Every time I reboot stock ROM Franco kernel with art I get one app that says optimizing. Is there anyway to figure out what that is

Pretty sure you would need an adb logcat to clear up this mystery.
Is there an app I can get or must it be from a cpu

you can logcat with an app, when the phone is booted up already. but to see a logcat while its booting, you need to do it via adb while connected to your computer.
Saw in a random N4 thread about ART that if you have apps that aren't ART compliant, then you will have that on every reboot. Haven't tested myself as I don't care about ART since Xposed is more important to me, but would make sense.

Whenever I open betterbatterystats i get this error (even after rebooting). So far I'm rooted, unlocked, and have cwm installed and thats it. Ive seen screenshots of other N5 users, so what could be wrong with mine?

All battery monitoring doesn't support atm on Kitkat. You may check BBS XDA Thread to try a beta release.
Otherwise you may wait for Xposed Framework and apply this module: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2519744
Same thing for me, Im really sad about this...
There's an official thread on xda..and the beta is posted. Works great for me on kit kat

I have just got my nexus 5 a day ago running stock rom stock kernel, rooted with clockworkmod in play and I'm trying to turn on ART, the system asks to reboot and when it does there is no upgrading process when the device boots, I in to dev options and it indicates it's still using David, I've tried this over and over again and nothing, anyone have a clue what I'm doing wrong?

Hi,
Do you use Xposed framework and modules?
If yes it's normal because they are not compatible with ART, and makes revert to Dalvik runtime automatically.
If no, sorry I don't know...
I do use exposed, that's a real shame, what if I was to use a custom Rom like omni would it still revert back?

So yes it's due to Xposed and you can't do anything until the devs will make it compatible...
No you can use ART with another rom but not with Xposed, whatever the rom with Xposed you can't use ART...

You have to read the Xposed thread before using it...I am really desperate for the X to be working correctly on ART qq...

I don't think I ever tried recording video before but I tried today. It will go to the recording part of the camera app but nothing happens when I press the red button. Searching yielded nothing.

Wipe dalvik, wipe cache! If not do a factory reset.

Installing Franco kernel fixed the issue if anyone runs into this in the future

I have used franko.kernel updater before and I really like being able to flash and backup a kernel from within the app, I have not flashed a custom kernel on the nexus 5 since I got it so the question is:
What good alternatives are out there to flash kernels from the phone itself?
Thanks.

Falsify if it's an image file. Your recovery if its a zip.
I totally forgot I could flash a kernel via recovery, I also downloaded "kernel tweaker" from the play store and it seems nice.
Thanks

Why don't you just use FKU?
I used it when I had a nexus 4 a long time ago, I was looking for a new alternative just to see if there was anything better.
