I had an HTC phone and I could flash radios. Can the same be done with the S3?
Note that the bootloader is unlocked.
And if so, does anyone know where I can get the latest radio from the I535VRUCML1 update?

Now I'm confused.
It says to not flash anything but then gives links to them and recommends to flash one. :what:

Definitely doesn't say that.
It says do not flash an ml1 firmware package. He says specifically to flash the latest mf1 firmware package, then flash the ml1 radio only. It's a little confusing, so make sure you understand it before you flash anything.

So right now I'm rooted with BMB1.
Basically flash the MF1 radio and then flash the ML1 radio, rather than just jumping from BMB1 straight into ML1?
Sorry man, I'm just still confused on what it's saying.

This is my comprehension...
I'm on MB1 still.
So I must go here and flash MF1 for D2VZW:
http://invisiblek.org/d2firmware.html
Then go here: http://invisiblek.org/sch-i535/modems/d2vzw_ML1_modem.zip
and the ML1 radio should start downloading... then flash it?
Both of these are good to flash in recovery without any wipes.
Is this correct? Lol.

More information. What ROM, do you have a custom recovery? If you have stock recovery then the ota def updated itself. If your stock rooted then it will do that without asking

do i have to flash the 4.0.4 one, or can i flash the pre rooted version. and then i follow steps 8-12 in s.12?
???

I used that one and it wouldn't flash cwm after flashing the boot chain. I just odined back to stock ICS, rooted and unlocked, then flashed cleanrom 5.5.1 same thing lol or you can even flash the stock jellybean ROM floating somewhere around here

It works fine and you can run JB rom over ICS firmware but you don't have all the updates to the 15 or so partitions that you don't see. lol

RPM is really the only partition that we can pull and fllash like that. There are several other partitons that are hidden. Don't even see them when you Odin. There are partitions inside of the main partitions like the ones where IEMI are stored.

I have no clue. Depends what they change. And nobody knows what is tied to what. I always update all the firmware when OS changes or there is a major change such as adding Global. A 400 MB update there is more than just a rom upgrade.

There isn't any guide to unroot you just flash an unrooted stock ROM via Odin and that is it.

How do I tell which bootloader I have? Recently I flashed CleanROM 7 from CleanROM 6.0 R2. After finding some glitches I decided to flash back.
Upon going back, now my camera says "Camera Fail" when I try to open it.
I've searched and tried all the recommendations. One that I found suggests trying a previous bootloader.
How would I go about this?

For education purposes, the bootloader is not your problem. There's only two bootloaders to have, unlocked and locked. You need an unlocked bootloader to use custom roms on this device. You want a locked bootloader when you are using a Verizon official, bloated stock rom.
What you want is the modem firmware or just plain "firmware." You can flash in recovery the VRBMB1 firmware zip and see if this helps you. Visually, you'll see a change in Settings/About Phone/Baseband.
I thought that sounded strange. I'll try going back to the previous modem and RPM package and if that helps. Thanks

Yea, Samsung implemented some change in the kernel for VRBMF1 that automatically checks for the trust zone or something to that effect. The trust zone is included with the VRBMF1 firmware so downgrading to a VRBMB1 rom will cause the camera to fail instantly. Basically, Mastamoon and Invisiblek figured out what the issue was and boom, happy community. There are some people who still have issues after this but one less person helps out.

ive been looking around for information about updating the bootloader in my S3....its unlocked but it doesn't seem to want to flash the latest roms and from what ive been reading it seems the bootloader is the issue
any help would be appreciated
Um you can't update the bootloader on the S3. Maybe you meant recovery? Certain recoveries in the past had issues flashing stuff. Go grab GooManager and update TWRP using that app. Maybe that will fix your issue.

You can update the bootloader, can you link the thread that suggests that? Usually it isn't needed to run custom roms.
