[Q] NEED HELP!! phone wont boot and lost recovery - General Questions and Answers

Hey Guys,
ive been looking all over for a solution cant find anything.
I'm fairly new to this.. I have this prism 2 i have been messing around on. anyways i tried flashing stock rom and completely messed it up.i dont know what is wrong. the phone wont boot at all. ive lost recovery.
the phone is rooted and bootloader unlocked. i got the unlock code from huawei.
also when i connect the phone to my laptop. i get 2 devices named linux Files-cd gadget
i was going to just repartion the whole phone and reinstall everything.
but when i try and repartion i get an error saying /dev not found
if there is any else you need me to post let me know
also if this is in the wrong area i apologize.
Thanks

a pity for all phones compared to computers is that they don't have bios or similar, so when it's broken the rom firmware also flash fail is very difficult to fix especially for self tinker like me.

[Q] I need help, Please?

Hi, I'm new to these threads. I have a problem with my phone that I need help with. I can't seem to find help any where. Okay, so here is my problem.
My girlfriend has a Samsung Galaxy S I500 (fascinate I guess) and earlier this week, she was looking on a website and the screen just went black. She tried to restart the phone and it went as normal then black again. When it was powered on, it would load like normal then when it was suppose to go to the home screen, it would just go black. I tried to fix it for her and ended up messing it up even more by re-partitioning it and installing the wrong firmwares or something:/ (im an iPhone guy). Now, i have tried and tried all week to find the files i need to restore her phone to 2.1 software which is what it was (i think). But obviously, megaupload.com is down and all the files i think i need are on there. I just need the files to get her phone back to stock. She got the phone from C Spire. Can anyone help, PLEASE? im getting so frustrated.
sounds like you need the stock ruu and need to flash it. I am fairly new to android and I had to do that on my HTC. Try googling for your phone's ruu file (from samsung) and then flash it.

[Q] Admire Android os

ok so i have a samsung admire from metro pcs CDMA i put cwm v5 on it and i formatted everything cuz it was bricked so now i have a samsung admire with no os cuz i deleted th /system /data and everything else you can think of so now what????
I think what you're going to have to do is use a piece of software called Odin and push the OS onto the phone via USB. Since you can't plug your phone into the computer and just drag and drop a ROM onto the SD card (since you have no OS) this is probably your best bet. Look to see if you can use Odin with your phone.
yeah i can you use odin i dont know were to find the os and i used odin to get clockwork recovery on my phone
Hey, I found this forum for you regarding the samsung admire, it might help they provide the stock rom and rooted rom for your phone aswell as instructions using odin.

Goof luck restoring your phone!!!

Try and search on google things like "how to unbrick samsung admire" etc. You may be lucky and other people might have had the same problem as you.
Goof Luck!

[Q] samsung repp sch-r680 bootloop/softbrick?/?

Ok im an admitted "noob" to the whole android/linux op but not technically challenged at all.. and i researched ALL the info availible before rooting my alltel samsung repp (sch-r680) supposedly its an american clone of an another "galaxy gio", think its an asian model or something... anyway, i made a very careless mistake and erased my backup and system files and now am stuck in a bootloop... i can still access download mode and clockwork recovery but ive tries to flash stock roms with odin, install zips and restore backups(that i copied to my device via usb)... but nothing works, all the nandroid.md5 files respond with mismatch errors, and when i try to flash with odin, either the file passes and is useless to fix the problem or it gives an error something like "odin multidownloader has developed an error and closing"... ive been looking into flashing with fastboot or adb, i have all the neccessary files just havent figured out how to successfully execute... oh, and im having problems running some executable files (.exe), even at the comand prompt,(which im not alll that fluent in command prompt syntax). i know this is not a very popular model, and my carrier store (alltel) is like the last one standing i think but the same model is marketed by us cellular... anyway, sorry for the extremely long message, but i wanted to provide as much info as possible, so if anyone can help id greatly appreciate it... ive been without my andoid for like a week now and seperation anxiety is starting to set in.. pls help!!!
Also, i cant mount my system in cwm or through adb... Dont know if thatll help find a solution but i know its a problem within itself...

[Q] Here is what I have managed to do to my phone

THIS IS A QUOTESounds like you corrupted the partitions flashing all those bootloaders. There is really no random problems that pop up which can be solved by flashing bootloaders. You only need those if you specifically mess up your bootloader, or you need to update it. But you have successfully messed it up beyond my talent. If flashing the stock nj2 .tar in odin didn't fix it, you may need to use a debrick image. But I've never gotten myself in a position to need that so maybe someone else ca n chime in here. END QUOTE
This is what appears to be what I have done to my phone. I can boot to recovery and download mode but nothing I have tried so far has gotten me past that. {Another thing that bothers me is trying to get win7 to load the correct drivers for my phone. I've even tried turning off my internet connection but it still doesn't seem to install right except in kies or oden.} I tried to flash an SD card with a debrick image:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2660566 but nothing happened. I have the unified android skipsoft toolbox on my pc but I can't get win7 to install the correct drivers for the phone to use it! If someone can help I sure would appreciate it. The phone was rooted with a stock rom MK 4.1.2. I rooted it with Kies a couple of years ago. It's a Sprint SPH-L710 16GB I can't get the serial # because it won't boot to let me get it. I don't have the box.

