[Q] How to flash stock rom/firmware on a bricked Xperia C? - Sony Xperia C

After moded my xperia c to add bravia engine, I was stuck on boot animation. The phone was not in USB debugging mode since I was trying to mod it after a recent software update using sony pc companion. Tried flastool, SP Flashtool, SUS & Pc companion to repair it but everything just don't work. Is there any other way to repair it other than sending it to service centre?

Have you tried the "repair my phone/tablet" option on the pc companion? if not try it. it worked for me. turn-off your xperia c. make sure it's turned-off. open sony pc companion. connect your phone to your pc via usb. click on the start button on the support zone box/tab. click start on the phone/tablet software update. click the "repair my phone/tablet" link. the blue text with an underline. follow the onscreen instruction.

Try Sony Update Centre.. Just make sure your fastboot & flashboot drivers are properly
Sent from Xperia S LT26i
Hit Thanks if I was helpful to you..

I had tried both of your suggestion but unfortunately it does not work for me. I end up sending it to Sony service centre yesterday. Finger crossed now and hope for the best.

just got my xperia c today from sony service centre. luckily they did not know I had rooted my phone and they did not charge me for repairing it. :victory:

sorry for being late

1. Pc companion (error: no new update avialable for your phone),
2. EMMA (error: bootloader locked)
may be there is a chance for flashing with flashtool , where to get sony xperia c firmware (.ftf) file?
** may be one big chance is restore original build.prop with CWM using update.zip.
** my xperia came with "android recovery 3e " and its all time shows "installation aborted" with update.zip file........... so do u know how to install CWM with flash boot or any other way???

[HELP]Xperia J BRICK

I installed AVD Rom on my Rooted Xperia J with Locked Bootloader running on Stock ICS 11.0.A.7.5, after following all the instructions like Wiping The System Cache, the Dalvik Cache and the formatting /system. I was already at the instruction where I had to install the ROM itself It said it had a problem on the SDCard and I realized that the zip file of the rom was supposed to be placed in the ext_card, which i removed earlier before installing the ROM.
As a result I removed the battery Even with CWM On and after inserting the ext_card with the ROM I booted up and it stayed stuck in the SONY Logo and I was unable to enter CWM
I tried Reflashing the Stock ICS with Xperia Flasher but the phone won't even enter flashmode even if I am holding the Vol- button while connecting to PC all it says is Device Connected with USB debugging mode off. I tried to repair it with Sony PC Companion but it is also not detected by PC companion.
Please help guys I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Use pc companion and repair your phone

Download Sony Update Service and follow it's instruction to fix your phone.
For me it worked.
Charge your XJ's battery using an external battery charger! That happened to me also! I charged my battery and tried and flashmode as well as fastboot started to work

Thank you for ur reply, yes bootloader was unlocked and I was trying to install the custom rom but after restarting my xperia L never started again. Black dead...no logo just red LED blinking and I tried key combination but nothing. To repair through sus and flash tool it should be recognized by the pc. Its being recognized as unknown device by pc and did try to install driver manually but no luck. In both sus and flash tool I found message no phone attached.
Plz guide me.

Thanx, Before this issue with my Xperia L I was using PC companion and I guess this already installed drivers but now neither PC companion/SUS nor flash is detecting my phone. I am using windows 8 currently but I also tried on windows 7 to install the drivers but no luck. My friend suggested that I need a boot loader as all the data in my Xperia L has been washed out due to bad flashing. In my country no boot loader device available for Sony Xperia 2013 models. Any alternate solutions?
Bootloader..?!! I think you don't have any kernel in your phone currently that's why it isn't recognizing your phone by the PC.. Try using SUS on Windows 7..make sure your driver's are installed properly.. Either through SUS or Flashtool..
If your phone is Not Recognized by Flashtool that means you don't have Required Drivers Installed. Use the Below method to Solve this Problem.
Open the folder /Flashtool/drivers & Install "ggsetup-2.2.0.11".
If Still after the Above Process Flashtool doesn't Recognize your Phone. Use this Method.
Open the /Flashtool/driver folder & Extract the "XXX_ADB_Driver.zip" anywhere on your PC/Mac/Linux. [ This Zip corresponds to your Phone Model. ]
Now Open "Device Manager" on your PC/Mac/Linux & find the device which is with an Exclamation mark on it. [ Make sure your phone is Connected to the PC ]
Right Click on that Device & Choose Update Driver.
Choose to find the Driver Manually.
Now Browse to the Folder where to have Extracted your Phone Model Zip File.
This will Install the Required Drivers on your Computer.
After that Open Flashtool Again & Try to Recognize your Device.
If Still you see any problem reply back for further assistance..
Hit Thanks if I helped you..

