I have that weird problem. At first i was sure that is google search fault, but it's not (maybe some other google app)
Problem: when I'm making photo with flash phone just turns off. Problem doesn't exist when phone is connected to charger.
At first I thought that is hardware problem but when I install cyanogen mod or clean stock rom problem doesn't exist for first few days. It starts about 3-4 days later (after installing some updates?)

boot into safe mode, and try, if the problem gone, so this issue is caused by an app. find it and delete it.
Safe mode, the savior of so many Windows PCs! If you are experiencing a problem with your nexus and you want to determine whether it is being caused by a third-party app, long-press the power button, then long-press the Power off option. Choose OK to reboot in safe mode, which completely disables all third-party apps on your device. If the problem goes away when you’re in safe mode, you should reboot your device and start removing recently installed apps until the problem goes away.

thanks for your hint. After flashing to the newest cyanogen with gapps I still got this problem, but it's good on safe mode. So I think thats some system app problem

Hello guys, out of all the bugs this is the one bothering me the most.
Battery settings show WiFi as on all the time no matter how i switch it off.
I have disabled all the settings like scanning always.
I flashed the factory image yesterday (not OTA) and waited till a full charge, now today even after a full charge its still the same.
Is this a common bug or just me??
UPDATE :Tested with a clean flash of the factory image and without any apps, the result was that the issue has been solved. It could probably be some app which isnt updated to work in 5.0 yet. (Probably Viber app)
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
I didn't flash the image, just flashed it via multirom. I don't have that problem...If that happened to me I'd try to reflash to see if I could replicate the issue with no apps other than what comes with the image.
I just flash my ROM yesterday with the factory image too and now I'm facing the same problem.
Battery usage shows that Wi-Fi is always on even the phone is sleep.
Really want to know why... I think it really consumes the battery.
I flashed the factory image too. I have the same problem. WIFI is always on. Any idea?
I've got it, too. Clean flashed 2 times. Well, hopefully Google gets on it soon.
Same here. Clean install, no root, no tweaks.
I opened issue here https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=79326
Solution
had the same issue. what i found out was that it was not an android issue, the issue is with viber app(atleast in my case it was). to confirm it try booting to safe mode and check you battery stats. safe mode disables all 3rd party apps. if it works then reboot normally and uninstall viber.

I updated OTA and I have the same problem. Wifi always on, battery sucking. I don't have the viber app.
try booting to safe mode just to check if it was caused by any other 3rd party application

Well, turning WiFi off and rebooting "resolves" this issue too, but it's no solution at all, the "bug" is still present.

Right this could be the reason. I clean flashed the factory image once again and now its not there without any apps installed. Viber could be the reason.
And btw for those who doesnt know about "Scanning always available" feature, you have to disable "Scanning always available" option in Advanced WiFi settings to truly switch off WiFi when you disable it. Otherwise it will always be on even if the phone goes to sleep. This is an Android feature. I have shown it the pictures of the 1st post.
So regarding the OP, should install apps one by one and confirm who the culprit is.

there was no need to have clean flashed again, you could have booted in safe mode(press and hold power off option) which disables all 3rd party apps. you could have figured it there. anyways for other people with the same issue you could try this and to figure out which app causes it, reboot back to normal and try force stopping each app and check. thats what i did to figure it out. Viber was the cause of the issue for me as i mentioned earlier
I know I am not the first one to post about this issue. I have searched, not only on xda, but some other websites. I just cannot find a solution. I am running 5.1.1 non rooted Stock ROM. I have tried everything. Enabled and Disabled a lot of settings. Nothing seems to work. 20% for that Android System is just too much. It started a week ago. Today I have Installed "Quick System Info PRO" and it shows that some "System_Server" is eating battery due to a high usage of RAM and Proccesor. See attachments please.
I am thinkg about updating my OPO, but I am not sure if this will help.
Did you find a solution? Do you know how to fix this? Please share your knowledge with me.
I used to plug and charge my OPO once every day and a half. But now I have to live with my charger inside my pockets because I am charging my phone every 10 hours.
There are any other apps? Also, try with android 6.0, might fix something.
Hi @srsdani.
Thank you for your reply. No. There are not any other apps eating battery. Mostly because I am at work, I use Whatsapp.
I should also mention that the phone gets super hot for no reason, like when you are playing a game after a long time. (Due to the intesive CPU usage).

