Brief review:
This is my first hand experience with this device. The device has a 1.15 ghz dual core novathor processor coupled by a mali400 gpu. While the device isnt intended to match other high end devices in terms of performance, it still performs quite good in daily life. Handles the heavy sense 4+ ui with ease which is quite an achievement for a mid range phone. I tried a couple of hd games like dead trigger 2 & asphalt 8. All went pretty well. All the casual games that i tried performed excellent. The 8 mp camera is quite a performer too. The design is just awesome and the device feels quite elegant in the hand. The best part of the device is its super lcd 2 display. I have used a couple of devices like galaxy note and xperia sp in the past and the display of this device just blows them. The colors are really nice and vivid. Though the resolution is not 720p, the pixel density is high enough to make it a fairly sharp display.

OP updated with a brief review. I know that feel brother, I myself have been waiting for moto g for almost a month. I contacted motorola support and the exec online reveaped that they have shifted the indian release of the device to feb end. I am not sure if thats really the case but that's what i was told. Therefore, waiting no further , I went ahead and started my search for a decent device. I saw this in a showroom and fell in love with this phone. Been using it for last 3 days and so far no probs. Its upto you if you want to wait for moto g or invest your money in this one. Each device has its own pros and cons.
Good luck!

2. how is the music quality with earphones on...i m a music freak ...only reason for opting HTC ...
3. MOST IMP...I went to buy this phone today ...the very first shop that i entered did not have it in stock ...the girl there was an HTC executive wearing an HTC t-shirt ....she told me that htc is not sending in any stock coz the first lot was defective....all sets have an issue like : when we enter a sim card and upon receiving a call there is no sound ...the call goes blank ...and she also told that there is some problem with music... she said to wait till feb when the stock comes again ...i have a feeling that she is lying coz she did not have it in stock..and such that i dont buy it from somewhere else...still i want to know if any such problems exist ....?? i am getting this phone in the open market for around 15.7k

Bro, the battery life is pretty standard for an android phone. I am a heavy music listener and game occasionally and still the battery easily pulls through the day.
With earphones on, the music is awesome and super loud, super awesome and super clear. Thanks to beats audio.
I am not sure if whatever the girl said to you was true because I dis not have any such problems. The call quality was great. No problem with music too. Tested both ways-with speaker and with ear phones. So far, i havent experienced a single problem with this device.
And ya, i will post the benchmarks later in the day.
Hope that helped.

Trex onscreen: 5fps
Egypt onscreen: 14fps
basically this low end device gives you the exact onscreen performance as the One X and SGS3 on dual core A9 instead of quad
not bad at all defintly better than the piss poor Adreno 203 on both the Desire 500 and 600' Snapdragon 200
you can now understand why HTC went pissed with Qualcom in the mid range and substituted them with Asian or alternative SoCs
Mali400 + 2x A9 versus Adreno203 + 4x A5 = a very easy win!
I am glad HTC is finally valuing Graphics performance and actual core IPC performance instead of multicore BS
good benchmark scores...i am sure it will manage most games....

No call problems what so ever. Perhaps, what the sales girl told you was correct and the new 'fixed' stock is in market already. I am saying this because flipkart is known to be selling the old stock of electronics. I bought xperia sp from flipkart months after its release in india. Earlier batches of that device were known to have a touchscreen issue which was fixed in newer batches. I bought from flipkart thinking that I needn't worry about that defect because i am buying far after the release of the handset and thus the device that i will receive will be from the newer batch. To my horror, the device that i received had the exact same defect as the one in earlier batches. So yea, i would recommend you not to buy this one from fk and go for some local dealer instead. I got mine for 15,500 inr.