Hi pervenkal, try varunpilankar steps, I too faced this issue while flashing my Xperia L for the first time, 7 months ago. But it is most probably driver issue, during that time I tried lots of drivers even the one given with flashtool, but finally drivers from ADT bundle helped me.

Maybe is this the problem

The red blinking light sounds like your battery is low, I read about someone who had do e this not long ago. Couldn't boot tinto recovery because they had insufficient charge. Charge your phone on mains power for an hour, and then try flashtool again. But make sure you wipe everything.

Second, Flashing Xperia M ftf to Xperia L is a guaranteed brick ==

Don't connect your phone until and unless sus asks you to do that... Select your device then it will tell you when and how to connect your device.
i think it's HARD BRICKED, no boot logo, no three times vibration when trying to force turn off (POWER + VOL UP button), only red static light when charging both from pc or charger.
And sometimes i heard a sound when plugging the phone to pc, it's like my PC is trying to recognize the phone but always fail, i also heard the sound when trying to flash it using flashtool, Wmshua Perfect Brush, SUS, or PC Companion.

[Q] Brick problem, maybe?

Hi. I got some problems with my Xperia L C2104 today. Few days ago, it just display Entel logo and get freeze from there. After that, I try to restore it with Sony PC Companion, but it throws an error in "Updating Screen" (I choosed repair cel/table, etc etc), something about internet connection or something else. Then, I read a lot about flashing, fastboot, flashboot and everything on this forum, and I try many solutions exposed here and none works for me . My situation is the following; I can enter in fastboot, the blue light turns on and my PC recognize it, but some solutions, like use command window, throws me an error like "FAILED: Commando not allowed". This message appairs when I try:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
etc
Includes, fastboot reboot, for instance.
My PC doesnt recognize my phone in "flash boot", the green lights turn on but nothing happens .
Can I do something else? I wanna discard some reasons about this problem, but I need some help.
This is my first post, and my english isn't so good., sorry.
Please help me !

Entel logo is my operator, like Vodafone, for example. Few days ago, my phone get that logo, after "Sony" screen and then get freeze. I want to wake up my phone, I cant access it. About the ROM, it was using the stock rom. I dont think that is a driver problem, before all of this, Sony PC Companion could recognize my phone when I was trying to "repair" with it. But actually, Flash Tool doesn't recognize my phone in flash boot, but it does in fastboot. Well, I tried to flash a kernel with Flash Tool in fast boot mode, but I received the same message (FAILED: Command not allowed), reading and reading I imagine that my phone doesn't allow to unlock the bootloader. In addition, I try to unlock it officially (Sony's tutorial using IMEI, etc) but I received the same message (FAILED: Command not allowed). I read that if a phone can't access to the fast boot, it means that it not allow bootloader unlocking. How can I explain, so, that I received Command not allowed every time?
Just right now, I think that my phone loses its battery level, so when I connect it to the computer, I listen the Windows sounds (when u connect a new hardware) but nothing happens, I cant find my device in the device manager neither. Then, the initial red light turns on green light and i listen the sound that indicates a device disconnecting . In addition, my phone doesnt recharge its battery right now.
So, some ideas now?
Thanks.

Thanks for ur answer. Anyway, I can't go to the dialer, 'cause I can access to the phone. In addition, I check fastboot and flashboot when I install the flash tool. I just know that ftf is an extension for ROMs, but flashtool just admite it when I try to flash en flash boot, but, I CANT ACCESS TO THE FLASH BOOT ! So I try to flash some boot.img in fast boot mode, but I get that ****id message (FAILED: Command not allowed).
Thanks.

I tried to install the drivers again in another computer, but the situation is the same. I installed ADK Manager, and select all recommended drivers for android devices. When I try to put my phone in flash mode (vol -) my PC sounds and I get a red light. After 30 sec aprox, the red light turns on green, and W7 sounds like a hardware disconnect. After that, Sony PC Companion and Flash tool dont recognize the flash mode that Im trying, and well, same situation.
Thanks for ur ideas. I dont know what to do XD

Do this and restart your pc
Used latest flashtool ver..
In flashtool folder there's drivers folder to install the driver
tick those for installing the phone driver(taoshan)
Sometimes usb's cable also can make it worst...so try play a bit..

