Hi,
OP updated with a test version of GLTools for XDA with almost no restrictions (dixit n0n3m4).
Since this version is not a paid version, please try it and leave feedbacks :good:

Hi,
It depends of what settings you used
I have not had time to take a closer look ...

It may be a good idea to move this thread to the generic Android Apps+Themes section as the Dev had granted you permission and has given a free community version of the application.
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk 2

Hi,
For now, for me it's only about the G2. I could not follow the thread if it's related to another devices...
In any case feel free to report the thread if you really think that the Android general apps section would be better
Nobody else tests for the G2?
I have no time for now to test closely. I might send a PM to the dev to have more help.
One user has reported something but without any details and but never came back for more information...

What do you need to test?

i bought this app on playstore before i found out it was free here, which is perfectly fine as i consider that a well deserved donation, this is a project i really hope goes somewhere, my hope is that essentially, it'll do the same thing you might find in consoles, the backwards compatibility between generations of console, like being able to play a ps2 games on the ps3, but in this case being able to, for example, play tegra 2 games such as gameloft games (which i might add gamelofts piss poor support by the way), on more recent cpu's gpu's
And big kudos to the developer man, for providing a free version for the community, not alot of playstore devs do that, so when one does its something i definatly take notice off, and makes the donation even more worth is
One question though, which one is fully featured, the playstore version or the xda version, i dont see an option on the playstore version to download any texture plugin which has been mentioned either on this thread or the other one, is it in the playstore install by default
My particualr situation, im on 4.1.2 touchwiz, which has installed ok, no bootloops, no obvious issues with the install
My Device Specifications:
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note_10_1_n8010-4670.php
Cpu:
Exynos 4412
Gpu:
Mali-400MP
Im trying to get an old backup of a tegra 2 game "The Settlers HD" to work, right now, as soon as it gets pass the gameloft logo, everything goes white, literaly, the game runs, i can see and select text, i can load a map, but everything else is white, same thing with with another device which has tegra 3 cpu and a ULP GeForce Gpu......my question, any knowledgeble folks know if gltools can help me with this, or whether gltools can potentially in the future resolve this issue, ive tried gltools, but its like the blind leading the blind here, im randomly trying this and that and hoping something works, which granted is not the best approach, especially after seing a comment on samsung incompatibility AFTER the fact, feels like ive dodged a bullet, my device, a samsung device, doesnt seem to have suffered any ill effect, not one that is obvious anyway

Description
nds4droid is the first Nintendo DS emulator for high-end Android phones (1ghz+ recommended).
REQUIRES A HIGH END ANDROID DEVICE (such as Nexus S, Galaxy S). If the framerate is slow, it's because your phone is not smart enough. This is a very heavy emulator!
Current features:
- On-screen interface
- ROM loading
- Save states
- APP to SD
DUE TO PERFORMANCE REASONS SOUND IS CURRENTLY DISABLED (would crack). Sound will be enabled for certain devices in the near future.
This emulator it's far from perfect and will be getting a lot of updates over the next couple of weeks/months. Please know this when you purchase.
Please send any feedback/comments to [email protected] - I appreciate it!

I think it's too pricy for a beta
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk
ill have to try this out for sure when i get paid! $10 is kinda pricey tho
From what I've read, this is so early in beta it should almost be considered alpha.
I've tried running Pokemon Diamond on my Dinc running IncROM 1.5beta2 and no luck. Currently flashing a backup of CM7 Nightly 32 to see if it can do any better.
EDIT: CM7 Nightly 32 also doesn't run Pokemon Diamond. Updating to Nightly 34, although performance is unlikely to change.
Does Pokemon Heart Gold work on this emulator? Either way, I'll buy this once it gets updated to a more stable version.
Can it be installed HTC G2?
Yes, but wait for the app to be update coa right now its very slow and buggy.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
I'll be amazed if this lasts longer than the N64 emu.
Whoa. Ten dollars for a beta. That's a little excessive. Going to wait for a stable release. Almost sounds like a scam. Lol.
It's $10 and one poster on Reddit said that none of the roms he tried even worked.
Yeah...I think the previous poster may be right.

