[Q] How do i use the controller for any PC game? - Shield Q&A

The question here is this. I can launch steam with my shield. Awesome! but i have noticed some game like Blocks that matter, for example, will not see the shields controls. Is there anyway to get this to work? I do enjoy indie games from steam but at the same time i wanna play them on my shield when im in bed relaxing or in the living room.

If the game doesn't have native xbox 360 controller support it can get a bit tricky.
Here are the instructions:
https://forums.geforce.com/default/...ications-xpadder-pinnacle-game-profiler-etc-/
xpadder can now read the shields inputs for any game as well and is a bit easier:

I believe it only works with the beta version of xpadder, I have not tried it personally but it's got to be an easier route than the first option.

That's what I'm wondering. Seen a bajillion of these auto-running platformers beat the already-beaten-to-death concept further into the ground. Is this at least the one responsible for the new age of "everyone trying to be like world runner 3d/space harrier"?

I know that, was just wondering why you'd want the game to be play optimised as its controls are great already, similar to games like angry birds, cut the rope, super monkey ball etc dont need them. But i was presuming you knew what the game was. But the forums are used to talk about non-xperia play games as well from time to time so you're kinda wrong there...

I looked at the screen shots, its a simple game I agree, however different than angry birds. That wouldn't translate well to external controls, this game however has swipe to jump, turn, etc, all things that can be accomplished accurately by the buttons or touch pads on the Xperia Play.
And no I am not wrong, your exclamation of "why would you want that?" well we own a phone with game controls, so do you really need to ask that question?
My game stutters a lot, then a few seconds of smooth gaming, then stuttering, anything to fix this? Also the tilt function stops outta nowhere, making me have to restart :/

Ah I see. Well from what I've seen in college the "hype" of the game comes from competing with scores and the relatively simple swipe controls which become harder and require you to concentrate more as the game progresses- by using the game pad it'd become less competitive(since we'd have advantage over everyone else using touch screen controls) which atleast in London seems to be the lure of the game and so wouldn't make it as fun; thus why I rudely asked "why would you want that". I'm sorry I guess, but this game really does not need xperia play optimisation. Anyways, back on topic....

Wrong. The whole point of having a Play is so that you can play REAL games with REAL controls; not the pathetic time killers that are cut the rope, angry birds, etc...
You have no business owning a Play if those are the games you want.

Apparently not, most Xperia optimised games require already 5mins + to play and even then you aren't playing them for long enough for them to be fun... But hey, I'm not a 'real' gamer, you seriously need to lose egoist attitude, the play is a phone before it is a gaming device and just for future reference I do play both types of games but if you want to play 'real ' games you should be investing in an Actual gaming console or better yet a decent pc.

Rebel Attack II - This screams for touchpad/d-pad support.

Found this last week. It plays pretty good and is fun, but I despise touchscreen controls. This game would be awesome if it had d-pad / touchpad (definately touchpad, d-pad at least) support. What are your thoughts? I'm going to email the developer and request that he add the support.

I believe the game may have been removed from the market. To be honest I was surpised to see it as I am sure Tue maker of the game probably did not ask Lucasfilm if its OK to make the game. I am unable to find the game in the market via a search either. So I can only guess its been removed

[GAME / MUSIC / DRUMMING] FLOW - A Space Drum Saga

Hey everybody,
I just wanted to tell you about my new awesome drumming game, FLOW - A Space Drum Saga. Unlike comparable games, where you just have to hit colored buttons when they reach the bottom of your screen, you really have to feel the rhythm to play the drums and master the game.
If you are talented or musical experienced you can take right off. If not the game might be a little hard in the beginning. Practise for a few games and play with headphones, the reward is twelve unique levels full of style, pathos and fun, and possibly the most incredible gaming experience for a long time. And you will learn to drum. Seriously.
Just give it a try, and tell me what you think. You can download it for free in the Play Store.
I would love to provide some screenshots but my account is too new :/

All you guys seem to think that . Must be the minimalistic graphics, altough those of Patapon are way better. This and drumming is the only thing they might have in common.
However, I think FLOW is Patapon on steroids and has a much more intense and very different gameplay.

Thanks! Yeah, I don't get the Google Play Store. FLOW is ranked pretty badly although it has only good ratings. I guess too many people uninstall the game, because they can't win the first level, or maybe because I don't sell the app. I tried my best to make FLOW popular, but all the game mags and press guys I contacted ignored me or asked for money to write a review. Screw them, xda-dev is much better, and that's why you will get exclusive insights instead of them.
As soon as my other project is done I will start to work on the next FLOW update. If you have any ideas, please let me know. Those are a few things I want to add, but not everything will be part of the next update.
Noob difficulty:
Too many people fail. So the noob difficulty has to get easier. Maybe I will add visual beat indicators like in guitar hero to help beginners get started. This is something I really didn't want to implement, but noobs might need it. At the moment only the first four levels can be played on noob difficulty, the update changes it to the whole game, but the Special Drums will remain hard to be played.
Multiplayer:
Challenging each other online would be damn cool, right? I've got some ideas...
New Levels:
The story of FLOW will be continued. But I won't spoil anything yet.
Level editor:
It would be pretty awesome if everybody could create custom levels for FLOW and share them on the web. This is a LOT of work, and probably won't be part of the next update. But it will come. :fingers-crossed:
I will keep you up-to-date about the progress.

