the q700i has a little tiny bit better specs, the resolution is incredibly better.
Thanks Trozzul,
I did notice that, but other than the display, is there anything more convincing?
Does 1.2ghz and 1.3ghz make much difference?
What about the GPU?

they are both quad core so there is barely a difference, im sure you could overclock the q700i to even faster than 1.3ghz if you really wanted, nowadays in the android world you want higher than 1ghz and at least a dual core, 1.2ghz is very fast.

Buy Q700i and only difference between q700 and Q700i is camera and you don't have apps to sd option in q700 but you have it in Q700i although it is simply solved by using third party apps or you can simply install Q700i rom in q700 to get apps to sd option (because both phones have same kernel, modem, radio everything) no difference other than this

Also both are having same CPU and GPU since they have same Chipset (MT-6589) And also for your info both(q700 and Q700i) are having same clock speed 1.2 GHz

You cannot overclock because both q700 and Q700i are mediatek device and their sources are not yet released and both q700 and Q700i are having same clock speed of 1.2 GHZ quad core and MT -6589 chipset

Go for q700s, its a newer chip, it has very capable mali 400 mp2 GPU, should give you solid gaming performance, also I guess the GPS module on the mt6582(q700s) is better than q700(mt6589)
also q700s has a gpu clockspeed of 400mhz - 500mhz, which almost 60-70% more than mt6589 - 257mhz - that is a massive difference in the gaming department!!!

its hard to say man, i would say go for the newer chipset phone, i.e q700s. The mali 400 is a pretty well known gpu(s2,s3 etc) , so i guess games are more optimized to it and as result they run better. that being said the power vr 544 according to specs should be more powerful, but i feel it falls short often.. i guess maybe because its underclocked in that mt6589 series..with highest being..357mhz.. q700s with dual core mali400mp2 at 416mhz seems pretty solid to me..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVfQktv1bds - gaming review q700s.. games seem to run very well..
at the end of the day.. as far as customer service goes.. both brands suck. but if you get a good device that wont matter.. so i would advise you to spend as little as possible on these devices. go for the cheaper one..which in this case also has a slight advantage i feel..q700s.

I finally have enough money to buy a new dual-core droid and I have a few units on my list. I already made some research on other aspects and I'm left with just another question: What is the best GPU in today's dual-cores?
Please take note that I'm not interested in quad-cores simply because I can't afford them! And I'm not into tablets too. Please limit the answers based on dual-cores only.
The GPUs I'm comparing are the ff:
-MALI-400
-Adreno 220
-PowerVR SGX540
As I said, I already did some research but the threads I saw are all outdated. Also, we have a lot of phones that came out last year having the above mentioned GPUs so I'm guessing we have more accurate info now.
I need help. I'm not a rich guy, I'll be buying a phone with my savings and I really want to be satisfied with the device I'll be getting 'cause I'll probably be stuck with it for the next 3 to 4 years.
Your help will be really appreciated!
*Again just a reminder, I'm only interested in the GPU performance. Nothing else.
a galaxy s2 gt-i9100 its very fast it has a 1.2ghz processor Samsung exynos dual core 1 gigabyte of ram
no doubt, the powerVR SGX540, with the Adreno coming second (not a close second however lol, a far one).

no!!
I say the Mali is first

See. That's why I was getting confused. In dual-cores, some say the MALI is the best, some say it's the Adreno 220, and some claims it's the PowerVR SGX540.
Is there any way to determine the best overall? I know they have strenghts and weaknesses but what I want is the overall best. If you can provide facts or links to support your claims that would really be appreciated.

I know it's fast. It's bigger brother, the Note, is actually on my list. But what I'm interested in is the GPU. How does MALI-400 stack up against Adreno 220 and PowerVR SGX540.
Thanks for taking time to reply though

