So, I did the S-On procedure. Everything seemed to go fine but it will only go to the fastboot screen and it says "Security Warning" up at the top. Ideas?
Just go into fastboot, download the RUU you need and flash the stock rom. After that enable usb debuggin in the settings and connect to your pc. After that follow the guide you used to do before.

I can run the RUU with S-On?
Yeah sure if you use the one that matches with your CID.
Btw I flashed my device with the RUU too with S-On
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA Premium App
I will give it a try. I never messed with my CID so any Tmous RUU should work, correct? Thanks for your help!
Yes, but I would use the latest one.
Write back when done

Looks like downloading is going to take a while. I'll post back when it's been attempted.
Worked like a charm, it seems. I had used an older RUU before going back to S-On.
Thanks again. I'm now 2 for 2 in asking questions without being flamed and, instead, receiving mega helpful answers!

Hi,
Haven't you recently flashed a stock ruu?
This will have removed hboot fastboot.
You need to run revolutionary again to restore your fastboot.
It will error out, but you will get revolutionary hboot flashed.

Yes I did friend, I tried running revolutionary on my pc but it won't open up, it just open for a quick second and off. Do I need to go to the revolutionary site again and input my info then download the revolutionary zip?

You need to remove HTC sync it stop revolutionary from running
/edit I think droid explorer messes with it too, I ended up formatting my laptop first time round as something was preventing revolutionaryfrom running

Hey.... how do i find out what firmware i am running? Phone came with gb, then ota to ics...... i ran virtually all major roms from the dev thread witout any issues and now running cm10 jellybean...
Is there a way of seeing the fw version?thx
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
I'm pretty sure there is no way to check fw version but to get a guesstimate when did you update to ics? If you updated within the past month or two most likely 3.33 if awhile ago them most likely 3.32 either one should be fine for most roms.

There is a way to check the firmware
From fastboot/bootloader
Type this command
fastboot getvar version-main
This would give your firmware

is the name proper? if its proper and didnt worked then we should go the other way
copy the PG58IMG.zip to the adb folder
then connect the phone from fastboot/bootloader and these commands one by one
fastboot erase cache (if failed ignore it)
fastboot oem rebootRUU (black screen with silver HTC)
fastboot flash zip PG58IMG.zip (make sure the names are matching and ...ignore the green progress bar ..it wont complete)
fastboot reboot (rebooting as you are updated now )
Does anyone have the update file that works with the 4g no matter how much I change it it says can't open pg58img.zip

So, I'm running the original 1.73, I'm rooted and have managed to use a hex editor to change the cid but can only get it to take ROGER001. When I try 11111111, it goes back to CWS__001. Using CID getter app to verify. I have gotten the unlock token already just haven't unlocked anything yet. I was hoping I could get some insight before committing. I've looked through the forums but couldn't find anything specific enough to help. I did try using the one click method first but nothing changed. Thanks in advance for commenting.

From what you've posted you shouldn't have any trouble with the one click...
Do you have the latest drivers installed? Is htc sync running in the system tray?
What happens when you try running the one click super cid?
Is debugging turned on in settings > developer options?
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda premium
HTC sync not installed, I do have the latest drivers, and when I tried the one click, it said it was unable to extract files or something like that. Regardless, it should work when I manually change the cid through the adb, but it doesn't. Can I manage with the Rogers cid? Or should I continue for super cid?

I had a lot of trouble using the one-click tools and ended up doing it manually. Are you following the steps here and using HxD as your hex editor? I only recommend HxD because it is well tested to work with this process.

Delete whatever p4's you have on your PC/SD card. Start from scratch making sure it is the modified p4 that you are sending back.
The partition doesn't care what info you send to it, you could send hboot partition there and it will write successfully...brick the phone, but it will write it. So just double check your work and send the supercid p4 to the phone and reboot. It will stick
Ok so I deleted all the p4's on both my computer and my sd, I made sure everything ran as admin, double checked my work and...

I tried rebooting from adb, but it gave that device not found error, so I restarted my phone via power switch. I have voodoo root keeper, not sure if this is preventing anything. I can switch back to Roger cid no problem. Like I said earlier I have the unlock token and really just want to be able to install twrp for now. Any harm in just keeping Roger cid? Like I said I would love to have the genetic cid, but am content in just accomplishing a recovery flash. It is interesting why this isn't working. Thanks again.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I realized that the reason why the phone didn't reboot from adb was because I was still in the shell. I just changed it back to Roger cid and it rebooted fine.

But what I'm sure about you have to root it again and lost OTA update

158 error usually means that it cannot find the image or you have the wrong or a bad ruu. Try downloading the correct RUU and running the exe again. Just to be sure, your phone is stock and has never been tampered or had cid changed?

Pretty sure that's the release date not the version.
Nevertheless, that error means the OP has the wrong RUU.

Please read before doing anything else with the RUU:

SuperCID + S-on + RUU = brick
If you are SuperCID (which you should be, if you are rooted) then the RUU not running is a good thing. It would have bricked you, if it ran.
