Hi Guys,
Firstly thx for the great community and all the rooting information and guides. This is my first post, I am not a developer but just briefly interested in coding side of things. lets just say I'm more Mechanical than technological ;-)
Came to this forum to ask some help, I saw the guide on getting to the Amazon App webstore outside the US, but the workaround is not working now.
I wasn't able to get through to the webstore even after trying all the steps mentioned in the guide at this link>
btevrythng {DOT}blogspot {DOT}com/2011/03/how-to-use-amazon-ap
Has anyone tried to access this store recently from Australia / or outside US ?
I tried with a Fake US name / country neutral gmail address / Correct but fake (Google maps) postal address and US CC card number from fakenamegenerator.com .
I also Uninstalled my previous kindle app and the App store attempts,
I am running out of ideas on what am I doing wrong or if Amazon have now plugged this loop hole ? Are they tracking Ip addresses to check locations ? Can anyone who has tried to access the store recently please confirm their results ?
Any ideas on what I am doing wrong ?
Have tried many other things that I found googling them, Just wanted to get to the App store to get the free app of the day.
there is a way...
follow the steps provided at this blog: spimi-tech.blogspot.com
tried it and it worked like a charm
You can also try to tunnel your internet connection through VPN (for instance using (overplay net).

Tried this and it works, but how much is it reliable? It is ok for free apps, but when I start purchasing apps with my real non-US credit card, do I risk being blocked?
Google seems to have changed how it determines which country's Play Store can be accessed.
I have a US based Google account. In the past, the access behavior was as follows:
If I had a tablet without a SIM card, I would have access to the Google Play store corresponding to the IP address of the tablet. I could switch from one country's store to another using a VPN.
If I had a phone with a SIM card, I would have access to the Play Store corresponding to the country of the SIM card. By way of example, if I was in the US with a phone with a UK SIM accessing the internet via wifi, I would have access to the UK Play Store (SIM card trumped IP address for store selection.)
This behavior now seems to have changed. Access now seems to be based upon the country of the Google account - so in each of the two examples above, I would now get the US Play store. Recently I was in Italy using a Nexus 4 with an Italian SIM and could only access the US store. This was particularly dysfunctional as I wanted to download a Vodafone app (My 190, xda won't let me post the link because I haven't posted enough here) which would have been handy to use with my Vodafone SIM but was unable to do so (it wouldn't show up on a search on Google Play on the phone, and the web interface would tell me "this item cannot be installed in your device's country" even though the device was identified as a Vodafone device in the pull-down menu.
I suppose I could get a second account based in Italy (although as I don't have an Italy based credit card this might not even be possible), but that would be a pain for all sorts of reasons.
Has anyone heard anything about this change? It seems it would affect many people like me who have Android phones from carriers in more than one country. Any idea if there is any place at Google to complain?

I also used to access US play store through my Nexus 7 using VPN.
But since TODAY it's directing me to my country Play Store.
It's specially weird because my google account is american. I made it when I studied in NY.
I don't know what is it's criteria.
My wife's play store is still IP based though.
I think it has SOMETHING to do with that new Google Settings app.
Confirming described behavior of Play Store.
Since about 1 or 2 weeks ago, actually since the OTA upgrade to 4.2.2, the Play Store a I am getting is my local one, disregardin the country of the SIM chip, the exit node location of a VPN... Probably they just attached each account to country's Play Store... but based on what? ... maybe a set of many parameters taken from the accounts general activity.

Even market unlocker can't do it now.!
I'm on 4.1 so i think its not the android version that has to do anything with it, but the Playstore version.
Mine is at 3.10.14

Ahh, finally I found a thread with ppl having the same problem as me.
I also noticed that Google won't allow me accessing the US playstore by simply using US VPN.
For me it seems that they really bound my Google Account to my real country.
For example: When I have US VPN activated on my PC and I am not logged in to my Google Account I can see all the content of the US playstore. But when I login to my Google Account (while US VPN is still activated) I only get the content of the playstore of my REAL country.
This really sucks, Google.
It's quite weird that I don't have this problem with another Google account. This still seems to be IP based.
Based on people's experiences, is it possible that the store will change based on IP address so long as there is no credit card associated with the account, but once a credit card is attached to the account, it no longer changes based on IP address?

