As most you know Nextel was shut down in the U.S but in Latin America still has a fair share of the market, they still have the old iDen network and now they have their new HSDPA+ network to keep giving the same old Direct Connect service that gives Nextel that unique feeling thay released the app Prip.
Prip is just a walkie talkie app to give their new phones a direct connect ptt feeling it works through 3G data and to be honest is really good, it gives a Nextel ID to recieve your calls and even you can call to the old iDen network with this app. If you are in the U.S you just have to install the app and pay a monthly fee of 2 Dollars, in Latin America you need to be a subcriber of Nextel.
In Mexico where i live Nextel is pretty popular but their customer service is really poor that's why i decided to cancel my service and switch to other carrier then i installed the app (the U.S version not the mexican) and used the market enabler to fool the to think i am in a US carrier.
But i found some people who is selling this app on the Internet but without the need of rooting your phone, doing some research i discover they modded the apk file to jump the carrier authentication.
Since i don't know anything about coding apk's i was hoping if someone could help me modding the apk to jump the sim mcc/mnc verification from what i heard is not a hard process and im not planning to sell the app my main reason to ask this is because i think is unfair to sell the app at ridiculous prices and not trying share the information of what did they do to make the app work, also im planning to share the app in all the mexican forums.
So if somebody is kind enough to help me modding this apk that would be great, just mod the mcc/mnc sim verification, the apk is below.
Thx in advance

Just got my nexus s and I just loved the device the only problem I am facing right now is that there are many apps that are not appearing in my android market like "Movies" "Skype" "pandora" etc. Even if I search these on appbrain and press market, the app does show on market and says "not available".
Is there a way to fix this as it is really annoying me.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
This was a problem everyone faced for about the first two weeks of the phone being released. Google hadn't updated the Market server to recognize our phones. It shouldn't be happening to you.
The only thing I can think of is maybe you have to apply the OTA update (Settings/Check For Updates) to the phone to get the proper build.prop entries on the phone.
The other possibility is you're in a country that those apps aren't allowed for you? You don't have a location setting, but if you've seen these apps on other phones, that's not it.
It is possible to hack in a fix to the phone's build.prop file if you unlock the bootloader and root the phone, but again, this shouldn't be necessary at this point.
It's also possible to download the apps onto your old Android that sees them, then copy the apk file to your NS's sdcard and manually install the apps.
By the way, there's a lengthy thread about this already, complete with everyone saying it's fixed for them.
I am currently using my phone outside US. But I bought it from US.I was using it previously in UAE but couldnt find skype app there as well but my collegue there was using it on his desire. I have already updated it to 2.3.1... Can this location restriction be lifted off??? It is really bugging me as I can't install important apps like Skype, Books etc... please help.

I believe that google checks your access to apps first by the country of the sim card installed in your phone. If that's not available they then look up what country your IP address is registered to.
Have you got a US sim or UAE sim installed?
Could you pull the sim card, and then us a US based VPN server or something to trick Google into thinking you're in the US or UK?
Yeah I was using UAE sim... and yeah I tried that US sim trick but it didn't worked either. I installed Skype through an apk file and it's working fine. Is there a site where I can find latest version apk files of atleast free apps? ??

Hi guys
I'm relatively new to the world of smartphones
but here is my question:
so i bought an HTC wildfire S, lost it and bought a new one
i did block the simcard via my provider (O2) and got a new card for my new phone,
so yesterday i went on the android market to install some apps, and there i saw that my old (lost one) phone was still listed but under another provider (Vodafone)
I contacted vodafone, gave them my imei and asked them to give me contact information from the user because the phone had been stolen
I can still install apps on the stolen phone via android market, is there an app that i can install on the stolen phone that enables the gps device and allows me to track it? the htcsense.com tracker does not work and lookout needs to be registered
thanks alot!
i used the search form but did not find anything to solve my problem
/edit: so vodafone cant block the phone or give me the contact adresses...
I know there are apps that you can install , such as the ones listed here: http://www.androidtapp.com/5-best-a...ndations-from-the-experts-at-androidtapp-com/
But I don't know if you first have to configure them on the phone before you can use them.
I think when such info as location is involved, you will always have to tick the accept/allow screen on the device.
I dont think its possible to push it by ota/remote install etc.
Would be a massive security breach if it could huh.
if you can stil install apps, try