Well, it is not a scam, but it is far from being worth $10.
I am trying it right now.
First i tried Fire Emblem, but all i got was a white screen.
I decided to get a lighter ROM and tried Space Invaders Extreme 2.
I am looking at it right now, and i have the top intro screen.
It took a few minutes to load from the "saving game" warning into the intro.
The buttons don't seem to be working at all, and the touch screen is just black.
In any case, it is an emulator, not a scam.
Albeit a very buggy one that should be available for free if the coder wants to get some serious input to advance this project.
There aren't even any settings on this thing.
Too much of a rush to make a quick buck, imo.
ETA:
Friggin Launcher Pro is closing on me now, and i don't seem to be able to get back on TW...
Guess it's time to reboot and uninstall this app for now.
I agree this one is a beta an we all Should wait till they release an updated and more stable version.

I'm still going to wait it out for a more optimized release. Hope it will run smoothly on my SamCap.
I wanna try it on my Xoom but I will wait for the bugs to be cleared up.
I was curious and bought it and oh boy i made a Mistake. This emulator is so bugy that the roaches on my apartment got scared.

Trying to get Pokemon Soul Silver running but I only get a white screen/flickering screen and since there is no sound I can't hear if the game is actually running in the background. It seems to try though...
Yeah, Sorry I wont be jumping onto this one. I can get every other Emu for near half the price.

They said something about 2.2 and supported devices. Since the XT720 doesn't officially have 2.2, dunno if CB froyo counts maybe we're out of the loop on this one. Haha well its not like its going to make a difference in the part of the world where im living anyways, but yeah I like the UI.
As do I.
Anyways google tends to do updates OTA for all devices as long as they meet specifications. I'm confident that as long as you're on 2.2, you'll get it.
And now there's an apk up for it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1166152

/what is an official ROM anyway, some fast pushed moto rom full of crap?
Android is android.... there is no such thing as official really, just some companies run by #$%ers that force and open source project to be closed....
So now since we closed it we can call it official,
The market will check your version and update if your version is supported thats all.
If flash will install then you have 2.2 trust me.
If stupid Moto would unlock the damn bootloader we could write a ROM you could flash, but it's not so we found a work around Nandroiiid.
I my opignion every nandroid ever put on this forum is official as long as it boots up and is funtional,
Does anyone remember stock 2.1.1?

Every single ROM that has been Deved on this forum was better,

What gives. I find also a little sluggish at times And loading takes longer. Not really digging th windows phone 7 look either.
Better at app finding but definitely sluggish (on the first screen at least).

It requires linux kernel 3.3 + not sure if its because of the android patchs that were added to that version, or because it really needs linux 3.3, if the later, we probably won't see webOs running on android devices for a while.

I think it's great that WebOS can now make its way to the latest and greatest from Android, but I don't know if I see much a point, no android device has a gesture area... Unless someone can make a capacitive-to-screen upward swipe do something, just as well for left and right across the home, menu, back and search buttons...or WebOS could be adapted to use the four buttons, that sounds more practical.
Even still, it would have to have Play Store access and be able to run Android apps if it were to be more than a toy.
I'd still like to see it on my Thunderbolt.
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda app-developers app
There is an android launcher, wave, that mimics the webOS wave very well and shows that a gesture area is feasible - use the wave all the time on my GNote. I never got the webOS wave working right but it is perfect on my GNote.

I will note that the HP Touchpad did not have a gesture area either, just the main "Home" button or whatever you want to call it. It was setup that the home button would bring you to card view. There was really no need with for menu buttons or anything else with the way WebOS was setup. It worked quite well, and I would love to see this on more Android built phones.

