Hello, in the past, my Note 2 N7100 running official CM 10.1 was able to receive 3G or HSPA+ data from the network. However, recently, it can only be able to receive edge signal which causes the mobile data download speed to become extremely slow. And also, I did not change any of the settings. Therefore, what may caused the signal to be changed to edge from 3G or HSPA+ and how can I fix this? Thanks.

Hello guys
In 3G Networking on Galaxy Note 10.1 one can force either connectivity on 3G (WCDMA) or 2G (GSM). But as long as I want to use the tablet on 3G being forced on WCDMA, the network keeps changing between 3G, H and H+. I know that making calls forces the network to 3G mode. However, internet can be surfed on all 3G, H and H+ networks.
My question: is there any method available to force the Note 10.1 to connect on H+?
Thank you ^_^

You almost certainly don't want that- as you'd lose connectivity outright all those times you're not showing "H+" on your service display.
The radio isn't just switching between modes for no reason- it's doing its best to retain connectivity depending on signal conditions.

Yes, I know
Just like forcing 3G in an area with weak 3G coverage. But at the end, 3G is forced so that a download does not get interrupted in case of auto-switching.
BTW, I want to force H+ in an area with strong H+ coverage. What happens is that it keeps switching to H and sometimes to 3G just because it is a bit stronger
Though H+ has a very strong coverage in the area.
Is there a bug in the SGH-T999 4.3 (UENC2) firmware relating to radio frequency switching while on a call? I am fairly certain from testing that if I am on 4G (HSPDA+. I do NOT have the LTE phone) during a call, and am driving into an area with only a strong 2G tower, that the call gets dropped instead of switching me over. I can see the radio lose all the bars and then change to a full strength 2G signal as soon as the call gets dropped. I can then immediately make a call with the 2G signal.

I believe you want to go to T-Mobile Galaxy S 3 forum. This is for the T-Mobile Galaxy S 4G.

Is there a way to see and change the LTE BAND that my phone is on? Rogers support aws, 2600, 700. So I was wondering if I could manually change between them. The S5 has that option in the hidden menu, so I'm hoping I could do the same on this one.
Thanks.
The phone choose the band himself, if he don't find bands authorized by your phone company, he can't use them.

*#*#46363#*#* > Phone information > Set Preferred Network Type > 'LTE/GSM auto (PRL)'
That's as far as you can get in telling it what network to operate on. It won't let you select specific bands (at least not stock). Mine was set to 'TD-SCDMA, GSM and LTE' out of the box (international version) and since I don't plan to use my phone in China anytime soon, it didn't make sense for the phone to waste resources searching for a TD-SCDMA (China's homebrew 4G) signal. Haven't noticed much improvement to my LTE signal though, still the weakest radio I've seen in a 'flagship' in a while.
Thanks.
I am also on Rogers.
Does that mean when I am on the phone, it will revert to EDGE instead of 3g by using the LTE-edge setting?
I have major issues with reception on this phone.
LTE Works Fine but the 3G/H+ signal is awful, absolute disaster on this phone. It is extremely, extremely weak. And I lose coverage often and over 50% of the times my calls go straight to voicemail because Rogers uses 2g/3g for calling. The phone can't drop back to 2G or 3G in time to receive calls when on LTE
Rly frustrating. Have tried playing with all the settings.
Same issue

I'm having issues with 3G H+ too. Dont know its CM issue or not coz I had nice H+ signals on Color OS...
Can't even use internet data. most of the time network drops after using internet for a bit.. Network just suddenly gone and after that it comes back with no internet. Internet comes back online after a while...
Really worried.. and annoyed coz can't seem to find any solve for this. Even Mahdi rom had this issue..
Hi just wondering out there how many ppl in general with the note edge are getting low 4g or lte signals. Recently just got mine and my signal is real low between 1-2 bars sometime in the city where 4g is strong i still get 1 or 2 bars. If I compare it to my old phone I'm getting full reception and real 4g speed. Not sure if it just my phone or is it a common problem everyone else has. Any feedback wil be good. I am in Australia on the telstra network. My edge is N915G running on baseband ANK4.
Same issue i think
I have the SM-N915S model from Korea and i am in The Netherlands on T Mobile.
My note 3 works on 4G yet when i install same sim card into Note Edge i dont get 4G (Or LTE as its called on phone)
I am wondering if its because the network frequency in Korea is 850/900/1800/2100 and Netherlands is 800/1800/2600??
There is also no option to make it automatically switch between the 2. It only has the option for LTE or 3G.
I am also wanting to know if rooting the phone would enable the access?
Is there a way to root the phone and turn it into the SM-N915Y model for Europe in the hope this will fix the issue?
I am new to this and studying up on rooting phones.
Any help would be appreciated...
i am hearing it is a known issue with the Note Edge across all platforms. I am suffering from the same thing.
As stated above, it stays at Edge forever. I tried 4G switcher, I tried flashing a MM Modem. Is this a known bug or hardware issue? Also tried network reset and a different SIM card. Any solution to this?
Go somewhere with a better data signal on that network?
I tried in multiple locations. It won’t switch to 3G or LatE, shows full bars on Edge.

It will stay on Edge if there is no 3G/4G signal
Check with another phone on the same network/carrier, if that gets only Edge too then your signal is bad in your area

It depends on where are you located. Nowadays, we've got 3G everywhere so it's strange.. did you contacted your carrier?