Hello
My google account has unfortunately been locked to my home country, so that the only store i'm able to load on play.google.com is the danish store.
It doesn't work with a US VPN, but my test account works fine and connects to the us store.
Also i'm able to buy and rent movies and tv shows on youtube.com by going directly to youtube.com/movies, but doing the same thing on play.google.com, just tells me that the category i'm looking for is currently unavailable in my country.
Iv'e tried searching around, but i can't find any information that would help me unlock the account again.
Does anyone know if it is possible to unlock a region locked google account, so that it will access what ever store matches my IP?
Thanks
I'm interested in this too. I hope there is a way to bypass the regional restrictions.
I thought I was the only one
It just doesn't work for me, and only with MY google account.
Its like, google locked my account to my area/region forever :'(
I'm in french caribbean and my main country is France
Not sure bout it but try using Google DNS it unlocks most of the sites n is fast
Sent from my Xperia Live with Walkman using xda app-developers app
I don't know if this could help you, I hired unblock-us and configured their dns to run on my home and office routers by default. After a month or two I got the US region.
You can also try to set up your google play pay method to a US credit or debit card, I also did that. Nowadays I have the full unlocked version of google play.
I'm sorry I don't know a lot since I'm not a dev but that helped me.
I am also very interested in this topic. I know this used to be a simple issue where VPN and clearing app data could get you around the region restrictions. However it seems that this is no longer viable.
I have been looking for a way around without using a local credit card or billing method to no avail...
anyone got any leads at all??
Hi All,
I recently purchased a 3 year vpn subscription which allows me to use it on 5 devices. But I have some problems with signing in to my account (upon signing in I get the "complete the action using" message) which i hope someone here can help.
just a quick background: I purchased this service to use on 5 devices : my computer,my galaxy note2, my sisters galaxy note 3, and my parents galaxy note3 and galaxy note10.1. My sister and I live in UAE and our parents in iran. At the moment my sister is visiting in iran.
Vpn on my computer, my note2 and on my sisters note3 works perfectly. But on our parents phone and tablet we get the above mentioned problem. (My sister and I use uae sim card my mothers note3 iran sim and on tablet no sim. When my sister installed the vpn app she was connected to the same wifi network as our parents devices were. Both our parents devices were purchased from uae not iran but are being used in iran). BTW when searching the app on parents playstore devices app was not found but i was able to install it through web playstore ( so i dont think the app is country restricted).
I really appreciate if someone can help me with this.
FYI: we tried uninstalling, clearing data for both playstore and app itself. simcard switching (put uae sim in)

Hi, I have a bug in VPN Unlimited. The app and the widget keep dropping the information that I am connected. The key symbol shows in the status bar, but not in the app. When I slide the OFF indicator to ON, it asks if I want to disconnect. Bug Bug Bug
I emailed the debug log and screenshots (also attached), and the reply word for word is:
"Thank you very much for your feedback , it was added to the wish-list in order to improve future updates of the app."

After a second email trying to explain more, it got this:
"The widget on Android will be updated and redesigned in future updates. (resize feature and etc.)"

How do I get someone competent to understand the bug which makes one doubt that a VPC secure connection is indeed established? I have a lifetime subscription and am just stunned with this kind of tech support, telling me that my bug goes on a wishlist and about redesigning the widget. I don't care about design, I want information that my connection is secured by a VPN. This is the worst tech support I have seen in 30 years.
I recently moved from Germany to Australia and after resetting my Gear S3 and the Gear app, I managed to get the Gear App store to display in the local region. However, I suddenly noticed that when I go into the My Apps section, none of my previously purchased apps appear. Could this really be their business model? Barring customers from downloading previously purchased apps just because it was in a different region?
I've had a lot of back and forth emails with Samsung Support now. In the end, this is what they said:
The Galaxy Apps/Gear Apps server provides purchase history based on your current country.
Therefore, since you live in Australia right now, you will not be able to use the apps you bought in the Galaxy Apps (Germany) store.
If you wish to use the same app, you need to purchase it from the Galaxy Apps (Australia) store.
Since you will still be able to use the purchased apps if you go to Germany, we are not able to offer you a refund.
Does this seem unreasonable to anyone else? Because it's certainly not like this on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store and as far as I know, not the Amazon Appstore. As far as I look at it, I simply shouldn't have to buy an app again just because I moved countries, especially not when that app is available in the new region the same as before. I certainly won't be buying an app again on the Galaxy App Store, especially since I move every few years for work.
Hast Du noch ne dt. SIM Card...

