How to install CWM for LOCKED bootloader? - Sony Xperia L

Hey there,
I really wanna install Clockwork Mod Recovery for my Xperia L (15.3.A.1.14 - latest), and yeah.. I don't want to unlock my bootloader! Is it possible to install CWM with locked bootloader in Xperia L? Will it be bug-free?
Thanks in advance!

i think its still in development phase mate....

Are you sure? I'm really looking forward for CWM.. is it available for unlocked boot loader? I'm ready to unlock my bootloader in that case.

yes it is available for unlocked bootloaders and working perfectly....

It has a major bug where the phone does not reboot, and all those who installed that are looking forward to uninstall it. Would love to see an update from those developers, perhaps waiting for a stable version!

[Q] Root without unlocking bootloader on ICS 4.0.3?

Hey guys I'm trying to keep the bootloader locked and have root access. Just got the OTA ICS update. Is this possible? I'm still stock everything.
No. Unlock it now if you want root. Unlocking it wipes everything off the phone.
Best time to do it is when the phone is new or now that you just got 4.0 you can wipe and fresh start with the new os

Thanks dude, I saw this guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=935819
I tried to follow Part 3, to root without unlock and wipe but I get an error.
Thanks a lot, I'm just worried about warranty. Does Samsung care about unlocked bootloaders?
I just came from a HTC handset and HTC didn't seem to care too much.
The bootloader can be relocked on this device.
I've tried all the guides. The phone keeps reflashing the stock recovery and I flashed the superuser.zip I can't seem to get root access. I've unlocked bootloader.
Stock roms have a script in them that overwrites the recovery every boot. Probably already a 100 plus threads about it here. Search for it.
If you flashed the latest su.zip with a custom recovery you have root. You may have just flashed the binary and need to get superuser app from market or you flashed the old zip prior to ice cream sandwich.
Are u using a windows computer or Mac?

allows anyone to root a Nexus S without unlocking the bootloader.
I tested it on my i9023 running stock ICS and it worked perfectly.

I am sorry I am new to samsung/odin devices. am i correct thinking that there is a kexec-CWR for the locked bootloader and a regular CWR for the unlocked bootloader? also does the fact that the bootloader is locked or unlocked matter which roms you can flash ie some roms can only be flashed with a locked bootloader and some can only be flashed with an unlocked bootloader. or can any rom can be flashed with any bootloader locked or unlocked.
I hope i am making sense.

most were made for the kexec route. if you have unlocked your bootloader.... you need to try and get a rom with the kexec part removed. like this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788443

This is how I understand it:
Basically, when you start the phone it loads software.
If you cannot unlock the bootloader (the part that tells the phone what software to load) then you must find a different way to load a rom like CM9/10 which uses different kernels.
So kexec forces a load into the phones memory upon boot, which loads a kernel, which allows you to load something like CM9/10
Now we can just load the proper kernel and not use kexec.
CWR is just a recovery environment that allows for you to flash things to the phone. Kexec needs to run it each time the phone boots so as to load the required kernel but upon a reboot this data is dumped, and you must load it again when the phone restarts.
im sure there were good roms before. My point is that i am running a rooted unlocked bootloader phone, what are the good roms for my device.

i posted a link above to one.
yeah i checked that one out. im not ready to jump on that bandwagon just yet.its not polished enough. im just looking for an optimized stock rom
Any rom that was out before it was unlocked can still be used now. You could still use CM9/10 before last night.

Yes the only way it will lock again is if you do it. And it is advised not to.

You will be ok to update. you have to boot Twrp again if you want it and flash su Again if you want it. flash fire is suppose to take a update now and keep root. I haven't tested it through. Going to try it soon

I don't have TWRP or any other recovery installed. I left it stock just unlocked bootloader and flashed SuperSU so I could edit the build.prop to use tethering with my unlimited data plan. I'm a little afraid to change much since nothing seems to be designed for my build number.

So you flashed TWRP and custom ROM with no problem then? I'm actually pretty happy with the stock ROM I just want to make sure not to lose unlocked bootloader in case I want to later. Thank you for the input.

Yea no problems. My main reason we're for the nav bar settings, I hate having my back button on the left. And tethering. But you can find those mods with stock to

No. The only way you can relock your bootloader without bricking your device is to be completely stock before relocking.