Im goin crazy for this phone n im surely gonna buy this one. But stocks are not available yet... My bad...
I had few queries about this phone..
1. Is there any bug or any problem with the device?
2.Does it has the usb host mode to connect to usb devices?
3.How is the beats audio enhancement? (Never xperienced beats audio)
4.How long does it take to fully charge from zero to 100%? (Im using htc explorer from one year n 10 months and now it takes 4-5 hours to fully charge)
5. Are they providing any sd card with it? (htc explorer came with a 2gb card although it has only 150 mb memory )

Help needed!!!! I am really confused what to do , whether to buy a nexus s now or wait for dual -core phones .I just dont want to buy something for 20k that might be outdated soon.
Nexus s will pretty much run anything out right now.. Don't play the waiting game, get it if the price is right? It's technology.. Every few months there is newer and more expensive **** out
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
If you want to play the waiting game, wait for the next Nexus. I wouldn't ever buy or recommend a non-Nexus Android.

I love my Nexus. If you wait then you will still be seeing something else better come out in a few months. If you like the Nexus, then get it. If not then just wait it out.

Ya...thats what.Even i dont want to wait because my budget was around 18k, i stretched it to 20k(current price of nexus s in inr)...the budget is so strict that i cant even stretch it to buy sgs i9000(which i dont feel is worth buying when compared to nexus s)...and my requirement is that heavy (gameloft-ish)games should work smoothly ...which i think nexus s with its 1ghz humming bird procc & PowerVR SGX 540 would handle quite well atleast for an year or so ..and plus there is a chance that nexus s will be getting ICS ...so i think i should just buy it now ...and 20k for nexus s is a steal i think !
The nexus s is an awesome phone for the price now (320 € in Germany). I wouldn't spend almost twice as much for a double core.
Btw, I'm not sure where you're from but in the states when you say 20k that k stands for thousands. So $20,000 is a bit much for the Nexus S. I only paid $200 for mine

Gaming? Nexus S is never your wrong choice. Haha.
You can use Chainfire 3D on Nexus S to play Tegra 2 games,
you can overclock your phone using Trinity 1.576 kernel to maximize your game experience.
What more do you want when the 1.576 kernel give a same quadrant score (or even higher) than duo core phone such as Optimus 2x ang SGSII??
In conclusion, get me to help you when you got your nexus, I will give you all the necessary file/kernel/rom/apps for maximum gaming experience
I am a gamer (only when holiday,LOL) with 24 hours charging my phone
after personally trying both optimus 2x and atrix for more than 2 weeks each. " brother has atrix and i got optimus 2x from my friend to use it since he doesnt want it " got galaxy s2", i would go for nexus S
the reason is simple. this is all marketing bs. there is nothing that can run on galaxy s2 or atrix or optimus 2x that cant run on nexus S . everything runs perfectly fine on nexus S. no lag. perfectly fine.
the only thing that wont run are the nvidia games. but as far as i know. they are all been ported to other phones.
however. what broke it up was skype. to know that skype was released for video chat only on 4 phones and nexus is one of them. made me note something. i have to get that phone. not because of skype. but because clearly. its a dev platform. when skype tested their video call. they tested it on nexus. even with the mods. skype till now cant run video calls on optimus 2x and tegra. do to the fact tegra cant read some codes. i think mods are looking into it but i dont have high hopes at all. because this is not the first time dev get stuck on something like that. " same code "
if you are talking about dual core phones as galaxy s2. then this is another story.
GS2 is superior phone. there is no doubt about it. better and bigger screen. thinner, faster. but u will also get stuck with 2 things
- google updates... u wont get any till samsung give their blessing
- some problems running some games " again. some issue with reading codes. while this is being sported out by devs here, its still not perfect. "

where i can download chainfire 3d ?
also. i dont advise overclocking your phone. it shorten the lfie of your cpu/gpu.
i would definitely choose the Nexus S .. its a powerful beast ..
1, 1ghz processor is enough for everything
2, gpu 540 - can handle all the games - much stronger than the most used adreno 200 or 205
3, updates directly from google! - how fast your phone is depends also on the OS ..
4,you get comparable scores when you tweak your phone vs dualcores -sometimes even more
5,the chipset used in Nexus S has one of the best audio chips used in a device - regarding that Voodoo Sound - it seriously killed my ipod, my Hi-Fi at home .. i just use that ..
6, you want more? you can play 720p MKV on this hardware - you cant do that on most dualcore - coz they miss the hq mkv profile - diceplayer
7,skype video calls? here we go
8, NFC - the future is already there
u know google decided to make "the phone" and when they do one .. they mostly put all the best stuff into it from that "time frame" ..