I guess we all need to maintain a Google account that is not linked to a credit card. Not very practical. I hope Google gives us travellers a choice.

Update
Found a work around:
Delete all CC and billing addresses from Google Wallet
Restart Mobile Device
Connect VPN (for example Exit node in the US)
Force close and Wipe data of play store App
Open play store (ensure VPN is working!)
Add your CC again with a billing address of the country your VPN is connected to (in my case this is a real address! No fake!)
Now the play store seems to be bound to the desired country.
Don't know why that didn't work before (I tried it several times) - but now it works.

What if I dont have a US/UK CC and address and just want to DL a free app? Also deleting my Canadian CC info everytime I want to get a app from a dif market is a huge hassle as ill have to add it back when i want to buy again...

I cannot provide a "real" solution, just this workaround.
It covers all my current needs.
A real solution would be better though ...
Didn't work.
Tried several times...
I managed to use my CC to make a NEW google account that works perfectly. But my existing one is fixed to my country.
=\
For me this is specially weird because I go to New York 10 times a year... The only CC I have in wallet/playstore is the one from NY. I have google wallet and google voice WORKING on my phone. I have a t-mobile account... My Nexus 4 was bought through Play Store, and delivered in NY...
And when I'm not in NY I use VPN to keep my IP from USA...
So, Google should know I travel around the world a lot and let me use all this different stores. Not lock me to my original country store.

Well this sucks. I am able to still access US contents and paid apps on the main page BUT i am unable to 'search' for paid contents anymore. This really sucks. I always support apps by purchasing them on Play Store because my country does not have paid contents, but it seems like Google is trying to ask me and others to go for alternative cracked apps instead.
Well, I'm American and have a US credit card attached to my account.
However, I live in Cambodia.
I am able to jump back and forth between markets with TunnelBear APN.
I know it's working because when I'm in the local market I can't see apps like Netflix, Spotify.
But when I turn on TunnelBear and open the market again AND go to "accounts" and just select the same email address I ALWAYS use, I have to accept the agreement again, and then BOOM! I'm in the US market again, and can THEN see that Netflix /Spotify have available updates..... I also have new categories like Movies, Music....
This even worked today for me.

Local Cambodian market with no option to buy music/movies, and it also won't show updates for Netflix /Spotify /Pandora.
I turn on TunnelBear VPN.
I go to "accounts" and choose the one I ALWAYS use.
It asks me to accept the market terms again.
Now the US market shows up and has different categories like Movies and Music to buy. It will also show me US only apps and will finally show that the US apps I have installed already need updates and will let me install them.
List of tracks to buy.
Will let me buy.
Hope that helps!
Also, it will stay in the US market for a while even after I turn off TunnelBear. It will eventually ask me to accept the terms again and I'll be back in the local Cambodian market.

This is what USED to happen with everybody.
But now it doesn't anymore.
Not in the cellphone, not in the computer... nowhere.
But it is probably something related to the new Google Services app.
Because I have multiple accounts, and only my MAIN account is not accessing the US content anymore.
And the Google Service app only works with the main account on the phone.

Out of curiosity, have you tried using www.hola.org? (It helps you access the US Google market from your computer but not from your phone yet. It also allows you to access a few other random sites in the US or UK while you are outside those places)
It is slowly adding more and more sites. I use it on my phone to access Hulu+ and Pandora, and I use it on my computer to access Hulu+ from my computer that is hooked up to my giant HD flat screen.
Without it I would have to cancel my Hulu+ subscription.
Also, it's totally free! (no, I have no connection with that them at all)
Try it and see if that works from your computer.

I think you are not understanding...
It's now a problem of connection.
It's a problem of account.
We all that are having this problem CAN access USA/wherever through VPN or actually being there...
And we CAN access google play store in that country. But as soon as we log in our account. It directs to our home country play store site.
If I don't log, or if I use another account (in my case, my secondary account and my wife's account) we can access.
So... google is filtering through account information and not IP/geolocation anymore.

