Hello. If you think this thread is pointless, go ahead and delete it.
Just thought I'd make one and let you guys know that some stock firmware for the Galaxy Tab 3 8,0 is on the following website, and it took me a long time to find it so hopefully I'll save some people the hassle. Especially the BTU version of the stock firmware. I already have another thread asking for help on flashing the files (which I still don't know how to do) so I didn't know whether the post a new thread.

hey guys, i tried searching the forums but ended up having to post this question. is "GT-P3113_XAR_1_20120412104938_ldcgx9tzmx.zip" (found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1645295) the same as "IML74K-P3113UEALCB-stock.zip" (dead link found here: http://goo.im/devs/jcase/IML74K-P3113UEALCB-stock.zip)?
just curious if they are the same because i will be reverting my galaxy tab 2 7.0 back to stock rom to send it in for repairs.
just thought i'd ask here since xda developers are the best in the biz right now.
thanks in advance.
The thing is you need to be sure it matchs your region you bought it from.
Check samsung-updates.com, they have the latest in different areas directly from the samsung kies servers.
Hope this helps

just bought the galaxy tab 2 7.0 from Costco. I think I need the one from goo apps but link has been disabled. Wish "jcase" could reupload it.
**UPDATE**: the model # on my original box says "GT-P3113TSSXAR". SW-VER is "UEALD3". so yes, i do need the version that jcase had uploaded. damn.
After 4 months of stalking this forum, I finally bought a note 10.1 to use as my phone... weird I know. Hopefully it arrives today. Anyway, I have a question on flashing the stock 4.1.2 n8000 germany rom on to my n8000. Can I just flash it if I am from another region? Is there anything I need to do before I flash? I keep on seeing threads about changing CSCs and some of them seem to be due to flashing on a different model instead. I would also like to ask if the 4.1.2 is still Exynos vulnerable (Easily rootable).
You need to use ODIN to flash, make sure you have a nandroid copy of your stock rom....
exynosexploit.apk will still give you root access. There is a camera patch on the s3 forum for after using the exynos patch to secure the exploit made by chainfire (buy this man a beer) but I haven't tested this on the note 10.1 as yet.
Best idea would be to root, do nandroid backup then flash JB4.1.2...
Cheers...
Oh, and get yourself the BT stylus if its going to be a phone replacement... Makes life easier and you don't have to be wearing a BT headset all the time...
I'm now using Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 with android 4.1.2. Recnetly, I want to flash the S5 roms posted by other developers. However, those roms are in android 4.3 or 4.4.2. Can I directly flash it or do I need to upgrade my device to android 4.3 first?
thanks so much!
You can't flash a s5 ROM onto your s3, it will brick.

ok, i looked into the s3 forum and i see the s5 rom there.
this is either a rare instance where another phones rom is compatible or more likely what is known as a "port". it wasnt obvious right off what was the case.
either way, sorry for the confusion, it would be ok to flash that as long as its says its compatible with your phone.
generally speaking, you cant just grab a rom for any phone and flash it to another. that would result in a brick, and i jumped to conclusions and thought that was what you were trying to do.
as far as, if you need to upgrade first, im not sure about that.
some roms require you to be on a specific version first, otherwise it will bootloop after you flash the rom.
reason being, roms dont usually replace all parts of the software, but are built off or made to work with certain versions specifically because the use some of those non replaced parts to work correctly.
i would read through a few pages of the rom post. most likely someone has asked if it will work on whatever version or stated what version you need to be on for it to work.
if you cant find any answer, then i would ask the question there.
sorry i cant be of more help.
one bit of advice that i always follow myself, read into flashing back to stock and download all needed files and tools first. this way, if you have any issues, or just dont like the rom, you already have a backup plan in place to get your phone working again like you want it.
just my 2c hope that helps.
My rooted phone will not let me into my playstore, i think this could be do to rooting and then doing the android update, or maybe the freedom app i downloaded at one time. It also says I lost root. Anyways I was stupid and thought I new what I was doing and think I may have really screwed up my phone. Will flashing stock firmware fix this? think i have looked through the threads already and I think I have a good handle on this whole flashing stock firmware. My question is if I give you guys my build number/ phone info can you tell me what exact firmware I need to revert to stock? Build# VRUFNK4 for a SCHi545 samsung galaxy S4 G. Let me know please. Thanks!

The best way to flash back to stock is using Heimdall one-click. Complete instructions are available at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1470716
Hi,
I apologize if this is the wrong forum, but I will start here and see where it leads me. Not sure what type of processor the USA phones have.
I am currently using an SM-G930V Galaxy S7 phone originally bought from Verizon, but now used on MetroPCS. (USA)
Since MetroPCS uses T-Mobiles network, I wanted to flash my phone over to t-mobile, so I can get band 12, etc. and get better utilization / reception from the phone.
My concern is that I have never done this process before, and do not want to brick my phone.
I do have my current configuration backed up, using smart switch on my laptop.
Has anybody developed a guide, or instructions?
How difficult, or simply is the process?
How safe / risky is doing it?
Can I actually ruin my phone trying to do this?
Which software version do I use? the U version, or the T version?
Thanks in advance for any help / suggestions you may have to offer
Mark M
Yes a lot of people have made multiple tutorials for this, and they are all over this forum if you read some threads
If you don't like that answer, imagine how annoying it is for long term members here to have to keep typing out the exact same instructions every day to new members who don't read anything
heres a link for the U firmware QD2 update just download that and odin and use odin to update your phone. Its perfectly safe to use the U firmware on all US variants. Any questions don`t be scared to ask.

Asking questions is fine if they are questions that are not easy to know / find the answers to, or you're having a problem
It's a joke when you come to XDA and make a new thread asking how to flash your phone, that info is literally all over this forum, it just shows laziness
