[Q] Problem with the catastrophic "Nand Erase All" - Samsung Galaxy S II Plus

Hi guys
I just tried to upgrade my phone to android 4.2.2 and assuming that the option "Nand Erase All" would do the job of factory reset, I checked it!
I know... stupid
My phone is stuck at the Samsung logo and I don't know what to do. If anyone knows how to fix this problem, I would really appreciate his/her help.
Thank you in advance...

I think you deleted the "bios"

Try to flash the stock ROM with Odin.
1. Go into download mode (Volume down+Home+Power)
2. Connect your phone with Odin, on your pc.
3. Flash the stock ROM (look on Youtube to see how)

GOCLEVER TAB T76GPS TV - how install udate.zip to brick tablet?

Hi all,
my friend have this tablet and after few starts this tablet didnt start. He try Factory reset but after this he cant even go to CWM menu. He make NOT Root, not change firmware settings, nothing.
He download Stock Rom from GoClever but its only "update.zip" and installation procedure is "put this update.zip to Nand Storage and restart". This tablet didnt start and he cant copy update.zip to Nand storage. Its possible flash this "update.zip" via Odin?
Thanks for your tips and answers.

do you even know what is Odin for?
I am afraid that your deive is gone into hard brick.
If You cant turn on it(Even Boot logo), You must find stock Rom and Flash it.
Google is your friend.
If you can't boot even to bootloader but you can turn the device on and the computer detects the hardware you can flash stock rom. I'll post that info if somebody needs it

Can you post that info now please?

Thanks

[Q] Please Help Me: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

I have Samsung galaxy note 10.1 GT-N8010 UK model. so after 6 months i rooted it through odin and used to install some rooted apps. from playstore i installed an app and after that the tablet suddenly restarted and stucked on the logo "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" after that i restarted it in odin mode but nothing happens. some time recovery mode for wiping data but nothing happened. NOte: clockworkmod recovery mode doesnt opens just simple recovery mode. and now that also recovery mode also not opening just odin mode. So please guyz tell me have i bricked my device or its hardware isssue or software or it can be repaired please please help me.
od:n node is a good sign. just-find a stock image and flash with odin.
Thanks: BUt
thanks alot. please tell me that is unrooting method?
No, thats not the unrooting method.
Best idea is to flash a stock rom, re-root, then run triangle away to reset flash counter and status's. Then use Mobile ODIN pro to flash a stock rom, make sure if you want to go stock that you untick the everroot options and re-install mobile ODIN options, then also tick wipe cache\data and wipe dalvik cache. This will wipe EVERYTHING off your internal memory so make sure you have backed up everything that you want to keep.
You now have a factory reset stock phone. No flash count, ALL status's back to "Official".
done
i have done the first method flashed 4.1.2 through odin and thanks alot it worked. now i want to install AOKP i like it so for this is should reroot my phone and flash it through odin and cwm not working on my tablet. thanks to all of you

if its the stock rom you open in odin it will generally stop responding, just let it be and in a few minutes it will be ok then you can flash. its just checking the file

If you're using PC odin you need to go to download mode 1st - from power off hold down lower volume and power button until the "warning" comes on the screen. press up volume and you get to download mode.
Connect the tab to the PC with USB and run ODIN. It will light up one of the com ports with "Com 0" Or something displayed. Make sure you DON'tT have Kies active or it won't work. It must be exited from or uninstalled. Also don't have another samsung phone/tab attached or it will pick this up too...
Shouldn't do anything but if it does detect, it is a shock when "FAIL" shows up, especially if you're not sure already... You might do something stupid like disconnect the tab in the middle of a flash...

[Q] Help Needed: Unbrick my P500!

