Hey guys and gals. Today I've decided to start up on developing for the Evo Shift 4g. I am sorta new to a lot of stuff but I am experienced in the field. I don't have a computer that I dedicate to my developing at the moment so don't expect everything to be quick. I will be making themes and looking for root methods on this device for people without a PC (mainly cause all i can get my hands on is a chromebook). I will be making a thread over in the themes and apps section for my skins/themes. If you have any questions or requests or anyway to help me root and unlock my phone just post it in this thread or pm me.

Bonsai master key is a great way to root your phone. MOD EDIT: Link gone I think. Its free just register like you did at xda. Now xda needs to allow this link or start listening to themselves and stop requiring people to register here to see links to things. Or is xda afraid of free enterprise? Alot of developers now left to start own sites like rob and kano

My phone app on the lockscreen disappeared earlier today and I went in to put it back but it wasn't listed in the options of apps you can choose from for the lockscreen. Any idea how I can get the phone app back on my lockscreen? Thanks in advance!
I'm having the same problem. What I found in Google was same issue happened with the evo 3d and they pushed out another OTA update to fix it.
I guess we have to wait for it

It has been released, a fully functional ICS ROM with practically nothing to give up. Its only compatible for the i9100...how long does a working port usually take to transfer to a sister phone?
Our phone is only similar in name. It will not be ported from an i9000 source. Our hardware is completely different.
It will take ground up coding, which a few have started but not finished. O would love to be wrong and someone find something useful in that build but I doubt it

I'd love to follow whoever is working on a 4.0.x AOSP port or whatever. Is there a place I can follow these efforts? I appreciate that they're going to take a lot more time and effort than, say, going from 2.2 to 2.3, but I'd like to keep tabs on their progress.

Any updates on this? I installed the APK and after several attempts managed to get it running. The thought of having Portal on the go is very exciting...I just hope the project isn't abandoned.

My girlfriend just got a LG thrill 4g and I've been trying to root it for her and have had no luck. I've used various methods and software to do this all with no luck in rooting the device. Can someone offer any help on this? I cannot seem to understand what's going on with it.

I've finally rooted the darn phone using super one click but now I'm having all kinds of trouble finding a new rom where I don't have to change basebands and still have 3d capabilities. All the links I go to takes me to some bogus ilivid downloader link or is broken. Been really wanting the thriller or thrill seeker roms....even the doomed froyo one but still no luck.
