google play store - HTC One S

installed viper C2ville, and its playstore does not have any setting whatsoever, not in the side menu or the 3 dots..
anyone know how to fix, or got a working playstore link with setting so i can turn off auto update

Is there any options for that in your settings? I'm running CyanogenMod 10 and in Settings>Buttons I can make the 3 dot menu button show up on apps, as well as set one of the touch buttons on my phone to open a menu.
On a side note, I had issues installing CM10, and now I don't have the Google Play Store, OR Play Services! A link to where I can find the apk's for these would be much deserving of a thanks!

Problems downloading apps from Google Play.

I'm trying to download apps from Google Play without success. So, as an example, I try to download Skype. When I get the web page and Google Play, it has a pull down for what device to install it on. If I click on that arrow, it says "Samsung GT-N8013", but it is greyed out so I can't select it. This means that the INSTALL button continues to stay greyed out and I can't install it. The same thing happens with all the apps I've tried so far. Anyone know why this could be happening? Thanks!

Cannot download updates on Play Store

I had not used this phone for months 9backup phone), and when I dusted it off and flashed a different ROM, I could not update the over 20 out of date apps on play store (server error). I found a possible fix (market Enabler APP-) but no luck.
I saw a post pop up when i started entering the thread title, but it did not completely cover a fix that I found on a website (SeberTech) that cleared it up. I had treid clearing out Play Store data, but that was not enough. Here is what works if anyone runs into this Note - forced stop and then cleared data):
" Solution:
Follow these steps to fix this problem:
1. On your Galaxy S3 menu, go to Settings, then select Apps, then All, and finally Google Play Store.
2. Under Google Play Store, press the Clear Data option and then Force Stop.
3. Go back to Settings again, and then Apps, then select All, and then locate Google services framework from the sorted list. In case you cannot find Google Services Framework from the sorted list, try to scroll right to the bottom of the list. Sometimes, this item is disabled. If it is disabled, you need to enable it first, so you can proceed to the next step.
4. Under Google Services Framework, clear data and then Force stop.
5. Go back to Settings, then Apps, and then All.
6. From the All menu, locate and select Download Manager and the select Clear Data.
After doing all the aforementioned procedures, turn off your phone for about 60 seconds and then turn it back on. Try to access Google Play Store this time and it should be working fine. "

Cm13, couple of weird issues.

I just installed cm 13 and I tried to install gapps, didn't work but no biggie. I came across an xda thread linking a fix to github, it was called a-gapps and it was supposed to stop the "setup wizard has stopped working" and the "Google play services has stopped working"
Welllll now everything works kinda weirdly, was it because I needed to flash the original gapps after flashing that fix to fix it or what?
Some of the issues :
1.No Google search bar in the recent apps drawer
2.Long pressing the home button doesn't trigger the search assistant even tho voice search works and I have Google app installed
3.Every time I download an app from the play store, it doesn't show me the permissions it requires (you know that right, and then it asks you to hit the green accept button), after I click install it immidetialy downloads it and as a result, it has 0 permissions so I'm required to go to the settings app, go to apps and then manually enable the permissions. This is VERY frustrating and time consuming, I would love a fix for all of these issues or at least an insight to what the hell is going on.
1. Your gapps
2. Your gapps
3. It's a new feature in Marsmallow
Give OpenGapps Nano a try.

Google Play Music error message

Hello all,
This started happening on my S7 Edge and continued happening once I switched to Pixel, but every time I disconnect from WiFI I get the error notification "Can't download music No WiFi connection". As far as I know all of my downloads have been completed and this happens *every* time I disconnect from WiFi. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: The only troubleshooting I've done is clearing the play music cache.
I saw this answer from Google as I was having a similar problem. Seems to be working the last few hours.

Refresh your library. To do so, follow these easy steps:
Open the Google Play Music app .
Touch the menu icon Google Play Music Menu icon.
Make sure the downloaded only switch is off. The switch is gray when it's off.
Touch settings > refresh.
Wait two minutes, and view your library again.
Clear cache for Google Play Music app (Go to settings > apps or application manager > Google Play Music > clear cache > ok).
Check for updates for the Google Play Music app.
Check sync settings. Here's how:
Open the settings app on your device.
Touch accounts > Google.
Touch the account you use with Google Play Music.
Make sure the checkbox next to Google Play Music is checked.
Restart your device.
Seems to have worked for now! Thanks! I'll update if it returns or if I find a separate solution.

After the most recent Play Store update a lot of buttons stopped working/being unresponsive

Hello everyone,
After the recent Google Play Store update I have issues with multiple buttons being unresponsive to taps (nothing happens when you pressing them).
Already have tried every suggestion provided in the links below:
https://support.google.com/googlepl...store-or-apps-won’t-load-these-steps-can-help
https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7512202
Issue examples:
1. If I go into About section in Settings and tap on Play Store version, I get a pop-up stating that my Play Store is up to day with "Understood" button. If I try to press it, nothing happens, so I need to press "Back" button in order to pop-up to go away.
2. "See all reviews" button being unresponsive either. If you pressing it, nothing happens, all reviews are not being displayed.
3. What is the most important is that "Install" button stopped working either. When I press it, nothing happens, download does not start. Although weirdly enough I still can update already installed apps through Play Store.
As I have mentioned above, I have tried all suggested options below:
- I have removed and added my Google accounts back, then restarted and tried again - did not worked
- I have tried to delete the data and cache for Google Play Store, Google Services, Download Manager, then restarted and tried again - did not worked
- I have enough space on my phone and I am sitting within a meter from my WiFi router, so all these are not an issue.
- I have uninstalled all the updates for Google Play Store - it helps and button issue disappears so I can use Play Store normally for awhile, but only until the moment when Google Play Store forcefully updates itself and buttons issue come back again. Hence uninstall updates is only temporary solution to my problem. Would be nice to have permanent one.
I am on non-modified, non-rooted, stock Oreo 8.0, Xperia XZ1 Compact phone.
Did you report this issue to Google or the phone manufacturer Sony?

I did, they provided me the links in my original post and told me that if it does not help, then perform a factory reset... It is a little bit too big price to pay for fixing a single issue with one app and risking loosing important data on the way + struggling and loosing time with reinstalling all the apps that I have and setting them up.
As for the Sony support, no, I have not contacted them, but I hardly doubt outcome will be any better than Google support. They will probably tell me to do a Factory reset right away, or ask me to upgrade to Pie, which I do not want to, I am perfectly fine on Oreo.