[Free][3D]Zombie Nights[Awesome]

Hello everybody I'm new to the development scene and this is my first release which I am offering free for now. Here's a link to the Google play store, I would love to hear feedback and suggestions. It's a first person zombie survival game, but this one's actually coming out good(or so I've been told). I should mention it's in beta and its called Zombie Nights. Here's the link enjoy, and thanks for reading.
Here's the link to for screenshots and download(Google Play Store)
I'll be monitoring this thread if you have any suggestions that you would like to see in the game. Currently I'm working on the multiplayer and adding random missions during the night while fighting off zombies.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm trying to fix the lag I've already reduced it a lot from the first build, the only thing I can think of trying now is using occlusion culling.
Thanks again for checking it out hopefully I can fix this issue soon.
Looks like it's gonna be like DayZ (never played it but I want to!), it's very laggy on my Galaxy SII, but it's underclocked to the max, so that may be why. The graphics look good, can't wait for it to smoothen up .

Yeah, definitely because it's underclocked I've tested it on an SII it runs good. The funny thing is I didn't find out about Day-Z until I was halfway into the game but that's basically what I was going for with the multiplayer. I have a windows and mac beta already running really smooth that connect to a multiplayer server which is cross platform for the android, windows, mac, and web browser. The multiplayer is basically gonna be kind of like Day-Z but I'm gonna try to add more dynamic environment events. Also Zombie Nights is full supports all features cross platform. I started writing this for android first so I can make the android experience as immerse as the desktop version.
Thanks again.

Hey thanks for checking it out and the feedback, I'm starting to focus on optimizing the code to fix the lag on some devices. The 3D assets are pretty much 90% optimized so I feel like the lag on some devices is simply inefficient code.
The game seems to really run smooth on HTC devices mostly, but again I'm working to make it run smooth on all popular devices.
Thanks again.
Hey thanks for offering this for free - excited to give it a shot after the d/l finishes.
One thing I noticed from screenshots though is that the "Next" button looked a little close to the directions arrows. Though that's just speculation because I haven't played it for real yet.

No problem it's ad supported so I was thinking of a cheap 99 cent or 1.99 for those who really can't stand ads but I've made them to be as non intrusive as possible i.e. they'll never show up at night when you have to kill zombies or something.
Thanks.

yes, it's the first app to say that.
tested the game (no night time yet, no time).
game has a little... jump in performance.
controls are really hard, and sometimes stick to going right or left.
graphics are awesome.

Thank you. It's still in a relativity early beta this has been about four months of work, but I'm constantly improving code and graphics overhead.

Thank you glad to hear you got it running, and I am happy to say that I found the root cause for the lag and performance issues on most phones, it's the draw call count my game goes from 400 during the day to a whopping 700 at night and in order to keep it running smooth on androids and iPhones the draw calls should remain below 80. So needless to say I have a ton of optimization that needs to be done but I already started working on it and hopefully soon the game will be completely re hauled to fix the performance issues. But I have two exams next week(Discrete Math and Probability and statistics for engineers, yikes) that will slow down the process a bit, but I assure you(and everyone reading)I will fix all the performance issues.
Thanks again everyone for showing interest and giving me good feedback. XDA is an awesome community. I'll still be answering questions and taking suggestions.
Cool idea Keep it up!

There's a store for ammo if you cross the bridge and go right its the last building closest to the water, also at night that store closes so you can find more ammo in the ally adjacent to the ammo store but it costs double at night(To keep things interesting I guess haha).
I know it may be confusing to figure tings out because there is no tutorial mode or help, but I plan to add an optional tutorial in level 1 or help section in the main menu.
Just downloaded and looking forward to its improvements in the future. Only thing I would say is when you come to pricing to remove ads remember that at 1.99 you may get 1,000 who pay, at 0.99 you get 10,000+ who will pay. Most rooted phones have ad remove programs and if they don't work people are more likely to just delete or live with it. I understand the work and effort that goes into these things so a small charge is more than reasonable but I've seen more than a few apps that I've deleted rather than pay silly amounts. Of course you can charge what you want but just my thoughts.
Oh and good luck with the exams fella.

