Hello,
I have tried to find an answer to my problem and can't seem to find it anywhere. Hopefully someone here will be able to assist.
Ok So I have an HTC ARIA, sim unlocked, and rooted using unrevoked3, running Aria Liberated custom ROM. Here is my problem I am not NAND (s-0ff) rooted. I have tried running revolutionary and also unrevoked forever. Neither worked. The problem is that I have hboot 0.57.0000 and I need version 1.02.0000 to make those programs work. Additionally, I need the phone to stay sim unlocked as I am in Germany for the next 3 years and am using a German cell phone company. So what I need is eithor a way to NAND root with hboot version 0.57.0000, or confirmation that if I install the stock upgrade to Android 2.2 (available on the HTC website) that my HBoot issue will be fixed with out loosing my sim unlock. I purchased the phone on ebay unlocked, I am not nor have I ever been an AT&T customer so I don't know where I would go to unlock the sim card again if it should become locked, and I don't know the code to unlock it.
Thanking you in advanced
Rebrn
i just notice that my phone is locked again after using ICS with 3.32 base sometime....
im changing of carrier and i would like to know what is the easiest way to RE-unlock my phone (when i bought it i Used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16125079) but now i just want to unlock my phone...
can someone help me please?
When you say 'Locked' do you mean in the HBOOT? That's because it over-writes the original HBOOT when the ICS update goes through
Are you still S-OFF? If so, you can still flash CWM/4EXT via HBOOT using a PG58IMG.zip file
With locked I mean I can use only one sim cardx before I could use any some card is want, my phone got sim locked after installing ics and id like to know how to get sim unlocked again, yeah I'm s-off and rooted using insert coin 5.1.6 right now

This is what that page says: it is our responsibility to caution you that not all claims resulting or caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader may be covered under warranty. Please note that unlocking your bootloader does not mean that you will be able to unlock the SIM lock. Unlocking your SIM lock is at the discretion of your operator/carrier and is not part of the bootloader unlocking scope.
I'm everything, s-off, super CID,rooted, etc.
Any help please??

What HBOOT are you currently on ??
If you are 1.23 this wont allow write commands
either downgrade to firmware 1.17 or update to 1.27

i read that in that tutorial it works perfectly but the link to download the PG58.. links are broken so i cant use that method atleast someone post that archive :/
i know, many broken links around here. ask trkaaa before trying the official unlocking from htc, http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/ but since u s-off, rooted, super cid'ed, i see no harm there.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1233513
EDIT: Ignore that,,,,, Its a link to another link.... which idiot posted that lol
well i already try with htcdev.com and still the same :/
anyone has the PG58DIAG file that could share it to me??
i really need to be unlocked x_X
Call t mobile for the unlock code. Phone locked to carrier has nothing to do with H Boot, HTC unlock, s off, etc. If you never SIM unlocked it to begin with you were lucky it worked on other Networks. There's a thread in development section to SIM unlock your phone.

my phone was sim unlocked when i followed the tutorial, when i bought it it was locked to Tmobile, but after and used the tutorial i could use it with any simcard, i inserted a Telcel simcard, but after i upgrade to ICS the phone is locked again to Telcel, i cannot use any other simcard "just telcel ones" and i cannot call to Tmobile because im from mexico and i bought the phone from ebay
This might be a shot in the dark but have you tried flashing your backup before flashing ICS and tried another Network SIM and see if it works? Was the Telcel SIM in it when you flashed? My thinking is if you go back to GB see if the unlock works again and if it does then you should then try flashing back to ICS without a SIM card in it and see if it is then not locked to a Network. Maybe the flashing with SIM in it caused it. Maybe you could contact the dev who came up with the unlock method and ask him to look into ICS compatibility.
I remember a similar thing happening with a Captivate unlock code not working after flashing FROYO before it's official release.
I found this method and the file link is working. I am going to find my old at&t SIM and see if this works.

