Full IMMERSIVE mode - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've looked through several rom threads (not all) and I haven't found what I'm looking for. The search doesn't help much either.
Is there any other rom besides Cataclysm Rom, that has full IMMERSIVE mode. It's the only Rom I've used since I got the N5, so I figured I'd ask before flashing like a mad man.
I know that IMMERSIVE mode is a stock feature, but only in some apps, not system wide like what Cataclysm does.
If the Rom has the IMMERSIVE and Nav Bar toggles it would be great too. Thanks in advance.

I know Omni ROM has Full Immersive Mode (not sure about Nav Bar Toggles but I think it's there too, maybe just dig a bit in settings). It's accessible if you have the tile activated in quick toggles. CyanogenMod has it since older days, just called expanded desktop. Perhaps the CM based ROMs would have Full Immersive Mode in the form of Expanded Desktop.

@Actionx1- Xposed + GravityBox. You can set a quicksettings toggle to hide the navbar + PIE controls, or full immersive mode among other things. Also, there's a module called App Settings that will allow you to set immersive mode on a per app basis. Xposed has rendered custom ROMs pretty much obsolete, IMO.

I ended up going with SlimKat. It was the only rom out of 4 that I tried that had Expandable Mode and Disable Nav Bar. Thanks a lot for the help.

There is a module for xposed framework that allows for full immersive mode on all applications.

DPI of notification bar pulldown menu

Hi,
First off, sorry if this has been asked before...I did use the search function but no luck so far.
Got myself a 7" Galaxy Tab 2 today with Android 4.1.1. and im quite happy with it except for one little flaw.
The size / DPI of the notification bar pulldown menu isn't scaled correctly, both in portrait and landscape mode.

In landscape mode the quick setting toggles could all easily fit into one row, but instead I have to scroll horizontally...
Is there a way to fix this without rooting and flashing another ROM ?

Rooting is fairly simple though
So rooting the stock rom would enable me to fix it ?
I can find rooting instructions on my own but any hint how to fix the DPI of the pulldown menu ?

Sorry - when you say DPI - do you want to make the status bar wider - or just modufy the toggles so they fit inside it better?
Might've been poorly worded on my part - I'll try to explain with another picture:
I want the pulldown menu marked in this picture to stretch across the entire screen - both in portrait and landscape - it looks much worse in landscape mode(Tablet is at home so I can't make another screenshot for landscape).
It would look much better that way and all toggles should be visible.

i know what you mean, my rom does the exact same, using aokp M1. It doesn't bother me though. I'm pretty sure i used Paranoid Android and you can change the DPI of almost anything with that rom.

LMT + UDN (Ultimate Dynamic Navbar) -> my favorite mix.
Fullscreen most of the time, and a nice customisable navbar whenever you want it.

I am not sure if we can make them that transparent - even when the values set to 100% transparency it looks like 30% tinted =( At least i could not make it more transparent
I don't know if fully transparent is possible, not sure if it's values + resources that make the softs like that, but the icons sure yea

I'm using GMD auto hide soft keys and lmt launcher but what I hate is that my ram goes to about 90 mb available and that's with some apps greenified, I used GMD gesture control also but my phone freezes up with these "extras" applied.

I also use a lot of extra (tasker, launcher gestures, lighflow, lmt, udn, various widgets) without troubles. Check what app are the most memory hungry and greenify or replace them.
FYI I tested a few fullscreen/navbar replacement and UDN not only appeared to me to be the most practical, but it is also very well coded, using an average of 4,5 mo on my system :good:
Oh, and i forgot to add, I use InfiniRom by Arman.

[Q] Any way to hide Nav Bar only on certain situations?

Hey guys,
I'm under Cataclysm and really like Immersive mode but, it annoys me that I have to swipe up when I want to use the nav bar, but the worst thing is, I can't use swipe down gesture to show notifications on Nova because it just doesn't work with Immersive mode.
So, is there anything I can do in order to hide the nav bar only when I want to? Or, per example, make it hidden when I'm at the home screens?
TIA
Im not sure about that specifically but an alternative solution is to hide the navbar completely and use pie controls instead.
Takes some getting used to but I can't go back!

I believe the App Settings xposed module allows you to hide the navigation bar on a per app basis.

Hum, thanks... I guess I could try that and see how I'd get along using it. Could you, please, tell me what's the best way to get PIE?

