Xolo Q1000 Opus Hacking and General Discussion Thread
This thread is dedicated to all the people owning a Xolo Q1000 opus. As there was no specific thread for this device I made a thread containing all the development till now for this device with further development coming....!!
First of all Please do remember I ain't a developer myself...Since there was no thread for development of this phone I made the thread by the suggestion of fellow XDA member kartikoli....So if you think you can do more development feel free to post your stuff on this thread...
This thread is not like I will only do the development you too can do some and post it here...
And secondly, Do not quote the whole post quote that part in whose context you are asking your question..
Feel free to ask any question...!!
Rooting Tutorial
You will need the following before proceeding:-
1. Kingo Root App which can be downloaded from their official website.links http://www.kingoapp.com/android-root.htm
2. ADB drivers ( Tutorial Below)
Now how to install ADB drivers...
1. Connect your phone with your PC.
2. After Connecting from the notification panel tap on Connected as USB Storage and then tap on Installer CD.
3. As soon as you connect it as installer CD an icon called "iAmCdrom" will appear in My Computer window, open it and copy the androidadb folder in USBDrivers folder to your desktop.
4. Now disconnect your phone. And in the developer option check the USB Debugging option. (Developer options can be unlocked by tapping 6-7 times on the build number in the about device menu).
5. Now connect your phone again with USB debugging on and from the Connected as CD option select USB storage.
6. In the system properties click on device manager (For Win7 and up) OR hardware>device manager(for Win XP).
7. Click on Android USB Devices and under it right click on android USB Devices and click on update drivers.
8. Choose manual location and navigate to the place you saved the folder in Step 3.
9. It will install the drivers and now you have ADB Drivers on your PC.
How to root:-
1. Install the Kingo Root app downloaded from the links above and open it.
2. Connect the phone with USB debugging enabled.
3. It will detect your phone and as soon as it detects your phone a Root option will be shown in the app. Click on it.
4. The phone will be rebooted automatically and as soon as the phone is rebooted it is ROOTED!!!
5. You can check your root by the Root checker app which can be founded on Play Store.
More Development Coming Soon!!! Feel free to ask any question and post your stuff on this thread..

Hi.. I, too, own the opus. I am from India.
FYI the Xolo Q1000 Opus is called Mobiistar touch Lai 504Q in Vietnam. it's the same device, different name.
I recently soft-bricked my phone after corrupting the /system partition. And I couldn't flash the stock ROM because the stock Recovery (like in most devices) does not allow /system flashing. Now I was stuck as none of the flashing methods that work for qualcomm devices work for this phone. And the Stock Recovry sucks (You can still use the Stock Recovery to HARD RESET the OPUS though)
I gave it to the service center. let's hope they don't charge me anything.
I will be installing minhdangoz's CWM after I get it back. Since I am a programmer I will try to go through the code and maybe help out and make a fully working CWM for the Opus. Wish me Luck.
P.S. to boot into Recovery (I learnt it from the Vietnamese forums):
1. Hold Power button for 3 seconds till phone vibrates.
2. When Phone Vibrates,Let go of the Power button.
3. Quickly press and hold the Volume-Up button till recovery loads (you probably don't have to hold it that long).
EDIT:
post kit kat update.. to enter stock recovery:
To get into Stock Recovery of Xolo Q1000 Opus (Mobiistar touch Lai 504Q in Vietnam) do the following:
1. Hold Power button for 3 seconds till phone vibrates.
2. When Phone Vibrates, Leave the Power button.
3. Quickly press and hold the Volume UP+DOWN (together) button till recovery loads (you probably don't have to hold it that long).

Does anyone else is facing he same issue as I am facing:
3 days back I got the notification that the system upgrade is available. I checked and it was 4.4.2 upgrade for my Xolo Q1000 Opus. I downloaded file of size approx 250mb and installed it. But since then I am not able to turn my wifi on. I contacted Xolo helpline and they say that I have to give the phone to their service center
Has anybody faced such problem?
Any workaround for this problem?
Your help is appreciated.
Thanks
Puneet

TWRP 2.4.1.0 for Xolo Q800
back37's TWRP 2.4.1.0 port works with this method.
You can get it from here http://ge.tt/92j62db/v/0
You have to follow the same procedure described in the original post in this thread, just use this recovery.img instead of the recovery.img given in the first post if you want TWRP instead of CWM.
and then for root, using TWRP, install the zip file for SuperSU that is attached in the first post in this thread. For instructions on how to do this, refer to the first post in this thread.
Xolo Q800 running TWRP - http://i.imgur.com/CQZczYy.jpg
Just FYI, the TWRP that I've linked to is for Fly IQ446, which the same phone as Xolo Q800 but with a different name. So, the phone is recognized by TWRP as Fly IQ446.
Switch off your mobile. :
Plug the charger in.
Press the volume button up and press power button together.
Release both the keys and again press vol + again . ;D
The recovery menu would appear. ;D ;D

