Getting Back to 100% Stock

I've looked around and I can't search the forum from my phone so I started a new thread. If there is already one that answers my question, please refer me to it.
Ok, I'm on 1.85 with an unlocked bootloader. Is there any way possible to return to 100% stock?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Yes as long as your cid is11111111 you can relock. Then run the 1.73 RUU

Thanks gunny. Will that bring my baseband, kernel and firmware back to stock numbers? I'm not sure what my CID is, but I know it's super CID. I'll have to boot into bootloader and check.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Super cid is
11111111 you're all set.
Won't it say relocked ? If that's the case HTC would still know something is up ,or not?

NO. you are s off. Just run the ruu, then push a twrp recovery. After that just flash a Rom
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Is this something I will have to do often when switching Roms now?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
You shouldn't be having any problems changing roms if you're s-off and doing the wipes.

No I ruu'd after soff becuase I couldn't get anything to boot up so I ran a ruu then pushed my recovery and now I can flash anything no problems

No there is not. You just fast boot your recovery to your phone and then flash a rom
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
OK so just d so I got this straight. Ruu back to stock, unlock boot loader, flash recovery. And can this be done in Ubuntu?
Sent from my One X using Xparent Green Tapatalk 2
Ya do I have to lock bootloader to do this? Then get it unlocked after? Cause its telling me to charge ny phone when it is.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
If you're s-off bootloader unlock no longer matters. You can just run the ruu and away you go.
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda premium
I believe you still need a locked bootloader to run an ruu

YES
158 error usually means that it cannot find the image or you have the wrong or a bad ruu. Try downloading the correct RUU and running the exe again. Just to be sure, your phone is stock and has never been tampered or had cid changed?

I get the same error and my phone says tampered on the fastboot screen. I rooted it and now I can't get the RUU to work. Not sure if my CID has been changed. Any ideas? Please.

Pretty sure that's the release date not the version.
Nevertheless, that error means the OP has the wrong RUU.
You rooted it?

Please read before doing anything else with the RUU:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2181929
SuperCID + S-on + RUU = brick
If you are SuperCID (which you should be, if you are rooted) then the RUU not running is a good thing. It would have bricked you, if it ran.

I have stock rom. But its rooted.Supercid is 11111111 and S-OFF.I unrooted it using the unroot option in the superuser. But i need the stock recovery so that i can get the ota update.
All you need to do is run the appropriate RUU for your phone. Look in the resource thread that is a sticky in the Android Development section, you'll find links there.

While it's easier just to RUU, it is also possible to extract the recovery image from an OTA zip file.

He wants the stock recovery so he can update via the ota. I figured less work to just run the ruu.
