just to be thorough )
S-OFF.
So far so good. I followed the rules/tutorials to the letter and managed to flash the Codename Lungo CM11 version on my phone. On first reboot (before going for the GAPPS as instructed ) the device passes the HTC logo and gets stuck on the android loading logo. Tried it twice with the same results, had to revert to my recovery to get back to working condition.
Is it/could be a kernel issue?
Any tips/advice would be more than welcome.
PS: I wanted to post it in the related thread but no access for me yet :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1930403

Format the data partition along with system/cache and dalvic cache before flashing the ROM.
Edit: Data partition can be formatted by factory rest operation. Not sure though.

[Q] Stuck at HTC booting screen after flashing Cm9 alpha4 or aokp

Please help. When i first received my HTC One X, i had it rooted and the boot loader unlocked. TWRP recovery is also installed. The first thing i did was flash Clean Rom 3 LE and it booted up and was working perfectly. A few days later, i attempted to flash Cm9 alpha4 and after telling TWRP to reboot, it would just sit at the HTC screen for over twenty minutes. I tried restoring my backup and re downloading the file but it still failed. At this point i had just thought that it must be an issue with the rom on my phone, so i downloaded aokp rom from rootzwiki. I did a factory reset and cleared my caches, but it would then get stuck at the HTC screen, and then proceed to the recovery as if i had never flashed the rom. Any help is really appreciated. Thank you
If nothing else work, you can run one of the RUUs. But it will wipe data, and you will need to root, unlock bootloader (?) and install recovery again.
Thanks, but I am able to plug my phone into my mac and get to the recovery via terminal. I can then flash Clean rom and it will boot up and work fine. I'm wondering if this is an issue flashing any non-Sense based roms.
I've Flashed miui and cm9 and aokp with no problems. Did you flash the ones found in our development section? The ones in the International section won't work.
Try redownloading the zips. Make sure you wipe everything a couple times.
In the TWRP recovery wipe menu select cache, factory reset, and system then install CM9. This should fix your problem.
I flashed the ones found in our development section. Is there any extra step that I have to take. I did a factory reset, cleared my cache and dalvik cache, and then flashed the rom. I then cleared my cache and dalvik cache and then rebooted.

I don't think it's casuing the problem but the 2nd cache and dalvik clearning aren't necessary.

Still not working, but thank you for the advice. If it helps any, its stuck at the first HTC screen where it tells you in red that the software is for development purposes only.

Ok. Flash a rom you know works. Get the phone running then do a fresh download of cm9 alpha 4. Before you install it do a backup in recovery in case it's borked again.

if it's LOCKED that's probably your problem. Unlock it. There's no reason to re-lock it anyway.

SuPrimo v23 with CDMA Converter v15

I installed these to my girlfriends one v from Virgin and am having problems. I have a one x and an atrix before so I am not new to rooting. This has me stumped. I bootloader unlocked, rooted and installed twrp via fastboot. I installed kernel in fastboot that was in the converter zip, then I installed the rom and converter in twrp. I am now in a constant bootloop. I have read that the bootloop is caused by not installing the boot image in fastboot, but I have done this. I know there are a lot of threads of this but I still have not find a solution to my problem. I actually in the process of using the Sprint/Virgin ruu as I am typing this to try again with a fresh start. Is there anything I am missing? Thank you very much in advance.
Edit: Sorry I didn't realize I was in the One X forum, it is 330am right now ><. Can a Mod please move this to the Q&A of the One V please. Thank you

Did a factory reset, cache and dal vic in both twrp then cwm after. I even tried a different rom and still boot loop after ruuing, so I ruued twice last night. Funny thing is I have never ruued my one X and the first night I try to flash stuff on the one v that happens.
All is well now. I wen to sleep for a fresh start to this. I factory wiped, wiped cache, dalvic and system. I flashed rom and converter, then fastboot flashed boot image. Now all is working. :highfive:

What happens when you try to go to recovery? Where did you get the ROM? Did you full wipe (system, data, cache)? Can you reboot into the bootloader? What is shown there?
I believe there's a fix for that over the desire hd section. Not sure about that over here. It's an issue with the rom itself.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Telus T989D stuck on Koodo logo after rooting

