Right, I have a big problem here...
This morning, I downgraded my HBOOT to the 0.83 version on my HTC Desire. After doing this I then installed the origional Android 2.1 Eclair onto it. Everything went perfect until my phone restarted, and then suddenly after unlocking my phone it asked for a SIM Unlock PIN. I have a PIN on my SIM, but this is the PIN you enter to initally acess your phone as a security feature, and when I inputter this code it DID NOT work. So I need quite a bit of help with dealing with this problem. I have managed to get a temporary fix on the problem, by tweaking a bit and installing a different pre-rooted ROM, however I would like to run a Un-Branded version of Froyo 2.2 on my HTC Desire.
I have a British HTC Desire on Orange Contract <I Have Heard Orange Contract Sims Are Blocked?>
All help is greatly appreciated, first post aswell so I hope someone can help thankyou
hi every buddy i have a problem with my htc inspire from AT&T i root it and installed a costume rom but now it dosnt want to read any sim card even the AT&T Sim card can someone tell me what I can do
Which rom are you trying to use?
I know this is a stretch, but did you ever put a lock on your SIM card? So if you boot up the phone you need to enter a code? Maybee a friend tried to get in the phone and for security purposes the phone burns out the SIM...
thanks man look the custom rom im using now is CoreDroid_Desire_HD_GB_2.3.3_V6.6_RV, the first one was gingerbread 2.3 and it works good with any sim card so then i put the coredroid hd but i dont know what happen to it and now i restored to original att software and i did the same steps but it cant read any sim card..
When you rooted, did you set S-off? If not, that could be causing the problem; one of the ROMs might have been from another carrier and set to only accept their SIM cards. When you boot into bootloader (volume-down + power) you should see something like this at the top:
ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF
If you don't see that, re-run the hack kit and select S-OFF from the menu.
I've bought a HTC ONE S for a friend, which was locked to Vodafone. I've unlocked Bootloader, Flashed Recovery and Root, will it now work with any SIM or I still have to change CID?
Regards,
you again ! lol
If its vodafone im 99% sure it will accept any sim card.. Vodafone never give me simlocked phones, They just ram the phone full of bloatware..
All you need to do is pop another simcard in and check it easy peasy..

Hello azzledazzle!
Fantastic news, by the way I've just sent you a PM let me know if you receive it
Yup ! i received it, All 3 of them
anyway, as i said, pop another sim in and try it, you wont need to change CID, Its also impossible to change without S-OFF anyway
Dont forget you need a micro sim !! not a regular one
I've a vodafone one s (vodafone italy but I presume that all vodafone-branded one s are equal) and it works with all operators, I'm using it with H3G italy and it works perfectly. If you want to fully debrand the one s you must wait for s-off to change CID. However if you don't like vodafone spam you can find some nandroid backup of the stock no-brand rom in this forum, but with those can't install future ota updates

Hi Guys,
I have a German HTC Dream / Magic that is simlocked to Vodafone.
I got the phone without card but was able to access the phone just fine, that is till silly me decides to
factory reset the phone before proceeding with the planed cynanogenmod installation.
Now the phone keeps telling me to insert a sim card, even when i insert a (UK) Vodafone sim.
Question, how can i get around this? Will it only work with a German Vodafone card?
Hey everyone,
Well it's all started when i bought a HTC one m8 sprint , i didnt check if the sim was unlocked,
the phone was on kit kat , so I wanted to upgrade it to marshmellow ,i did some research and this guide worked for me perfectly :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-htc-one-m8/general/updating-sprint-htc-one-m8-harman-t3369235
but after upgrading i had an issue with sim it doesnt work **note: i am not us citizen**
and the phone actually before upgrading was SUPERCID 1111111 and after the upgrade remain supercid but suddenly the sim dont work it says when i am in 4g "invalid sim card ; service 4g not available ...." and when i switch to gsm it says "incorrect card; please contact client service".
i tried to use methods but nothing worked for me.
please if there's any solution , guide, hope, save me ?
and thanks in advance
up please i am stuck