Hmm, thing is, it would probably be an issue not to have a nav bar on all the launcher's menus.. Anyway, I'll think about that possibility.
Thank you!
I use pie via the xposed framework module called "gravitybox"

Sorry to bother you with this but, is there any other way? Because, I don't think that installing Gravity Box on an already feature packed custom ROM makes much sense and I'm afraid that it may cause incompatibilities.
Also, I installed App Settings module to force Immersive mode on Nova only but, while it does hide the nav bar, it doesn't go full screen so it is not an option, unfortunately.

Try LMT launcher for pie.
Ok, I followed Chromium_ suggestion and I'm trying LMT atm. Thank you, sir. I really like it since I loved PIE on ICS stock browser.
Now, problem is, I don't know how to hide de nav bar. I could use Immersive mode but that disables Nova gestures and it ends up showing the nav bar every time I mess with the status/notification bar. Any other way?

Your on cataclysm so you can set navbar size to zero or set up quick settings hide nav bar button

[GUIDE] Enable Themer on G2 Stock Based ROMs

For those interested in customizing your G2's here's a simple guide for installing Themer and combine it with LMT pie launcher to get a new look and feel on the phone. I did it on CloudyPro II so I don't know if will work on other ROMs but it should
The main ingredients you will need are:
Google Keyboard or any other keyboard you like.
Themer
Xposed Framework
G2 TweaksBox
LMT Pie Launcher
NexMusic or your preferred player supported by Themer.
After you have downloaded the listed apps the first one you have to install is the keyboard you chose and enable it as default. This is because you will need to disable the nav bar and after you do the LG keyboard will force close. Then as mentioned you have to disable the nav bar using G2 TweaksBox> Miscellaneous> check the "disable nav bar" box but don't reboot. Before you reboot make sure you installed LMT Pie Launcher and checked the first two boxes (Activate service and Autostart service) on the app's settings.
Then reboot your device and once you do you won't have the nav bar anymore but now you can use the LMT pie launcher to navigate through the phone. It can be launched by swiping from the left, right and bottom of the screen to the center. It can also be completely customized but I'll explain that later.
After you have disabled the nav bar, have enabled a keyboard and LMT pie is working you can install Themer as a normal app from the Play Store, choose a theme and apply it. Themer was recently updated to support LG's default Music app but they don't seem to get along that well yet. That's why I suggested to use NexMusic which has given me the best experience and works great from the lock screen too. You can select it from the Themer app and after you download it, it will be set as default.
So basically after you've installed everything your phone should look something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
You can also customize the LMT pie and make it look similar to this:
LMT pie comes with a standard 5 buttons layout that should be enough to help you get through the setup process but if you want to customize it a little more you can go to the last section of LMT's settings, PIE, and there configure it button by button as well as the long press or even add a second line of buttons. The new custom buttons you choose will appear one by one as you select them. For customizing the color you can use a menu on the first section and there you can also raise the top radius, bottom radius and outline as well as many other features.
To add a lock/shutdown function you have to enable a custom key and set it to 26. That's the one that I have on the far left.
I started using it a couple days ago and haven't had any problem so far. The biggest loss you might get from disabling the nav bar is that you loose the option of using multi-window but I'm pretty sure there's a work around for enabling it on LMT; just haven't figured that out yet
Battery life is not affected at all and I can say it improved a bit on this specific theme I'm using because of the dark BG and UI. I wanted to share this because I really liked the way the G2 looks with Themer and also to start a discussion and see what new things I can learn from any of the apps I used.
Credit goes to all the developers of each and every app I mentioned so give your thanks to them and support their projects in any way possible. No need to leave thanks here, ideas and helpful discussions would be more appreciated.
Cheers

How do you get rid of the Google search showing when swiping from the bottom? Pie control works from both left and right side but when I try it from the bottom, the search comes out.

That's weird, that shouldn't be happening
Only the buttons you enable on the PIE section should appear and on all three sides (bottom, right and left). If you keep having this problem try wiping the app's data from the app manager and start over configuring the pie.

What about the unlock ring on the lockscreen?? I have enabled the battery arc feature in gravitybox.. therefore the unlockring must show a battery arc but that's missing in Oneplus whereas it works well with Nexus 7.

I see the same issue.
But remember, Gravitybox isn't supposed to work on non-AOSP. It's not meant to work with CM or CM11S. I can report that it works pretty much everywhere in CM11 on my Nexus 5, but unfortunately it seems CM11S is a different beast.
Quick App and Aplication launcher?
I am also wondering if one can use GravityBox Quick Settings instead, but it seems not possible right now. What I want to have is the Quick App in Quick settings and the Application launcher.
Are there any alternative in CM 11s which have a similar function?

GravityBox quick settings doesn't work on CM based ROMs. There are custom ROMs available that probably have that feature if you look around.