Actually, google is my best friend. I already tried googling for what I was looking for but I can't find the exact answer. I'm getting mixed reviews.
Thank you guys for sharing your thoughts. I really appreciate it. I guess what I'm looking for is real life performance. Of course a MALI-400 on a 800x480 screen have a performance advantage over a qHD/720p screen Adreno 220/PowerVR SGX540 though you might have to sacrifice image quality.
Soooooo I came to this conclusion: All the these GPUs are good enough for running almost every, if not all, apps on the Play Store. I was actually contemplating on whether to buy a Samsung Galaxy Note (5.3"), Xperia S, LG Nitro HD, and Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
These phones are all dual-cores with HD screens which I consider a must for my multimedia needs/wants. I ruled out the Galaxy Nexus first because of it's 5MP camera and non-expandable capacity. Next I ruled out the Nitro HD. It's a good phone but the around 3hours of talk time is a big no-no for me (I make a lot of calls). So I got down to the Note and Xperia S.
I now choose the Xperia S! Hooray! Reason: I believe the 1.5GHZ dual-core, 1GB RAM, Adreno 220, will be good enough to run almost everything smoothly for the next one or two years. Bonus: I get a 32GB internal storage, digicam quality 12MP shooter with excellent 720p/1080p vids, marvelous HD screen (though the SuperAMOLED is luring me towards the Note), and Sony's reputation of giving out updates even to their old devices (the x10 came from Donut land and got as far as Gingerbread country).
So there it is. I'll just probably save up again once there are Apps that my Xperia S can't run! Thanks for the help again.
Hi All,
Been seeing a lot of china phones running the MTK6577 + SGX531 and was wondering if anyone had any real performance figures on any of these devices, particularly those with screen resolutions greater than 800x480.
There are a lot of knock-off phones running this however there are some china-branded phones sporting them as well.
Ive seen some threads surrounding haipai devices that are running this SoC, however they only seem to have 512MB RAM and WVGA screens (albeit the screens are quite large physically).
I was wondering if there were any phones running MTK6577 with 1GB RAM and a 960x540 or better yet a 1280x720 screen?
I understand that they are cheap and would like to know if they represent 'bang-for-buck' at all?
Well depends who makes it ...xiaomi is great got the mi-1 going to get the two ... look at fastcardtech.com for xiaomi mi-2

I have the Haipai x710d MTK6577, And so far i love it, Rooted with a custom rom, Super fast and lots of features 2gb of usable space, With the custom rom it fixes the SD card problem so you are able to save all your data and app on it now. very speedy, great screen color yeah its not a super amoled or anything but it looks great to me, It depends on opinion about the screen resolution and the way it looks. Games play great. Battery life is awesome. Camera is awesome. ICS 4.0.9, For me and this is my first second Chinese phone, And so far i love it. recommend to anyone.

How is the phone signal, volume and clarity?
How is the GPS lock? Is it fast enough (under 10 seconds)? Is it usable for google navigation?
How is the camera? Fast enough with good pictures?

we need an a chinese phone section.
Just got my Amoi n820, trying to figure out how to root it.
Anyway Antutu score is about 5400+ ? its actually a pretty decent performer
It appears that there is an S3 knock-off that has a 1GB RAM and a 1280x720 screen which is pretty decent.
I have also found a "Hero H9500+" which is essentially a Zopo ZP900 but with only 512MB RAM and a 5.0MP camera (8.0MP would be better but ahh well).
Still for less than $200 it has a 5.3" QHD 960x540 screen. Havent been able to find any video demonstrations of it however.
It would be awesome to have a 5"+ phone with 1GB RAM and a 1280x720 screen. I think we will see them soonish.
I understand that MediaTek are bringing out a quad-core (i think its MTK6585?) later this year which should see quad-core china phones boom. The GPU is supposed to be the SGX544 which is used in TI OMAP 4 amongst other things.

Be very careful. Many shops advertise 1,2 Ghz but they do send you a 1.0 Ghz phone. Afaik there is no 1.2 Ghz variant around.
I own one of the "1.2ghz" MTK 6577 and the fact that they have a sticker with "quadcore CPU" on it should tell you something about how the chinese advertise their products.
That being said i knew that i am buying a 1.0 GHZ dualcore phone and i am very happy with it. It's really fast and powerful enough to do some gaming if one likes to.

Hello everyone.
I was surfing the web yesterday and I discovered pretty weird android phone and wanted to share it with you guy. I don't know if you have heard about the phone ZOPO ZP980. If yes, please can you provide with more info, because i couldn't find any benchmarks or additional info.
So, the phone is 5 inch, Full HD, 13.1MP + 5MP front camera.
It has some kind of 4core CPU: MTK MT65891.2GHz, Cortex-A7 quad-core
GPU: Power VR SGX544
It looks pretty handsome and I kind of like it
It comes with 4/16GB ROM and 1GB RAM + sdCard support.
The best part is that it costs only 250$
So, everything looks like a high end expensive spartphone. But sounds too good to be true, so whats the problem with it?
I don't know what to expect from that phone as it is made in china. But sounds pretty cool.