Hi adfree, sorry I don't speak German, I was only living in Germany for a few months. I tried to use google translate to understand your post but it wasn't so helpful, could you please post it again in English? Thank you.
Identification to store work via SIM Card...
On SIM Card are stored MCC and MNC "Codes"...
Look here as example:
http://mcc-mnc.com/
So attempt 1 would be...
If you have still German SIM card...
In theory also disabled German SIM should be enough...
------------------
And there are several different methods to fake country...
I have never own experiences with paid apps...
As also Samsung account is involved...
-----------------
Sorry.
I have no 1 click solution... and second problem...
I can NOT post all methods I know... how to fake country... as Samsung is very fast with close such "Security holes"...
But in main this s u . . k ..ßßß... with country limitation...
You have also missed the moment, where all apps are stored on Device/Handset...
All Widgets and Apps and Watchfaces are stored temporary on Handset, after Download...
So they were easy to install with SDB Tool... aka Sideload...
All things are easy known from Android... work also in Tizen World...
But Ecosystem not allow... forbidden... users are scared to share solutions... or simple scared to do """illigeal""" things..
Tizen is harder for end users...
Best Regards

Thanks for your reply. The problem is, I don't want to fake the country as Germany because I no longer have a German payment method so if the app store is German, then it would cost me a transaction fee each time I pay Euros with my credit card because I now have an Australian credit card.
Maybe lost in Translation....
Your Samsung Account is same like you have used in Germany?
Your download history is stored in Samsung Account...
If you use same Samsung Account and not other... then all what block you from your download history... is "changed" Store...
Simple example...
In Germany maybe "you" enter this URL... damn handset autoselect this for you:
.../DBT/SM-R760
Now you are forced to enter:
.../XSA/SM-R760
This selection is automatic process... by used SIM Card...
So your valid Samsung Account render "invalid" to access German Store = invalid download history...
Only chance to restore old settings... is to set back to DBT MCC MNC...
And hope this would work.
Feel free to find your own solution.
Good Luck.
Best Regards
Does Samsung Pay work for your German Gear S3 in Aussie, though?
i found by inserting my uk sim ( does not have to be active ) into my s8+ i get the uk store as samsung apps uses your sim card for location , when i have all my paid apps installed on the watch i insert my dutch sim ( as i live in holland ) and straight away i get the dutch store , thats one way to solve your problem , you can also use any sims from other countries to view the stores from those sims ,
I see this topic is pretty old. But stupid problem with regional galaxy app stores is still there.
Here is my story.
Living in country A you're trying to get access to a Galaxy app store from country B where you purchased bunch of apps.
Disable GPS completely, remove your country A sim card from the phone, clear cache and data of galaxy app store app, launch VPN connection to country B.
Now start Galaxy app store. And voilà - you see galaxy app store from country B with all your apps

It look's like you can't make this permanent.
But if your app from country B is installed you still can update it even if your app store is switched back to country A.
This is really terrible. Went on holiday and purchased a local sim in Hungary. Decided to purchase some gps apps for my Gear S3. After the holiday, switched back to my home sim, and purchase history is gone. I need to repurchase again. Sorry Samsung but you will not get a single cent from me anymore. Fix it and make it account bound not sim card bound or let the Galaxy Apps store just die.
I'm sorry I never wrote back with the final outcome. They did end up restoring my apps but it took a lot of back and forth emails and threats. Most disappointingly, it was the threats that seemed to make them change their tone, after which they offered to *try* to restore my paid for apps. It took roughly a month with one or two more exchanges with me asking for an update before they finally was able to do it. Sounded like they really don't have any system in place for something like this. Hard to imagine for a company as big as Samsung. Utterly pathetic. Hope you guys manage to get your apps back.
