Hello,
My Xperia Z broke and I sold it. Last week I bought a Nexus 5 (white) and yesterday the touchscreen suddenly stopped working while browsing twitter. I rebooted and the touchscreen worked for 1 sec and then it stopped working again. It keeps working for 1 - 5 sec and then stops.
Is there a way I can fix this? The phone is rooted because I wanted to copy WhatsApp over from another phone because I lost my sim bound to whatsapp.
I can go to the shop I bought it and get it fixed under warranty because I did not do anything weird with the phone nor dropped it. but first I want to see if it can be fixed from home or if it is a software problem because the shop is a hour drive and I don't want to do without my phone for another 2 weeks.
Here is a video how it looks: youtube(dot)com/watch?v=EsSyC50Dksw
Thanks in advance!

So i tried to put a factory image on my Nexus because my phone kept on boot looping. Putting a factory image and restoring everything and unrooting was my last resort. I literally tried everything. So now as I'm in terminal about to be finish the process, my computer freezes and crashes. Now my phone sits on the boot loader screen. Not doing . I tried turning it off and turning it on and it only goes back to the boot loader screen. Anything I do it goes back to the boot loader screen. Doesn't even show the google logo anymore. NOthing at all. Only the boot loader screen. So anyone have any advice?
ANYONE????!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!
If you were flashing via fastboot and your computer crashed you may be totally effed.

Hold both the volume buttons + the power button down for 20 seconds and see if the phone powers off.

If you can get to the bootloader you should be able to flash the factory image. Have you tried running that again?

Okay, I'm assuming you have ADB/Fastboot set up. Do you have the factory image components in the same folder as fastboot?

Hello XDA developers!
I hope you can help me with a serieus problem on my Nexus5 Device!
Let's tell you my little adventure with my Nexus5 :
First my Nexus5 Device worked perfectly, but then the radiobaseband and the sensors magically dissapeared!
https://db.tt/cdZiSukZ i've tooked some screenshots of it on dropbox.
Then I Flashed the factory image for my device by following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701
And it started to work perfectly, till now........
after about a week i watched a unspecified video on Google Chrome and the screen freezed ( not literally )
So I hold the power button and turn it off, turn it back on and i got a infinity bootloop.
So I flash again the official factory image and it can't flash my system?
its look like this;
trying to flash system.img....
FAILED
the rest of the process flash succesfull until it reach system.img
and a friend of mine therinsem tried to add a custom recovery and it didn't work, so we flashed again the factory image and it still FAILED,
to flash system.img the rest of the process work until it reach system.img.
now it doesn't even boot? it's only going straight into fastboot-mode
and if i press in fastboot-mode recoverymode than it shows nothing? ( i think because we tried to flash a custom recovery )
- iv'e tried on a bunch of diffrent windows laptop's
- i can't access the internal storage of the device
- i can still '' side-load'' I think
so this is my problem with the nexus5, does anyone have a solution?:crying:
Download the factory image again and make sure the md5 checks. Then try again
There's another thread around here somewhere with pretty much the same issue. Sounds like bad memory. From fastboot try:
Code:
fasboot format system
If that succeeds reflash the factory image. If that fails your most likely looking at RMA.
I wouldn't really since google will charge you twice for tampering with the imei

Sometimes it happens that you lose your imei. Flashing the factor image can bring it back. Nothing nefarious going on

I think my nexus 5 is hardbricked doing a paanodandroid ota update
This happened on latest paranoid android + latest franco kernel + TWRP
I wanted to update pa gapps (first 2 downloads md5 checksum failed, third time it worked) and when the phone booted afterwards, systemui failed and I couldn't do anything. I Thought this wasn't a big problem since the phone managed to boot. I long pressed the power button to shut it down so I could boot into recovery to restore my backup I had recently made. When I tried to boot into recovery it wouldn't do anything. Not boot into recovery and not into fastboot. How is this even possible by simply flashing gapps?
What should I do?
I've tried all the button combinations for more than 15 seconds.

I think it was just a coincidence that it failed after flashing gapps. I'd RMA it. Sounds like the emmc went bad. It's happened on a few n5's.

That's a bit good news . Thank you
As i mentioned I managed to boot once into the (not working) rom after the (corrupted I think) gapps package had been installed, does that mean that the gapps file cannot have messed up the bootloader since I already managed to boot once after installing the package?

I hope you got a Backup.
You can boot into recovery and delete cache and dalvik.
If this does not help, try a factory reset. If this still does not work you might need to flash the latest image using Fastboot.
There is a tut here in the forum