Native Ubuntu on the Galaxy s3 Please Read

Alright so im going to start by just saying that i had a similar project going with the galaxy nexus but I ran into kernel panic issues, that and I just got busy with life( school, work, job, etc). Now my time has freed up due to my last semester in school. So I am looking to pick this project back up but for the galaxy s3 Verizon...
Now i already have a compiled image based on the Ubuntu Leo originally created for the HD2( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOPu6DgbOs4 ) ......... this week i will be working on a kernel.
Now the image itself has been modified slightly from the hd2 version,...I will be looking for devs to help me with a kernel if this is you and you would be interested in helping please pm me. if you would like to alpha this also pm me ill start a list in this thread. Looking to get this going quick. ill have the image up by the end of the week if anyone is interested in experimenting with it. and i'm hoping for an alpha stage build by the end of the month.
If you have any questions just ask away.
Project Ubuntu
What you need to know
There is plans on having fully 3g/4g capability
Plans on MMS Capability
This is not a direct full desktop port. Its a modified/ optimized for armed devices based on the image used with the HD2
It will use a Linux based android Kernel
If you would like to Alpha this please PM me, and if you would like to help with the kernel ( I could use the help) also PM me.
I will update with progress later, and update with more details later. The point in doing this is the exact same as it has been in the past....because it would be pretty flipping awesome and secondly this would open Ubuntu up, it would offer up just another OS option.
PLEASE VIEW THE VIDEO TO GET AN IDEA OF WHAT THE BUILD IS LIKEHERE
Awesome.
I have a question though. Will the OS boot as a stand alone operating system or will it boot inside android?
my tapatalk signature sucks more than yours.
It will be a stand alone no chrooted. It to start will run along side android booting from the sdcard like a dual boot set up. After beta it will be flashed in place of android
Sounds great

Bad ass man.

Sounds cool but what is the point of doing it on a phone? It would be impossible to use. Should do it for the Nex10.

It is very possible to use, I have chroot linux mint running on my phone right now.
I direct port would make much smoother and more compatible as well. Just imagine connecting a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and hooking up to your tv. Extremely portable linux machine.

I don't see how it would work since everything would be shrunk down and hard to tap on. Also still not portable as you would need to carry around a mouse and keyboard. Just my opinion. Once again cool idea but i don't see it as being useful on such a small screen.

First off try looking at the youtube video.... the port its self has been modified for armed devices ( hense the youtube video) Second the version of ubuntu my image is based off of does have 3g capability writing a module to use with 4g wouldn't be to difficult. Third just to make this clear when beta is released it will have MMS Capability, and Phone capability. Again look at the youtube video. its not a direct port from the desktop version its an optimized and modified for armed devices.

I'm not trying to upset anyone so don't flame me. I just don't see how it will work on a phone. I'll keep my mouth shut and try it when its released.
Good work and great idea! I would be more than happy to test the beta of this out...I need reliability, so unfortunately I wouldn't be able to go through the alpha paces for more than a day.

Don't worry your not being flamed. It will still have the functionality of a phone. I
Sounds like a cool idea! Very interesting to have a different flavor for your phone OS. I'd love to be on that alpha list.

Hey guys sorry for the delay in response.... I I am officially done with classes as of Fridayso..
Secondly tmr ill be updating the oOpp possible starting a whole new development Opp.
Right now I'm currently working on a kernel.. I its coming along but slow. I appreciate the support ill update the this Opp when I get home.
THIS is what I have been waiting for! I'm no dev, but I would love to see this happen and am willing to help how I can (testing, bouncing ideas off of, etc). I'll see if I can't rustle up a bit of support as well, shouldn't be hard to get a few capable souls interested, especially if you post this in the other carrier forums and see if this can be cross-device compatible for all carrier variants?
