Ok, I'm on 1.85 with an unlocked bootloader. Is there any way possible to return to 100% stock?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Yes as long as your cid is11111111 you can relock. Then run the 1.73 RUU

Thanks gunny. Will that bring my baseband, kernel and firmware back to stock numbers? I'm not sure what my CID is, but I know it's super CID. I'll have to boot into bootloader and check.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Super cid is
11111111 you're all set.
Won't it say relocked ? If that's the case HTC would still know something is up ,or not?

What would happen if someone on 2.20 firmware try to unlock bootloader from http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
MID Error.........will not work without changing cid to 11111111, which is only possible if rooted.

Thank you for the insight. Hope people find root on 2.20

Hey guys and gals. New to the one x coming from the evolte when it was unlocked and rooted on its first hboot version it was as open as soff was and then it was changed to flashing kernels was not allowed. Just wandering what all is possible for the hox and being htcdev unlocked and rooted? TIA
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Just to be clear you have the dual core NOT the quad core right? What hboot? If you have hboot 1.09 then you can pretty much do almost anything you want.

You can try this app if you don't want to downgrade it looks like it helps people on 1.14 I never used either since I have 1.09 you seem like you can handle them fine.

I got a Telstra One XL running hboot 2.14. One of the requirements for the new s-off tool is superCID.
I've searched here in XDA and the net in general but I cannot find a tool that will change the superCID on the XL. The guides/discussions I found are for the AT&T One X.
thanks
ps. I've read replies where those with XL tried the AT&T superCID tool and it did nothing for them.

I think your confused my friend att one x owners needed super cid to use HTC dev because our cid was blocked all other one x cid's could go direct to HTC dev and unlock the bootloader.

@op. I have a non AT&T phone too. This worked for me. Only took a couple mins

Obviously just do the parts for changing cid. No need to do the HTCdev part

Are you in fastboot? For adb commands your phone must be booted into a Rom

Also try reinstalling the HTC drivers, and just try a different USB port on your computer.
I think it might have to do with that new adb stuff in 4.2.2 I remember you have to have the latest adb and allow it to use it or something

YES
158 error usually means that it cannot find the image or you have the wrong or a bad ruu. Try downloading the correct RUU and running the exe again. Just to be sure, your phone is stock and has never been tampered or had cid changed?

I get the same error and my phone says tampered on the fastboot screen. I rooted it and now I can't get the RUU to work. Not sure if my CID has been changed. Any ideas? Please.
Isn't the software update supposed to be 3.18?

Pretty sure that's the release date not the version.
Nevertheless, that error means the OP has the wrong RUU.
You rooted it?

Please read before doing anything else with the RUU:

SuperCID + S-on + RUU = brick
If you are SuperCID (which you should be, if you are rooted) then the RUU not running is a good thing. It would have bricked you, if it ran.