Hey,i need some help with a samsung phone

Hi to all of you.I got given an old samsung galaxy s4 mini(GT-I9192)and the person who gave it said it was broken if you can fix it you can keep/sell it.I tried opening it but it didnt respond to any keys even when i tried download/recovery/power on.As i researched online it seems to me that the device has been hardbricked. The guy who gave it to me said he had sent it to a store to repair and said that his cpu was not functioning anymore for both of his s4 minis which doesnt seem to happen just for the 2 phones that 1 person buys and because i live in Albania services arents so great. When i tried to install a custom rom from odin(latest to this date)it wouldnt recognise it but when i plugged the phone in windows made tge sound that something was plugged in and then shortly after it made the disconnecting sound whoch gives me a reason to think that the device may still be alive.I came here since this is the most know site for tech stuff.I havent seen any kind of bricking before but i read tgat the soft bricked devices just need a clean install and to wipe cache and dalvik which gives it the look when it was bought.Ive seen that you can pay for jtag or try a usb jig but i dont want to spend any money since i have a better phone (galaxy j5 2017) and i just wanted to see if i could use it to experiment with roms root and stuff on there.
Any help will be appriciated and if i have any mistakes in my languagee im sorry because as i said im from Albania and not USA/UK

Download and install the full set of USB drivers for Samsung phones. This might be part of your connection/disconnection issue.
https://developer.samsung.com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows
On your Windows system, go to Control Panel>Device Manager, then connect your device, when you connect it, watch the Device Manager window, if your device connects, it should have something appear on your list of devices. Try to see what the list shows when the device connects, even if it still just a momentary connection, then come back here and post what it says. This will give me a better idea of what is going on with the device.
If what your friend told you about the CPU's being bad is true, you won't be able to fix the device(s) unless you replace the motherboard(s).
Some Samsung devices with locked bootloaders also have a hardware component called a Q-fuse, if someone attempts to flash a custom recovery or anything else custom on the device, it trips Q-fuse which then "burns" the fuse, rendering the device inoperably hardbricked. This is probably what was attempted on the devices you have. If this is what happened, you won't be able to fix it, not even Samsung themselves can fix this, all they can do is salvage the device to reclaim any possible usable hardware components.

Thanks for the reply.First things to start,my friend doesnt mess up with loading custom roms as he doesnt have much knowledge on technology.Next, when i connected the device the first time it showed me the name QSHUSB_DLOAD(or smth like that because i am not avaible to use the computer right now).I tried installing some drivers and i will edit the name that i got when i use the computer in a matter of a hour or two.

Everything you're describing is exactly the results one gets when someone tries to flash something custom via Odin, or when trying to update the device via Odin but the wrong firmware is flashed.
Generally, the only to fix this is to send the device to a professional shop to have a JTAG service performed on the device(s) or replace the motherboard.
From what you describe, I believe the devices are permanently hardbricked, the only solution then is to replace the motherboard. Other than that, you're wasting your time.

Well feom what i know he doesnt know anything about odin or flashing a new rom since he doesnt even know what a rom is.Then again he hasnt done a factory reset since he doesnt know how.And he has even said that hasnt done anything else than getting it out of the box putting a sim card and just using it.If there is anything we can try to bring it to life by trying to flash a new custom rom or the original rom from an sd card or a usb flash drive(since i have the converter from charging port to usb).Anyways i was just trying to see if i could bring it to life and idk maybe give it to someone else or sell it.
Thanks for your help for the tips you have given me amd for the help that you may give in advance

If you can find a "debrick.img" or "unbrick.img",(sometimes, these files are debrick.bin or unbrick.bin), there is a method that involves burning the .img or .bin file on an sdcard to create a type of "bootable disk" to restore the device. The only way to get a copy of this file is from a rooted device with the same model number as yours, try to find one that someone has already creates and made available or try finding someone in this forum that has a device like yours with the same model number and then have them pull a copy of debrick.img from their device and upload it for you to download and use for your device.
Here is a thread for doing this on a galaxy S3, if you can find the specific debrick file for your exact model number, you can try this method. Use the method and the tools as described in the thread, you just need to make sure that any device specific files used in the method are those files for your specific model number.

Use an sdcard, the thread that I linked has instructions for returning the sdcard to normal usage after you're done getting the device restored. No, you can not use a debrick.img or any other file from a device with a different model number, it has to be for YOUR SPECIFIC MODEL NUMBER I have told you that in every one of my replies here, that is a MUST, it is not "optional".
Stop looking for shortcuts, I know it isn't easy to find what you need but there are no substitutes, do it the right way or don't do it at all.