Zopo 980 is actually a really good device for those looking to switch from iPhone. It's obviously physically similar - making it easier to adjust versus typical phablet type devices.
Try the Official Zopo 980 Product Page for more details.
There is already a thread @xda:

I have it, nice phone, but still some bugs even in the newer roms.

Thanks for responce. I wonder how it actually works in everyday use? I have galaxy S3, can you compare them? How about graphics, benchmarks etc?

Here's the official website link: http://www.zopomobileshop.com/en/10...d-13-mp-camera-mt6589-android-smartphone.html
Do you know about this phone? May be anyone owns it? Can you provide more info?

I was in the market too for this phone, but in the end I decided otherwise. I've ordered the UMi X2T.
Here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtEzLsxd178 you have some extra info.
Been using the Zopo C2 (1Gb Ram 4Gb ROM) for the last 2 weeks. Frankly love the phone. The display is just amazing. 441 PPI.My colleagues have HTC One n Butterfly n Samsung S4 the display is just as good if not better viewing angles are amazing too. I've been playing Subway surfers n temple run with out any lag. Heavy games like Contract killer2 which gets stuck on my S3, works seamlessly on this. Antutu benchmark is a little under 12k. For the price $220 its much more than worth its price.

Hello
I am thinking about buying the Zopo 980 2gb ram version.
Is the software stable? Are their OTA updates for ZOPO?

Hi guys could you suggest me a decent phone with good specifications. I have suggested a few of them though I am really confused between them. The XoloX1000 has an intel 2.0GHz processor whereas the XoloQ1000 has a 1.2Ghz Quard core mediatech processor. Also the Xolo Play has an nvidia tegra 3 processor. I am also looking for xperia l or xperia c. Some people say 1.0Ghz Quallcom processor would be faster than the 1.2Ghz quard core processor. Please suggest the best one amongst the above. Also you can suggest your own best phone within this range
PS A decent GPU would also be necessary
Please quote my lines so that I would be informed as soon as you reply

HTC One is great but I need something that fits my wallet
Hey guys, I need some on trying to find an android phone for about $200. I've already looked up the Moto G and unfortunately it didn't meet up to my total expectations. I am looking for a device that has:
A 4.5 - 5 inch Display with about 720p HD Capabilities and maybe around 250 - 330 PPI.
Dual or Quad Core Processor (Starting from 1.2Ghz and please try not to post any mediatek cpus)
512 - 2GB of Ram
Good internal storage for some apps.
Android OS 4.1.2 - 4.4 KitKat
Good battery life (something that would last for about a day or so)
Stable.. Smooth (No Chinese Generics)
At least some support from the dev. community.
Any help would be much appreciated. thanks!
Sorry guys, there was a device suggestion thread...

well since the moto g is out of the picture, i think one of the many BLU phones would be good for you, i have heard good and bad reports about the battery, most of them have 1g or higher gigs of RAM, its seems that lots of their devices (even with small screens) have a great cpu clocked at 1.5ghz dual core or bigger, i think most of their phones are 4.2 and up. lots of choices with 4.5" and up. as for development support, i think they only have root.

Thanks for the recommendation. Though, I have heard of the blu phone series (life, studio, etc.) but there are many negative reviews on them and the ones that are mostly positive are supposedly framed. So, from what I heard was that some of these BLU labelled phones come DOA, other complaints relate to dead pixels, insta-brick (after a week or so of moderate to heavy usage), unresponsive touchscreens, and of course as you stated, battery life.

I was stuck in the exactly same position. But I also needed a removable battery and an external micro SD card slot. So the moto g was not a good candidate. I ended up going with the optimus f7. It has specs similar to gs3. You should check out the reviews and see what you think.

Ahhh yes, I forgot to include external microsd expansion capabilities. Oh yes and thanks, the F7 may not have good dev support but I guess root access is all I need. All I'm really planning to install is Su, viperfx, and some closed modules. Also btw is it possible to skip the boost mobile activation process?

Enjoy! I to am using an f7. There is an awesome rom that I'm using that I highly recommend. If you got any questions ask me or check out the androidforums f7 threads. Xda doesn't have much f7 support but androidforums has a bunch!