I noticed many people had had trouble recently from accessing the US Play Store from other countries, after apps such as Market Access and Market Enabler stopped working. I also found that people had trouble using VPNs.
I finally managed to find Pandora, a US-only app in the Play Store, meaning that it worked.
Essentially, I think Google can detect whether you've paid for apps already from a non-US source already on your current Google account. So basically I created a new Google account, moved my IP to a US server using Tunnelbear (available in Google Play), and emulated my SIM to T Mobile US using Market Access (just to be safe). I then went through the normal process of clearing data and force stopping Google Play Services and Google Play Store. Then I opened Play Store and it automatically went to my primary Google account.
All I had to do thereafter was switch to my newly created account and I searched Pandora and found it. I also searched Hulu Plus and found it.
I can also confirm that you can get Google Wallet from the Play Store via this newly created Google account. I emulated my SIM to Sprint US, VPN to the US of course, and edited my build.prop to emulate a Galaxy Nexus. I searched Wallet on the Play Store after clearing data and force stopping and downloaded the latest version. I lost all sound from my phone after emulating a Galaxy Nexus (I am on the i9300), but I found that sound was fine after restoring my build.prop and installing Google Wallet. It now works fine with my original build.prop but just make sure you install it when you're still emulating a Galaxy Nexus.
Hope this helps at least some people.

Yeah I know that would be ideal.
Also I can't find any way to access it through my primary Google account. But I'm not too worried about that because it only takes a matter of seconds to switch accounts. I just have to make sure I always use my original account for UK apps and new one for US apps.
Perhaps you could try wiping all payment information from your current Google account? But I don't know if that will work because Google will probably still have a backlog.

Anyone having the same problem as me?
I originally signed up for All Access using a US credit card.
Now that it's available in Canada, I can't switch.
My Google Wallet seems tied to the US.
I was able to change my home address, add and verify a Canadian credit card, set it as default.
But when I try to re-activate All Access, it won't recognize it, and the currency still shows up as USD.
Isn't there a way to change this ?

I will contact them. I'd rather have my Wallet account migrated (they can switch currency, but manually).
I use one Google account for everything; including Play Store, Android, Gmail, Google+, Photos, YouTube, etc. so creating a new account just to get music is out of the question.

I think I'm in same boat as you. But I never signed up for All Access before. I simply enabled Google Music while I was in USA and kept using it for uploading music and claim free music.
Now I'm trying to sign up and it just give me USD price, however if I want to buy any music, it works fine as my default cc is selected and Buy button is blue. While signing up for All Access shows no supported method of payment and Buy button is grayed out.
I'll give support call as well.

I got this link from Google Play's official Google+ page. (See here: https://plus.google.com/+GooglePlay/posts/FQPxSoP5kE4)
None the less I'm excited that Google Play Music is finally available in Canada. Now all we need are TV Shows and GPE devices!

No resolution yet, but apparently, there are thousands of users with this problem (method of payment is greyed out when attempting to sign up for All Access, and Google Wallet thinks we're trying to buy a US subscription). I got the issue escalated to technical/engineering, and I hear reports of users with the same response. They will manually change our Google Wallet account to CAD currency.
There seems to be another bug with people who have a Google Play balance in USD (from an old Nexus purchase in the US, or a US gift card). Those users can't be switched. But Google is working on a fix to allow them to convert their balance in another currency, and therefore, be able to switch subscriptions to their home country.

So today I was finally able to subscribe to All Access. 60 days free promo worked as well.
I'm also enjoying 60 days free trails, its just marvelous...
Just an update for anyone following this :
As of June 11th, Google has issued a fix that prevented users from changing their home address in Wallet if they had a Google Play balance..
We're pushing a fix for one of the issues that was preventing users from updating their Wallet home address. Starting today, having a Google Play balance should no longer prevent you from changing your Google Wallet home address.

Good day/evening everyone,
I need some advice/guidance please, I was gifted a Google Play gift card but because I am located in the Caribbean I am unable to redeem it. It is a bit frustrating as I have been told I could use a VPN allowing me to bypass the region restrictions however, I am still unsuccessful.
My google play store account was switched to the USA many years ago so it reflects the USA.
I have tried a VPN on my laptop and tried to redeem the card via the play store on the laptop, still, no success.
Many said they have been using VPN to redeem but it's not working for me. Can someone assist me, please?
Change your Google Play country and wait for a while until your account is updated. You can only change it once a year so you may want to use temporary account instead.