Hi,
I have put more than 12 hours of my time, before creating this thread. I have tried things, but still struck, so thought to post it in a new thread. Thanks for all your time.
Currently struck in,
fastboot mode started udc_start()
I tried, fastboot erase recovery -> fastboot flash recovery recovery.img -> fastboot reboot (successfully). But it still struck at same place after reboot.
I tried with different recovery images, but still the same observation. I tried to boot by key combination (volume down+home+power), still same observation.
Earlier, I installed ROM manager through google play and installed CWM recovery, version 5.xxx (which I feel now is a mistake), as I tried to install CM11 from MukilSoni, which needs CWM version 6.xx +. I am able to go into recovery and select CM11 image through CWM and proceed with install steps. But, after initial selection in CWM (like app install, etc) it rebooted and went into fastboot mode.I checked the log, it ended with some return error 7.
Then, I tried to Google and check how to recover from fastboot mode, but all failed. I didnt tried KDZ method, but thought to hear from you guys before making it more messy.
Glad, if I get any help and appreciate it.
Thanks for reading it and your time.

Ganesh

Did you ever try pull out the battery, reinsert, reboot system with 3 buttons combination? I got several fastboot mode as you're facing, and the system works just fine using above method.
I think you got just soft brick. Please, keep the device stay untouched until someone with such expertise to solve the problem will guide you. I think @akiratoriyama can share his bad experience bricking his lovely p500.
Wish you luck.
PS.
You must to press three buttons a bit longer, do not release it, until recovery mode appearing. Otherwise fastboot mode or blank screen showing instead.

Two years ago I bricked my phone also after using ROM manger. Though I will never ever use this or similar tools again. But at least, if I remember correctly, I could revive my phone with the "fastboot erase recovery" method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088046. But since you failed is seems to be another problem. I am not a fastboot expert , but since you bricked your phone with ROM manager too, I wanted to share my success story with above mentioned method and installing AmonRa recovery. So maybe you will give it a second try? All I can remember is, that it is extremely important to follow the instructions exactly.

Thanks @xu3sno & @androidck
I am also getting help from mukulsoni & others in Official CM11 version 10 thread.
I am able to go into the flash tool (pointed by mukulsoni, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49567169&postcount=45)
and able to go 'Select kernel to hotboot' with recovery.img (CWMod-6.4.0.6-Jan16)
But rebooting by HOME+Volume DOWN+POWER --> goes into CWM recovery of v5.0.2.0 (which i installed initially)
I am thinking, what to do next.
I will keep my progress posted here.
Thanks for listening..

Are you sure that you are booting into cwm v5.0.2.0? Version is listed at the top. If that is true, then either the flash tool failed to flash cwm v6.4.0.6, or you have chosen the wrong recovery.img. This can easily happen since they all have the same name. Try to flash it again, but make sure that you use the correct image.
Also, I believe that you may not have any rom installed, or existing rom might be corrupted. So you may want to flash a cm-9 or cm-10.x rom first, just to stabilize and to be sure that you are healthy. Those can be flashed using cwm 5.0.2.0. I can post a link or two, if you'd like.
Edit: Here is a link to cm-10.1.6:

Thanks @ibub for your helping hand.
I will check why recovery image not upgrading as expected. (I didn't manually download CWM5.xx version to my PC. I got it via ROM manager app, so i hope I haven't chosen wrong image)
Yes, I got CM10.1.6 from your link and installation went successfully and able to boot up..
But, it is very slow. (May be it will take some time?!) I will check it.
Between, @mukulsoni advised to install CWM6.xxx via CWM5.0.2.0. I will check how it goes.

Yeah, I chose to post that link only to make sure that your phone is healthy. Now you can install any recovery/rom that you want. If your volume keys are broken, I suggest that you flash to twrp recovery. It's touch driven.

[Q] GT P3110 soft brick, download mode but no recovery, bootloop

Hi All,
I have a GT P3110 that was rooted. I tried to install a custom ROM, but I didn't succeed, because since first reboot it arrives till "Updating Android", optimize all the apps, and straight after "opening applications" it reboots - as in the title - in infinite loop.
I can access download mode, and I tried very various solutions (all through Odin, in different versions), but none of firmwares i tried unlocks the situation, neither does any flashed recovery open. Just the download mode (that still let me hope for a solution).
I read a lot of threads about, but nowhere I found a solution; I tried even to Erase All Nand, but it failed.
I really dunno what else could I do, has anyone solved a similar problem, or has an idea of how could I unlock the situation??
SOLVED: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_p3110
But it currently boots and fails after optimizing still?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
thanks for quick reply!
More detailed what i see is
- "Galaxy Tab 7 2.0"
- blinking "Samsung"
- "Updating Android OS": inside of this, it first optimize all the apps ("optimizing app 1,2,3,...."); when it finished, says "Opening applications", and just restarts from blinking "Samsung".
OK. So it IS booting the os.
And you can't get into recovery?
You mentioned that you tried Odin, did you make sure to use the latest correct pit file when flashing?
Sent from my GT-P3110 using Tapatalk
again thanks!
No I cannot access recovery in any way, I tried kinda all combination of buttons, but can only get into Download mode.
But.......actually I'm not using any PIT file! Hope THAT is the problem!
So maybe now i should try to flash again stock firmware, with correct pit file, selecting in odin only f.reset time and auto-reebot (also repartition? and/or nand erase all?) ?
about PIT, can it be http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552155 ?