I agree.
NVIDIA Tegra2 dual core : Video decoder is too bad...Hard to play H.264 High profile.
Snapdragon dual core : Video is not so good but can play 720p MKV using diceplayer.
Exynos dual core : GREAT Video decoder. it can play 1080p High profile.
if you have HDMI-out cable, your phone turn into video player.
Big Lots had this tablet on sale this week for $80. It has crappy resolution(800x480) but does have 1gb of ram and Android 4.0.4 so I would give it a try. Out of the box it didn't support tablet optimized apps or setting so i had to add a line to the build.prop to fix it. Then I just did the usual things ot add the Play store and Gapps. I have the files and instructions if you pick this tablet up and want to get yourself going quickly.

My mom asked me about this tablet, After researching I told her this would be a pretty decent tablet for kids. So she picked up a few of these for my nephews for X-mas gift so they will stop fighting for/over hers. This will be excellent to get play, change res & gapps. Thanks for this. I'll post back with results.
i purchased one of these at biglots today and it allready quit working. i didnt try to root it or install playstore. the appstore that came with it was buggy for me and the thing crashed the first time i used the browser. i had to use the reset buton and now it wont boot past android guy so going back tomorrow.
baught another one today. there was a hissing from the speaker. turned it off and it would not turn back on. didn't even leave the parking lot with this one. has anyone else had bad luck with these. should i try again if they get more in
What are the pros and cons of switching the default resolution (big) to a smaller setting?
bought mine a week ago
I just bought mine a week ago, and it is a very nice tablet not for it's price, just a nice tablet. plues are
-wifi, it works very well good range.
-fast enough processor 1.2 ghz plays temple run no hicups, I have'nt had anything acting funny or anything like that.
-muti touch works great 5 points of touch
-USB port, it comes with a mini USB, but has connecction that makes it a full USB port. so far I only tried a keyboard and it worked perfectly ( thats what I am typing this with
-front facing web cam. it works though
-micro sd
3-4 gigs of storage. it saids 4 gigs but I only see 3
negatives
- it did'nt come with play store. I had to install it myself by hooking it up to the computer and getting some script and connecting tablet through ABS or something like that. I'm no expert it took me about 30 min. to do.
-no bluetooth
-no gps
-no fifty core processor
-no camera on the back ( its a tablet it should'nt have one)
all in all I got this tablet for $71 at big lots on sale, and it is normally $80. If you just want a good tablet that will go on the internet, play most games and apps ( netflix, flash, templerun) then you won't be diapointed, if you want a $200 dollar tablet buy a nexus 7
D2 hardware change?
Hello everyone,
Yesterday I picked two D2 Pads on BigLots but I just want to inform that it has been a hardware specification change (downgrade).
Please take a look at the photos I included, but basically the D2 has been downgraded to:
512 MB RAM
1 Ghz CPU
LCD Screen with bad viewing angles!
Also the hardware buttons have been moved from the top to the right side of the tablet, so this clearly indicates it's different hardware.
It's no longer as smooth as the original D2 Pad, but all in all, it's good for kids and the casual web surfer/social network user I guess.
Cheers!
Rayan

So, I saw there was the 1gb ddr3 model and picked one up for myself.

Hi!
I own a ZTE U950 and I updated to the latest FW, but no matter what game I play, it has small stutterings every 3-4 sec. I tried a lot of games, even Dead Space that should run like butter, but even that has stuttering every 3-4 sec. The FPS is on the roof, but for reasons unknown it still noticeably stutter every 3-4 sec.
I tried everything...installing previous rom, closing all background applications, disabling auto-rotate, disabling wifi, changing powersave settings, but nothing worked.
It is really annoying that I can not get rid of this micro stuttering. Game running like butter, but picture stops for micro of a second every 3-4 sec.
What is the problem? Is it just that ICS is trash? A phone with Tegra 3 quadcore should not have stutterings like these...I get ~13200 points in Antutu. The ICS version is 4.0.4.
Oo...I'm considering this phone can give some real shot of the u950 n some screenshot to me..how bout battery life?

