Helllo there, I have a curious problem with my Nexus 5. My wife bought it as a Christmas gift over Thanksgiving week. However, the phone was not activated until Christmas. When I activated the phone it had kitkat 4.4 and automatically upgraded to 4.4.2. I have been noticing some lagging with the camera focus. My question is Did I miss the 4.4.1 upgrade which was supposed to fix the camera issue? Or does 4.4.2 fixes the issue and this is as good as it gets? Thanks for the input.
Every update includes previous updates. You can't miss changes by skipping a version. You can try factory resetting it. I like to do that after every update anyways.

That's not a problem at all. Google does staged roll outs for android. That means that not all devices get the update at the same time. In case of 4.4.1 it seems that google realized that they messed something up, stopped the rollout of 4.4.1 and immediately pushed 4.4.2 as a hotfix release. So it is completely normal that you just got the 4.4.2 update. You didn't miss any features.

I updated a week or so ago per the OTA sent out. I have since had problems with all of my bluetooth headsets cutting out and then completely not working during phone calls. My phone is basically useless when connected to my car's bluetooth. I have reset my phone back to factory twice with the hopes that would solve my problem. Is there a fix for this problem or should I just have Verizon send me a new phone under warranty?
Thanks in advance!

There have been some known issues with bluetooth and 4.4 which Moto will hopefully fix in the 4.4.3 update soon. Might want to wait for that instead.

Any idea of how long of a wait that will be? I'm not sure I'm patient enough to go weeks waiting on them to put out an update.
Thanks for your response!

It's probably going to be a few weeks- hopefully, say, mid-July. That's what I would bet on. David Schuster of Motorola announced a few weeks ago that the Droids would get 4.4.3. He previously announced that it takes 4-8 weeks to go through carrier testing and approval. An I suspect that Motorola will push the 4.4.3 update to all of the Moto X models in the US first, and so far only unlocked Moto X phones have 4.4.3.
Hello guys i have received about a week ago the OTA update for Android 5.1. As much i did like to see this update fixing issues for my Nexus 5 do i still have a bug/glitch. I am not 100% sure if this is the exact same bug as in Android 5.0 (ram leak). Last night i was using my phone as a normal day but then it all happens again.. I reseted the phone early the morning because i had high ram usage which shouldn't be a problem as long everything works fine. Although i am driving crazy with the problems i have to deal with. I decided to make a video from what happens on my phone so people will have an idea what i am talking about. I will share the video from youtube i recently uploaded in the hope people may help me with. I am running official android 5.1 that came with the OTA update. This is a locked non rooted Nexus 5.
Thank you very much for taking your time and i really appreciate it.
P.s English is not my major language( I have spoken in the video). Even you turn off the sounds you will understand what is going on.

Hi,
Did upgrade to 5.1, started having the usual issues as WiFi not connecting, cellular network issues. Sent the the phone to LG, they replaced it with a new PCB/motherboard. Came back with 5.0.1. Now, the 5.1 is available to upgrade. Should I or stay with 5.0.1?
Every time the phone goes for service, I stuck with an iPhone or blackberry. I hate both devices.

I don't see why shouldn't you, upgrading your Android won't destroy your devices motherboard, it makes your software better and more secure.

You must. In the name of science. So we all, that get those issues, know where the problem is.
Definitely upgrade. 5.1 addresses numerous issues, including a memory leak that was pretty bad, it doesn't completely fix then leak, but it does help. 5.1 runs substantially more stable, and it's also been show to dramatically increase battery duration on mobiles.
But a lot of us have remained with kitkat because of the many reported problems with lollipop. Have these problems been fixed now? Is lollipop better than kitkat? How?
Do xprivacy and gravitybox now work in Lollipop?
Thanks.
Hi guys,
Ever since I updated to Lollipop especially after the recent update to 5.1.1, everything is screwed up.
The google camera doesn't work so I had to uninstall it to atleast get the phone's camera working. Flashlight turns off after a while.
I'm not receiving calls as those who call get the message that my phone is switched off even though my phone is in my hands SWITCHED ON.
What the hell should I do? Its pissing me off.
I just updated to LMY48B and the camera is laggy as hell -- pretty much unusable. I don;t know what to tell you except maybe try another camera app? I'm still looking for something myself. I use my camera constantly and this has made it worthless. Almost cause for rolling back to KitKat.
Those are uncommon issues. I suggest you to start from scratch by flashing the factory images.
Camera MX is a nice alternative app.

My install was a clean factory image. No idea what the issue is.

Hello. I just received a new OTA, dav-703lc233b212_b229. I thought the b212 was the last one. Anybody else?
Received it this morning, haven't installed it yet.
anyone dares/wants to try out? /p8max
Last update f-uped my phone..
Seems to work
The last update broke all Google apps. Nonetheless I gave this one a go this morning. So far so good, android 6 with Dec 2018 update. An update that worked was long overdue!
Not noticed any differences yet, nothing appears to be broken
cool :good::highfive:
but whats better now? its not an android version upgrade,,just UI fixes? How could the phone go up on android os version?
Thanks!
Ditto.
Received, did not install, maybe never will, based on the last negative experience mentioned above/below.
but still interested if anyone installs it

Is the update still OK? It is nagging me to install but I don't want to degrade the phone like last time.