Seems someone has discovered how to generate sim unlock codes for HTC devices. Found this over on the Vivid forum, but tried it with my Aria and it seems to work (gotta try it out with my friends T-Mo SIM tomorrow to be sure):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1681145
Don't for get to donate!
Tested it and it worked perfectly.
Edit: It seems that it only works for certain networks - Didn't work with a T-Mobile SIM card, but it did work with a PureGSM SIM.
Same, file operation reports success.
Textural success too
It worked, in as much as it matched the output of the original thread's output. If I get my hands on a different SIM, I'll report actual success...
i couldn't get it to work on my CM9 build.... first time i ran it , ran without an actual sim card in the phone , it never got to IMEI checking though , it just failed , tried it again , sent out another mail and it didn't work like 4 times
afraid to do it on my daily Aria
Are you S-OFF? You must be S-OFF and currently only AlpharevX or an XTC clip are known to gain S-OFF on the Aria.

Actually, I was mistaken. Alpharev.nl is deprecated and Revolutionary.io is the preferred (only?) software S-OFF for Aria.
HTC aria , running CM9 updated to 2.2 stock , then rooted , then flashed roms
i have revolutionary s-off
hboot 6.02.1002
can't get it to work
open mccmnc file fail
open CID file fail
process done , reboot device ?
press volume up
So I got a chance to try it with a co-workers T-Mo SIM and it didn't work even though all the screen messages looked right. Oh Well.

Alpharev(X) and unrEVOked joined teams to create Revolutionary. Yes, Revolutionary is the preferred method to S-OFF the Aria (with the required HBOOT).
got it to work on another SD card tho
ok so it worked with another SD card on the first try ... weird but cool
so does anyone know if this will persist through updates , rom flashing , and or upgrades
and is it safe to run again at a later date....
how serious is the change of what was done ??
just curious if this can hurt in any way
This method doesn't seem to like Partitioned SD cards.
It tried it with a non-partitioned one and it worked.
However, I then tried a T-Mobile SIM and it didn't work, asked me for the code. :/
doesn't work it seems ....... tried a tmobile sim card today , and it asked for the unlock code , tried to skip and didn't do anything
hi.
the same for me.
fat32 init ok
reading config.dat [37]bytes
open CID file fail
wait for AMSS ready...
get device IMEI success
IMEI cheking ... PASS!
process done , reboot device?
after reboot it again asks for 8 digit network unlock code
Hi guys, i have buy a HTC Desire HD, but only the Telekom Sim Card is going.
I have tryed everything but nothing is going.
An other quastion is, that i would flash my phone with this ROM Sabsa_Prime_v15.0_By_AlirezaB.zip but i doesnt find it on TWM.
I set S-Off with AAHK2
Well, hi there again.
I got a problem with my sim card not being recognized at all in one of my HTC One X(L).
The phone that I use all the time is the "endeavoru" with Android version 4.3.1, CM 10.2.1, kernel 3.1.10 and baseband version 5.1204.167.31. My sim card works all perfectly with this phone. The recovery version is CWM 5.8.4.0 and I got bootloader unlocked, Hboot 1.39.0000. The baseband I just posted was from the CM-overview, bootloader tells me I have "RADIO-5.1204.162.29". S-ON.
Now I have the "evita" with Android version 4.3.1, CM 10.2.1, kernel 3.4.72 and baseband version 0.24p.32.09.06_10.130.32.34L. In this phone, the card is not even recognized. I can put it in there however I want and it will not even ask for the PIN, a unlock code or anything - it just shows the small SIM card icon on the top bar with a question mark in it.
This phone is bootloader unlocked, S-OFF, CID-11111111 and Hboot 2.14.0000. The baseband version shown in the bootloader is the same but is cut off at the underscore. The evita is (vendor told me) unlocked. It is an AT&T phone I bought from USA and got it shipped to EU (germany). I use CWM 6.0.4.6 on this one.
These are all information I thought important, can anyone help me out and tell me why my sim isn't being recognized at all in my second phone but works perfectly in my first? Could it be a hardware issue and not even related to the data I posted? My carrier is btw eplus.
Thanks in advance,
NyphoX
//EDIT: Also, the sim card I use is a normal sim that I cut to the size of a micro-sim. Does that matter? I know that some apps don't work with that sim because they require the micro-version but can that really be the mistake?
Have you tried any other SIM cards in the device to rule out the card as the problem? From what you're saying it looks like it's hardware related, try sticking a layer or two of tape to the back side of the SIM card.
Sent from my Evita
I will get another sim card in a few hours, will try it then.
Try the tape in the meantime.
Sent from my Evita
Give me some minutes until stores open, sorry. :/
Be blessed for helping me again. Just one layer of tape worked... I demand a norm for sim card trays. ^^
It's a relatively common problem with this model.