I uninstall all USB drivers from Device Manager, and re-install all drivers that I need (I guess) + the drivers that u suggested me, but I get the same situation . Reading on internet, some people say that if I received the error "Device unplugged" on "Unidentified Device", probably it happens 'cause the device has not the enough energy to turn on. It can explain a lot of things, but certainly I dont know how to charge my phone. Connecting it to the energy doesn't work :C. Maybe I just have to leave it on Sony Technical Support, but well... I dont know what more to do
Sorry for this, and thanks for ur help

[Bootloop] Sony XZ Premium

Hi, I need help with my XZ Premium. After updating an OTA the phone went into bootloop mode. I have tried to repair from Companion and Flashtools with several Firmwares and nothing has worked. When it turns on, it enters the Sony logo and it restarts the blue led ignition and then green led. Any help please? Thanks in advance and sorry for my English

Download Xperiafirm, find the latest 'custom' build for your region and download that.
Download Newflasher and put a copy of all the files into the same folder as your firmware.
Delete userdataxxx.sin. This keeps your data partition.
Unplug phone from PC.
Turn phone off completely. Volume up (+) and power until the phone vibrates three times.
Start Newflasher.exe
Hold volume up(+) on phone while plugging in USB lead.
Let Newflasher do its thing, takes 5 minutes mimum, don't unplug until you're told to.
You might need the Sony drivers if you haven't done this before.
Edit: I don't understand how you can go wrong with Xperia companion, it tells you what to do. The fact that your phone fires up means that the boot sector is working fine, along with flashboot. I'm guessing that you're not turning the phone off properly before you try any of the flashboot procedures.

Thanks for answering so quickly. I tell you the following. I try to do what you say but I get an error. I looked for information about it and it tells me that I have to have the "Activated Debugging" which I do not have active and I can not start the S.O to activate it. I do not have the Bootloader unlocked either. I await answers, thanks!

You shouldn't nneed debugging enabled, you would get that error if you were plugging the phone in with the volume down(-). But you're not going into recovery, you want volume up(+) into flash. You don't need USB debug enabled for flash.

all of the methods listed so far are tedious, but everyone is ignoring the easiest and best one: download the Xperia Flash Tool from Sony Developer World, plug in your phone (I forgot the key combination), and it will automatically find the right and most recent, Sony-approved firmware, and all that you have to do is press okay. I get my XZP into bootloops about every month, and every time all that I have to do is plug it in and press okay.

ah. that makes more sense. in that case, you can't use newflasher or flashtool as they require an unlocked bootloader. personally, i'd contact sony, as your warranty should still be valid. if they won't help, you can always go to sony developer world and get a bootloader unlock code. then use fastboot to unlock your bootloader in fastboot mode (works even while it's in a bootloop) (if you need the commands lmk). after that you can use sony's flash tool, flashtool, or newflasher.

I think there's some confsion between Sony's Emma and Xperia companion.
One is used to repair and back up your phone and the other is for flashing firmware builds. Niether of them require the bootloader to be unlocked.
Flashtool and Newflasher can also be used without unlocking the bootloader.
The difficult thing seems to be turning the phone off properly before trying to connect it to Xperia companion for repair. But there are instuctions in this thread and the linked thrreads above. At some point you've got to decide if flashing this is within your skillset, if not then send it back for repair. Make sure you've registered your phone, then call the helpline.

Hi! There is your unlock code: 595EEC6F3A360C86 But anyway on this site you can generate at everytime a new one. on the sony developer site you can find many more informations about the Emma Software, and so on. What is happend with your Phone? In my case, it was on the charger, and the cable got little bit burned or melted, and since that the phone is in the bootloop, its restarting repeatedly without end. It shows a Sony Logo, and thats all.... Sad story, it happend already two years earlier, but it was only 6 months old...
Ok, it seems this thread is a bit older but i have the same Problem, search the Web and try to fix it X Times with flashing by using all the WWW is giving me to use. Nothing off all that works but then i found out the Solution.
My exact Problem was when i start the XZP, it boot up, i can see the Sony Logo for a few seconds (5-10) then led flashes very Quick greenblue and green then it resatarts and the Bootloop begins.
I Unplug all the Flex wires inside and after that i plug in only Battery and Power/Volume Buttons. after that, the XZP starts Normal. after that i plugged in one Flex after another and finally find out, the System stucks with the Main (rear) Camera plugged in on the Board.
I think it depends on a Shortcut on the Camera or the Phone is fall to the Ground.
I change the Camera to a new one and the Problem is fixed.
Maybe this can also be a Solutin for other series XZ Phones with the same problem.
I hope this is also helpfull for others.
Sorry for my bad english, i can wrirte it also in german if wished and maybey someone can Translate it correctly.