Not counting the problem I have, this phone is awesome, well worth the price.
However there is 1 more big problem: no "good" custom roms yet...there are some Chinese custom roms, but they don't really improve performance (I tried at least 6). With a good custom rom and a "gaming kernel" (like the One X has that unlocks the CPU and GPU to it's max potential) this phone would be a must buy.

Nobody has any idea about my problem ?

People reported that it will restart by itself
so it's true?
Got it today ,you must root it and update the rom in order to get rid of some bloatware.secondly there are chinese roms but based on the original so no real tweaking .if a cyanogen was running in this phone was going to be perfect but as i searched on chinese forum most have the basic knoweledge nothing more to build a kernel with mods or aosp .the phone is acceptable for daily usage for its price range.
as for the stutterring on random restart on games consider using the app released for htc one x to minimalise game settings so they can run perfect.i must also remind that the games were not designed for this resolution as most tegra 3 devices have better resolution.

anyone already changed recovery language to english ? Or localized Rom file without chinese programms?
no unfortunate no dev has this device yet ,hope at least for a stable recovery and rom
Allright people, time to get this baby, a shop has it on sale for $170 (with free world wide shipping): ZTE U950 $170 Can't beat a price like that for a Tegra 3 device. Hope a dev will pick it up, this thing really needs some home made roms.
lower price
There is another choice for only 155$ at this exact site. :good:

I will get mine next week as of now searching to find the cheapest deal Meanwhile request here for a forum if you haven't already - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660354&page=842
Hope so ROM will improve the display and battery life, I will pick mine up probably this week
^depends on popularity, as of now L doesn't have much of a competition in its price range (apart from l9 with inferior specs) so its more or less bound to get some decent activity here and if that happens we'll easily attract devs
Any one bought it yet? It was selling for 16k in hs18 2 days back
I have using mine for a week and I love it. I moved from an Xperia Neo to this phone, they aren't coparable. I can hardly wait for rooting.
Future Xperia L User
In a few hours from now, i will be holding on to my Xperia L bought from Malaysia!
Woohoo!! can't wait to feel it and experience the positive reviews of it!
Well, downside do exist, but to those people who say that this phone is a crap, hold it right there and keep it to yourself.. haha!!
Let's make it popular!

The display is good. I had S2 and hated over-saturated colors and the tint, O.O Battery life is good, too. There's a slight problem with the bloatware draining battery uselessly and the famous media scanner bug in 4.1.x
It's a good phone in this range, probably the best. Although Camera is a little too horrible.

I am thinkin of buying this one in a 2 weeks my budget is rs.20000(approx 350usd)
or sp if i could raise my budget a bit
i wanted to knw the gaming performance of this device and is it better than s2 except for super amoled display?
I'm making an autoroot kernel for XL which will also help you in getting a separate forum as well. I may also work on a custom kernel to remove capped 1 GHz frequency.
Can anyone send me stock kernel.sin?

I will help you to get ftf firmware file. So if you break anything with rooting or somehow you can always go back to what your phone came when you bought it. A complete noob can do it.
You only need to reflash your phones firmware with SMUS and upload few files to web.
You don't void warranty and you do not need root.
It'll help you to get forums maybe
Interested PM me, it will cost you nothing I promise.

