Nexus 4 charger - Nexus 4 Accessories

I broke one pin from my mains charger. Where could I get a replacement? It broke away quite easily too.

Ring LG, they sent me a new one FOC when mine started ticking.

You can get a replacement micro usb cable from anywhere for any prices. you can even get them for 99p on ebay!!!

Maybe you could explain a bit more
wow did you pay $22 ?

Its available at other online stores for a fourth of that (or less), even ebay.
I can't really use it if I want it to be charging. It pulls it and some part of it doesn't touch when I'm using it so I have hold it in place

And it only charges as USB power instead of AC like the Verizon one.

Wall charger

The wall charger (micro usb cable and plug) is way too short to be useful to me. I bought a cheap one off ebay, and it barely fits. I'm afraid to use it because it's so hard to unplug once you get it in. Anybody have any good suggestions for a longer wall charger that actually fits.
What about trying a retractable female-to-male USB extension cable to run between the wall outlet adapter and the HTC USB cable? I believe most PC and cell phone accessory stores sell them for around $5 - $10 and will extend up to around 3 - 4 additional feet. Here's a link to one that's in stock at HTC Depot...

Yeah...I have one.
At least that way you aren't cramming something that doesn't fit into the phone and risking damaging the USB port.
i brought a couple of micro USB cables from meritline it took 2 weeks for them to come here. it cost me $4 including shipping for 2 cables. They ship then from HK. So far I am using this cable in my office and have not has any issue
I currently use a 5' male to female USB "extension cord"... Been using it for years and highly recommend the setup.
On another note, if someone were to trip over the cord, it has an extra breakaway point now... I believe it cost me $5 for two of them... Gave the other as a gift...

Could you post a link to the cord you got with the breakaway point? I would really like to get something like that, I have tripped over my cord wayy too many times, even ended up bending the micro-usb tips.

In the past I have bought longer usb cables and just had them shipped from Hong Koing as well. However, recently I just ran out to Walmart and paid $10 for a 4 foot usb cable and charger. Though you can get it for cheaper, I needed it right away.
I just ordered a standard Android USB cable and plug it into a USB extension cable. Works fine for me.
I use a blackberry 1.5mm data cable

The best place to buy cables, or get cables is a local hotel...
they may give to you if you are nice... but always offer half price...
they may take you in a lost and found room where you can pick what you like...
I use the usb from my car charger which is like 5 feet long just look for those they might be cheaper than the regular wall charger

Charger has a short cord

this is my first HTC device, so maybe this is standard... but with my 2 prior samsung devices, the usb cord that came with the charger was about twice as long as the one that came with my HTC One X. it seems like it is unreasonably short. i'm going to have to get an extension cord to plug it into the wall and let the phone sit on my nightstand while charging!

You can always use your old usb cords they will work

Like the person above me said, use the old one you have. Problem solved.
All phone companies are going this way. A penny saved is a penny earned. lol. I guess we have Apple to thank for this one. Their sync cables have always been short. Only takes one, and the rest will follow.

yeah i'm sure the old one will work. but i want to sell my ATT GSII, and to get the most money for it i'll have to sell the charger with it. really don't want to go out and buy another usb cord... so i'll just go with the extension cord in the outlet. it is disappointing though.
mine is the same length as my samsung usb...
nevermind

mine is a good 6 inches shorter, at least. which samsung? i've had an infuse and a SGSII (both AT&T) over the past 9 months, and those have long usb cords.
Search eBay for "samsung OEM micro USB cable". I bought a whole bunch of them a while back; about $1.99 each with free shipping. Also, you can get the Samsung wall chargers, which have a lengthy cord as well. Search for "Samsung OEM wall charger", when I bought them they were around $3.00

Does the dock come with a charger

I been asking around with out any results. I just wanted to know it the dock comes with its own charging cable if you buy it separate. It would be nice to have another charger to put near my lounge chair. And if not does anyone know where to get a spare charger.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
ebay?
(I had it bundled, but I doubt there's a separate charger)
When I bought mine for the prime it didn't come with a charging cable.
Office Depot sells the original charger. They normally have them in stock at stores as I got one there.
Thanks guys. Wow another $40 for a charger dam lol. Might as well get an original.

30-pin connectors vs microUSB

Are 30-pin connectors more durable than microUSB?
I doubt it. Wireless charging and data transfer are the best solutions in that regard when it comes to hardware wear and tear.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
I haven't frequently used a30- pin, but my Kindle Fire charger (got it a month after release) plus my phone charger (waaay older than my KF) are still fine while my brother's 30 pin connector is falling apart. I'd day micro USB cords ate more durable.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using xda app-developers app
Every 30 pin connector I've had has broken, while I've only broken one micro usb so I think that speaks for itself.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk 2
I really haven't had any issues with either myself. Though the 40 pin connector for my Tf101 tablet does look a lot worse for wear than my usb phone charger.