I'm thinking is OS-related. But by doing some search you will find a lot of people with same issue. Even non-OPO users. I'm gonna give it a try anyway.! Thank you for your reply.

try better battery stats and correct firmware and recovery , if possible do everything in fastboot inc flashing
So, yeah, I got the most expected update, installed and worked great... Until some issues showed up, like lockscreen freeze, and now the "you can't see you WiFi power consumption" issue. I'm mad, I know WiFi was taking a huge piece of my battery ( tried some suggestions) but now a bug report appeared, and this is what I face today
Before it was like this
What should I do now? A clean install ?

Don t fast reboot
Shutdown your device and power on
Reboot enable system drain
Disable from security settings google administrator
Cyanogen device manager does the same
Also cyanogen statistic are not used any more to lollipop
Do not use greenify apps from version to version update has opposite results
If you want better battery use apps that will disable sensors and locationwhen device sleep
Hello!!
I have an issue with my Mate8, I really don't know if this is in all phones or just in mine....
It's when a song or a video is playing, and when the power button is pressed to lock the phone, the audio breaks for like half a second, but if you press the button again to unlock, it do it again, and everytime you press the lock button.... it kinda annoys me a lot.
The rare is that this only happens when the audio is coming from the speakers; when i have anything plugged in (headphones or whatever) it dissapear, and with bluetooth headphones dissapears too.
It happens with all apps, spotify, native app, soundcloud, vlc, poweramp...etc
Thanks a lot!!
Best regards, Elías.

I did have this problem previously after flashing a pre-rooted rom of version B320, but it went away after I flashed the stock rom back.
Since you haven't mentioned anything about custom roms and/or rooting, I'm going to assume you're on a stock rom at the moment, in which case I'd suggest a factory reset (backup data 1st of course)
If you're running a customized rom I'd suggest discussing it in whichever thread you got that rom from as the issue may be specific to that rom

SOLVED!
It appears to be some setting in Nova launcher that caused this, i have to install/uninstall a lot to get into this, but 100% sure is some setting in nova, just did a clean reset of the phone and everything superb! reinstalled nova but this time, trying not to modify a lot like before and it's working perfectly.
I was accessing chrome and all of sudden everything got minimized to home screen. I tried killing apps, restarted mobile, power off phone and start but no luck.
From any app I am in, if the touch screen has no touch for 2-3 secs , then it Will bring me back to home screen. However I am able to download apps from play store by touching screen continuously.
I am on latest update of cyanogen provided by one plus one. Any help is highly appreciated.

Hi,
I tried factory reset (Without data). It only worked for the day. Today i realized that it has started doing the same thing again. After every 2-3 secs anything gets redirected to home screen. Battery doctor also is not killing apps and gets redirected to home screen. The mobile is not getting locked as well.

You should not be using any apps like "Battery doctor", this might be the reason for this type of behaving of device. Please uninstall any other apps like this also.

Hi,
I uninstalled all optimizing app. However, the issue came back. Now it is not getting solved even after installing them back.
Do you think it is an hardware issue?
It may be an issue with compatibility because if you're still using the stock cyanogen OS
You will still be at android 5.1.1 and the current version is 7.2.
I may be wrong though so don't take my word for it
Is this a known issue? Every thing I try to download from the playstore gets stuck on downloading no matter what connection I use.
One thing I noticed is that it works for a bit after a reboot which leads me to believe that the download Manager is at fault since that one stops working for most other apps too.
also with X Compact
I have the same problem with my German Xperia X Compact after the Oreo update. App downloads/updates a stuck in state 'Downloading' for a long time. But they eventually start downloading within an hour.
I tried to troubleshoot with these instructions but without success:
support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7513003
support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7512202
Yep have the same issue but my starts to work normally at random times
do all of these methods :
1. Clear cache & Clear data (google play store-google play service-download manager- download agent-play auto installs configuration)
2.try another network
3.try VPN
4.try hard reset for cleaning cache (hold power and volume Up until phone vibrates 3 times and begin to restart)
5.reset app preference in app info
6.last way (factory reset or flash with flashtool )
Reset helped
I did a factory reset with Xperia Companion. Now it works.
Clear cach "google services" it is important
I've got the same issue on my Moto Z Play, updates will show as 'Downloading...' in Google Play Store, and then either fail, or take hours to download.

Battery Saver

I have the same issue, and whats weird that same hapoens in the Theme app in my phone (Zenfone 5) when i try downloading a new theme. I don't even understand how the two are related.

No, just the "normal" Battery Saver feature of Android (the one that suggests turning on at 15% battery). As soon as I manually turned it on and off, Play Store downloads worked again (immediately).