it is not a very good idea to work blindly for a device (especially kernels)
to be specific I would like to say
1. do not work blindly on a device if you do not own at least a similar device (similar or same SoC and vendor, like all the 2011 Xperias)
2. even if working on a device is not a problem, releasing it to a place like XDA makes it a tad dangerous for the users.
Hello,
HTC introduced the One ME dual-SIM with Helio X10 chipset and support for Indian 4G LTE networks. This handset was unveiled in China earlier this month and will be sold in Classic Rose Gold and Meteor Grey color options in India.
The One ME is HTC’s second WQHD smartphone with fingerprint sensor after the One M9+ to enter the Indian market. Styled like the rest of the One product family, the device has a polycarbonate body.
Specs-wise, the device packs the latest 64-bit MediaTek Helio X10 MT6795T mobile chipset with 2.2GHz octa-core CPU and 3GB of RAM. A 5.2” QHD display, 32GB of expandable memory, and 20MP main camera are also on board. HTC One ME boots Sense-d Android Lollipop.
The dual-SIM handset supports Indian 4G LTE network bands - 1800Mhz (Band 3) and 2600 MHz (Band 40) to deliver fast mobile web speeds, but only in select regions. Other connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.1 with apt-X, and GPS with A-GPS/GLONASS/Beidou support.
HTC One ME dual-SIM is priced for India at INR 40,500 ( about $640). The device will be available from this weekend onwards.

anybody ?:crying::crying:
I've read some reviews about it as I'm so interested in dual sim flagship phones. Since this phone has high specs with a very reasonable price as it's now available now for $550-$600; it really got my attention.
Most of the people say that it heats up and drains battery faster. It also lags sometimes with multitasking and heavy gaming. Other than that it's working fine. I really like the specs and the design but disappointed that it lacks wireless charging and also doesn't give the chance to add a wireless charging receiver as it has a fixed back battery cover.
Anyone owning the device could give us a real feedback about it!
First of all thanks OP for this thread for Htc One Me ... i am tired searching thread and forum for this devive in XDA
ITS REALLY VALUE FOR MONEY FULLY FEATURE PACKED FLAGSHIP DEVICE (but somehow its being ignored)
Just check it, You will love it
My thought about this device is:
This is currently best value for mony flagship device. It has everything (and more) that current flagship device should have....and price is comparabily very low price. Last day I went to magnet mall in vileparle west mumbai and checked this device... around 20 min from design to sound to FP sensor to dual sim...its awesome device. The couler i used was gold...and device look awedome golden. Here are some major features packed in this phone, these are checked by me and confirmed specs.
* Nice back camera with 4k recording and front 4up
* Latest 64 bit MTK helio 10 processor
* Dual sim dual stanndby
* Touch fingerprint * homekey
* Fm radio
* IR blaster
* 32 gb memory plus 3 gb ram
* Sense 7 and Android 5.0.2
* Dolby dual BoomSound speaker
* 5.2 inch 2k Res screen.
* Price Only: 37000 INR (at Alfa Mumbai)
* Other features are same as other Htc flagship devices.
BUT UNFORTUNATELY, even after so good device and already availability there is NO FORUM FOR THIS DEVICE IN XDA. I already requested forum for this device via 'New Device Forum request' (here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=62090540 ) thread. And hope soon it will get its own forum.

But there are some things which could not be performed at hand on.
So please provide some details about below points.
1. How is Battery Life (Its 2840 mah and is it enough for 5.2 + 2k screen)
2. Performance (MTK helio10 is really capable handling graphic loaded games and apps)
3. Is there Heating Issue? (I heard somewhere about this.....???!!!)

1. Battery life gets him through a day. It really depends on your usage.
2. Processor is damn good, no performance issues. Gaming isn't that great though due to a sucky GPU, highly extensive games will see frame drops.
3. Every smartphone heats when used for long hours without resting. Nothing uncommon. No "heating issue" or "overheating".

Just received the device yesterday, I bought it from eBay. I'm really impressed with the design. The grey one gives you a metal build feel. Sense 7 is great. There is FM and USB host option if there is anyone wondering. I didn't assess battery life yet, not before one week. I noticed that the boom sound is less in intensity compared to m8. There is some heating up but not exaggerated as people complain about, maybe coz I didn't overload it seriously but with normal use it's OK. I still didn't check the mhl adaptor. Overall it should be considered as a flagship phone but with a very reasonable price.