Darren is right. It's supposed to work on your phone. Requirements are SDK 8 (Android 2.2) and above. I have played it on a Galaxy Ace myself some time ago, so this is really weird. Does this happen with other apps too? Do you have enough space on your device? Maybe try a reboot... Sorry, but this is all I can help you with at the moment.
=========================
I have made a public benchmark of FLOW I want to share with you guys:
pastehtml.com/view/cf2osimmc.html (sorry, still no links yet :/)
And the Winner is the good old Galaxy S II, thanks to the smaller screen resolution it beats the bigger S III at FLOW...
If your game is running slow, you should turn off some of the graphics settings, like antialiasing. This can help A LOT.
Played it, love it, it's a really nice fun game. Now excuse me, I'm space-drumming.
I am really enjoying the game on both a galaxy s3 and my nexus 7. I find that it can be a little jittery at times on both devices and I'm hoping that the next update smooths out the overall gameplay.

Actually it should run quite smooth on a galaxy s3. Maybe there are some background processes of other apps that start now and then and lower the performance of the game at times. You can try to use a task killer to shut down all your apps and then launch FLOW.
If this doesn't help or is too uncomfortable, you can turn off some of the graphics settings. Turning off Anti Aliasing improves the performance by 10 - 20%. If you turn off all the graphic settings the game will run up to three times faster, depending on device and level.
Fun game, very original!

[GAME][2.3+] Get The Mouse 0.7.1

Hello everyone, I want to tell you about a new game which was developed by me and one dude in 4 month.
This game is really casual and hard as it turned out for players. Honestly saying casuality of this game is high and you can wonder why this game develope so long time. Unfortunately gamedev is not predicatable thing - seems to be easy, but seems to be no. It seems to be a cool, but it seems to be no. I wrote to 8 publishers (maybe incorrectly I guess and they havn't read), but only one replied, it is LeTang.
Before final verion they said they are quite interested with this game, however when they got a final version for test they denied it. Their arguments were they already have several same games and this game is not outstanding.
Okay, that's alright, whatever, but 4 month of development were behind our backs. Nothing is left only we could try to publish this game by ourselfs.
If you enjoyed with Flappy Bird, you will like Get The Mouse too. But don't think it is a clone, not at all, even game mechanics much more different and diverse, just if gamer could get more then 5 scores in Flappy Bird he will be able to get much more in Get The Mouse or maybe he will can get to the end. Yes, this game has the end but no levels, only one tunnel 200 meters long.
You will pull out the mouse by its tail and don't let it glut oneself cheese, because if it eating the cheese it growing and finally just will stuck in tunnel. And here is an example of tunnel
You can decrease size of the mouse you just need to tap fast on it and it will fart (sorry) and get smaller. Sometimes. when everything is complicated, there is a possibility to use time dilation and while it acts you can decrease its size. Oh yes most hardcore players can gather the coins by their fingers, but is not necessary, because scores will be converted to coins. You can't buy coins for real money.
And finally here is a promo video from youtube
Quality of video is bad, but there was no resources or skills for better.
And here is a link to Google play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=lennon.mouse.android
P.S Let's discuss! I would be glad to answer to your questions if you have some. Also I wonder to read any criticism. I want to discuss this game with other people if someone will be interested to discuss. Thank for you time!
How many other threads goes above this thread.... Does anybody has any comments, please?

Hello again!
Guys, I'm disappointed how Google Play gives and output of search results. On my PC I see this game on 64-th place whe searching "Get The Mouse" without quotes. And on my phone I see it on 14-th place. I wonder how many people stops searching Get The Mouse when they don't see it after two or more scrolls to the bottom of the page.
It looks really hard, but only at first look. Can you make posting of scores? I got 4538 scores, I wonder is there somebody else who could get more?

Engine is LIBGDX and it was took about 4 monthes with some periodical rests. We had not much time for game.
Good idea for this sort of game. Usually games where you are punished for hitting the wall just end on hitting the wall, and leave a frustrated user (me!). With your game you can continue playing, if the mouse has not gotten to fat, and therefore it's fun to play.
Nice game. I really like the graphics In your promo video, I suggest that you use some sort of screen capture software to do that instead of using camera. That's a huge minus point for your game promotion

Ok so I tried out your game so here is some feedback
1) The 2nd level its too hard for players to find the exit , thats why the feedback isn't coming in for you. Thats a shame because the 3rd level purple theme is pretty good.
2) Make the 1st couple of levels shorter so that players get used to finishing levels.
3) Add enemies to the levels to make the game more interesting.
Thats just a few tips there is more but this is a good start. Don't expect feedback until your game has more to it. You can try my games and pick up some idea's for your game.

Also for the people who try out the game and get stuck on the second level. My guess is that it' son level 2 at the undergap of the floating island you just hold left on the ramp and fly so far to the left as possible there you will find the portal. We will move it closer in the next update
Good game. Keep it Up.