Here's my honest opinion:
My previous phone was the Galaxy Y DUOS with a 200 INR nCase screen protector + a 300 INR nCase back case. After applying the screen protector, the touch was great.
Now for the XOLO Q800. The phone comes with a pre-applied screen protector as well as an extra one. The touch is pretty good - better than the Micromax A89 (a friend had bought it recently). I mainly use SwiftKey (a lot) and as you might have heard, its the best Android keyboard out there. I must say that I am loving the typing experience.
The battery backup is good - considering the fact that the WiFi was on for almost 10-12 hours and the battery went from 100 to 17 in that time.
I don't game on my phone, but I've installed some so my bro could play and he says that the touch/responsiveness of the screen is great!
As for the display, at 70% brightness, the phone is clearly visible outdoors at 12 noon under the bright sunlight.
Hope this helps!

Glad to be of help mate. You should totally order the phone man, its a worthy phone. That's all I have to say.
A couple of notes with regard to the service center:
1. XOLO does not have a dedicated service center.
2. If your phone goes kaput or malfunctions, you can call XOLO Care in their toll free number or SMS or email them.
3. The only thing that you have to have is your product's IMEI number - that's they way they'll know that you really own the product.
4. Once you have informed them of your problem, a XOLO care personnel will come to your residence or office address and take your phone and give you some official documents.
5. The phone will be taken to the service center and returned to your preferred address within a week via courier service.
6. There's an app called XOLO Care which comes pre-installed in your phone. Its got all the details there. The app also notifies you of any pending software update.
How do I know points 1-5? Simple. The salesman told me.
Hope this helps!

I rooted my phone using "Framaroot app" by Boromir exploit and also installed Superuser.
Using ROM Toolbox pro, I changed the system font on my device.
But when I tried to revert to the system font, the phone wont turn on; (I also forgot to take a Nandroid backup)
The phone gets stuck at the boot logo.
I can enter recovery mode, and I also factory reset my phone, wiped cache, etc, but its of no use (first it turns on and then after the boot logo animation, nothing happens....)
Is my phone bricked????
Please help.......

[Q] MTK phone doesn't turn on

Hi, i have an Y9190 with a MTK6572 chipset. I installed the Xposed Framework, SetCPU, Swapper, Link2SD at the same time, and many hours later the phone was rebooting by himself, without doing nothing. I tried to do a factory reset two times and... same problem. The phone continued to reboot. I found here on XDA the ROM for this phone. Can I install the .RAR from the recovery, clicking on "install update from sdcard"? It's the only option and I didnt find clockworkmod for this model.
By the way, now my phone doesn't wants to turn on! When I connect it to the PC, I can hear the Windows sound of connected device in every 30 seconds, but MTKTools doesn't finds it.
Help me, please!

Hey folks i cant root my xolo Q600s by root genius. So help me in rooting it
Also i need a custom recovery for Q600s.
THANKS in advance......
So I finally did it...
I own a XOLO Q600S too, and I was looking for tutorials on rooting it. Oh, don't go at my cover. That was 3-4 years ago. So I was like a noob onto this, and either I had to do it the hard way or the one click way...
Unfortunately NONE of those One Click apps worked fine enough... Here is why :
Root Genius - Didn't have drivers. I tried installing the ADB drivers that I could find for XOLO Q600S but it never worked!
KingRoot - Useless app for my device. No matter how many times I tried running it, it either crashed or was unsuccessful.
vRoot/iRoot - 10 tries and all failed. The device would disconnect after some time and then it'd say
Waiting for Device

after which again, you gotta repeat the whole process. It was an infinite loop.
So in the end, none of them worked... except when I used them all together! Here's how you can root.
Download vRoot Windows App and iRoot Android App - It has the drivers for our device. After some tries, I was able to connect my device to my PC.
Download Root Genius for Windows - Now open Root Genius. Your device is connected and you can see that huge "ROOT" button in front of you. Press it and let it do its job. It will probably restart your device to finish the process. Once done, you will have that Kinguser app on your phone, which is like a root app.
It is kind of lame, I doubt all of you faced the same problem as me. You might have never faced the driver problem, but I, being on Windows 10 Technical Preview did face the driver problem and had to resolve it in this manner. So long as it worked out
I have tired, by you said, but nothing is working!! Please Help me root my XOLO Q600s

Check if adb and drivers are working.
Working package can be found HERE on XDA.
Activate "USB-debugging" on your phone (Important!)
Open commandline on your computer while phone is copnnected via USB and type:
adb devices (To check if your device is found)
If your device is found, you can use the root methods mentioned above
I tried that too
Do you have any video tutorial to root xolo Q600s?
