Which K2 variant do you have, are you on 4.2.2 or 4.1.2, are you S-Off or S-On, is your bootloader locked or unlocked?

You need an RUU. See @old.splatterhand index thread. He has links to all of them. Find yours and run it.

Run it on windows, plug your device in to your computer, once they establish a connection it will go from there.

So, I did the S-On procedure. Everything seemed to go fine but it will only go to the fastboot screen and it says "Security Warning" up at the top. Ideas?
Just go into fastboot, download the RUU you need and flash the stock rom. After that enable usb debuggin in the settings and connect to your pc. After that follow the guide you used to do before.

I can run the RUU with S-On?
Yeah sure if you use the one that matches with your CID.
Btw I flashed my device with the RUU too with S-On
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA Premium App
I will give it a try. I never messed with my CID so any Tmous RUU should work, correct? Thanks for your help!
Yes, but I would use the latest one.
Write back when done

Looks like downloading is going to take a while. I'll post back when it's been attempted.
Worked like a charm, it seems. I had used an older RUU before going back to S-On.
Thanks again. I'm now 2 for 2 in asking questions without being flamed and, instead, receiving mega helpful answers!

Eh? It doesn't work with SuperCID and S-ON... you need S-OFF for it not brick you.... Click the resource compilation link in my signature, scroll to RUU and find the RUU for your carrier.
Good luck -_-
Well, can you provide the link? Look, I want to flash CM 10.2 but when I'm trying to flash got the error shown on picture, I also got same error on CM 10.1. Is the solution upgrade my Hboot? Thanks.

My advice is to live without root.
If you feel like you just cannot live without root.
Flash recovery.
Flash su.zip in recovery found here http://androidsu.com/superuser/
Arm device.

I guess you unlocked your bootloader first and then performed SOff which inturn locked your bootloader again. As you are sOff you can flash universal firmware and patched hboot.

Yes it's normal
It's just that you didn't flashed a patched hboot like juopunutbear/revolutionary hboot
Normally when you do soff.. At the end the tool will ask you whether you want a patched hboot.. Probably you said no for it.. Or in some cases flashing that will fail

Indeed no, I flash a hboot via htcdev, everything was ok, I did juopunutbear indeed.
My phone is ok (CM10.1) just was a question why it showed that
I have unlocked bootloader through htcdev and have root access for One XL
I tried the hex edit method for obtaining supercid
every step will go fine but nothing will change
my cid is still htc_j15...
what should i do
i need s-off