Yes, use the 311x file in the last post.
Go to the thread where you got recovery and be sure to use 311x or 3110 flashable recoveries.
Follow all instructions to a t. Do not select anything you are not specifically told to select
Sent from my GT-P3110 using Tapatalk
tried to flash recovery with PIT realized only after that repartition was selected, but nothing changed.
tried to flash firmware with PIT, unselected repartition, and i supposed i bricked it. Still, on charge shows the battery, but no other response. damn.
[EDIT] The tablet is still alive, I found on another section that letting it charge and pressing volume button, can make it wake up and..."yes"! We are back at soft brick as before...same exact situation!
Well. At least its not bricked. Lol
If you repartition without the pit it could turn the whole thing into a single partition. The pit is a partition information table, it tells the tablet what partitions go where.
There must be a way to force recovery on, maybe through adb but I'm not sure.
If Odin is failing try updating the drivers and if you haven't, try a more recent Odin meant for the tab. Other than that I'm out of ideas. You might be able to boot recovery by holding volume up and power while plugging in. Once the Samsung logo flashes up unplug while continuing to hold volume up
Sent from my GT-P3110 using Tapatalk
well actually odin isn't failing, because everything that was needed to be flashed, it was...
odin i am using in the last version
I also do not have any clue for this...
the only hint i have, is that maybe i should flash both recovery and firmware with PIT, and leaving on both the re-partition....
...even if the hard brick perspective scares me...
And cannot find anyone that had my same problem on the internet!!!!
If you have any other suggestion/ideas feel free to share...meanwhile thanks!
But if Odin worked right it would be flashing recovery without issue.
Maybe try booting as far as it will boot, plug into PC, open a command prompt and type
Adb
Sudo reboot recovery

[Completed] stuck on boot screen ,please help...!

I own a samsung galaxy ace duos phone (gt s8602) , i recently downloaded the cyanogenmod 7.2 and later opened the boot menu in my phone and installed the mod from the folder of phone. as soon as it completed installing, it displayed installation completed.and then my phone automatically got rebooted . but after loading the samsung boot animation it paused for two seconds, then again loaded the samsung boot animation and then keeps doing it again and again. i again opened the boot menu and factory reseted and cleared cache, but still it keeps doing the same...please help me guys...!!!
Thank you for using XDA Assist. First, always make a nandroid backup in your custom recovery before flashing roms. If you don't have a nandroid then you'll have to flash the stock frimware using odin. You can get more help here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31713212#post31713212

Thanks, anyways i should have made a backup, but i didn't which was my fault.... but now i can't do anything since i'm stuck on the boot screen. the only thing i could do is open the bootscreen. hence i planned of installing back the stock firmware by selecting on the "apply update from sd card" . but the thing is that, even it says apply update from sd card, when i select it , it just shows up the files on phone and not the "external storage" which is the only way by which i could copy the stock firmware and then install it.
Now as you said i could install it through the odin mode, but i have no idea on how to use the odin mode and how to install it. the only thing i know is that i could open the odin mode in my phone by pressing the powerbutton+home button+volume down button. please can you assist me in installing it through the odin mode...?
Please see this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...08-2013-odin-3-09-odin-1-85-versions-t2189539 The only thing you need to worry about is flashing the .tar.md5 file in Odin's PDA slot, AP slot for Odin 3.0 and higher. Google odin 1.85 xda to download Odin v1.85 which will work fine. If you have additional questions please post in the links I supplied or here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31713212#post31713212