Hi There,
So, I have a Samsung Galax S2 Telus SGH-T989D phone and I decided to root it using the 4.4 KitKat and it went well and everything was great.
However, afterwards to resolve some other issues I was having I decided to make the mistake of loading the gapps which was for another
package into my phone and that messed everything up!
So, I have been struggling with the phone and first it wouldn't let me install another ROM from recovery and kept on giving me error 7 and 6
But, I fixed that and now I can install any ROM from the recovery or Odin (download mode) without any errors.
However:
The phone vibrates , brings up the galaxy logo and then the Koodo logo appears and a bar fills up quickly under it but it never goes away!!!
Phone freezes there and that's that!! Even after taking out the battery I noticed the logo was still stuck on the screen where as normally
it goes blank!!
So, at this point I am not sure what else to do! This is annoying and I'm tired of experimenting. I went through some XDA foroums here and
tried the Super Vipe (taking out the battery has been tried, factory reset and wiping the cache all have been tried)
So, please please please help me out here. I used to have a MyTouch4G which I rooted with CyanogenMod back in the day and it's the most
stable thing ever and all I wanted to do was to perform the same thing on my Galaxy S2 and boom not this time!!!
Awaiting your response and thanks in advance

Thank you for your reply. However, as I've mentioned before, I've already tried those (from ODIN and through RECOVERY) with multiple different
ROMS and it's not doing anything which is why I am posting this here.

Did you perform a FULL wipe? Custom recovery -> format ALL partitions except EFS?
I have tried the Super Vipe off the SD card through the recovery mode and also from recovery I've tried the wipe cache,
factory reset and wipe cache partitions.
I am not sure about "format ALL partitions except EFS" nor am I aware of the procedure.
How would I perform that?
Have you installed a working custom recovery?

Yes I'm able to successfully install recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.7-hercules or CWM_Root_Superuser_3.1.3_Busybox_1.20.2
from the recovery without any errors (same if rooted through Odin)
If there's a specific ROM you are thinking about please let me know and I will be more than glad to give it a shot.
You really should use a newer recovery version. But for now go to mounts and storage and format all partitions except EFS. Then try flashing stock firmware via Odin
Here you can get the latest recovery for your device --> TWRP for hercules

Do you have a working link for downloading the stock firmware? I have downloaded few and none of them even let me install them (status 0 error)
Any ideas?
Odin is already being used v3.0.7

I was able to finally bring it up!!
Basically I looked for a stock firmware for T-Mobile and after formatting the phones multiple times I tried this ROM
using ODIN and it got rid of the Koodo logo and replaced it with a T-Mobile logo and then it BOOM loaded to start screen finally!!
I was about to hammer the phone. So, trust me I was very happy to see it work.
Thank you for your quick and helpful response :good:

The first boot always takes longer as it is setting up, but no longer than ~5 minutes.
Anyway... If you've waited and it is boot looping, try these steps:
Make sure your recovery is up to date.
Wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik cache.
Flash ROM, gapps, and any addons
Wipe cache and dalvik
Reboot. After first reboot is complete and on setup screen, wait 5 minutes and reboot into recovery.
Wipe cache and dalvik again. Reboot
This reboot could also take ~5 minutes, but the others shouldn't as long as you don't wipe cache and dalvik.
You should see an "Android is Upgrading" screen. After this is done, complete setup and you should be good to go.

Back to stock rom for now, prepare (charge until full).
Re-root, then reboot to recovery to try again flashing the rom.
Always format /system, /cache, /data/media first when installing different roms. Good luck

Stock rom is working fine? Is root working on stock?
Did you get any errors while flashing costom roms?
I remember a folk here got a same problem as you, and i think it's not resolved yet..
Maybe you and him have a "special" devices.
Don't worry, it's not a problem with your ext-sd because i use it all the time. and if it was ext-sd problem, you'll get an error while flashing.
I suggest messages devs in developement section, maybe they can figure out what is wrong.
And of course i think it's not safe to restore others nandroid backup, so don't mind find it.
God speed, wish I can help you more

Like I said earlier, you should have flashing stock rom first to remove root via odin/hemidall.. you can find it at sammobile, com
then re-root with link i gave earlier again via odin/hemidall, and format in recovery like i said earlier. no wonder you still fail..
you should have philz touch recovery instead cwm if you succeed.
