DPI of notification bar pulldown menu - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
First off, sorry if this has been asked before...I did use the search function but no luck so far.
Got myself a 7" Galaxy Tab 2 today with Android 4.1.1. and im quite happy with it except for one little flaw.
The size / DPI of the notification bar pulldown menu isn't scaled correctly, both in portrait and landscape mode.

In landscape mode the quick setting toggles could all easily fit into one row, but instead I have to scroll horizontally...
Is there a way to fix this without rooting and flashing another ROM ?

Rooting is fairly simple though

So rooting the stock rom would enable me to fix it ?
I can find rooting instructions on my own but any hint how to fix the DPI of the pulldown menu ?

Sorry - when you say DPI - do you want to make the status bar wider - or just modufy the toggles so they fit inside it better?

Might've been poorly worded on my part - I'll try to explain with another picture:
I want the pulldown menu marked in this picture to stretch across the entire screen - both in portrait and landscape - it looks much worse in landscape mode(Tablet is at home so I can't make another screenshot for landscape).
It would look much better that way and all toggles should be visible.

i know what you mean, my rom does the exact same, using aokp M1. It doesn't bother me though. I'm pretty sure i used Paranoid Android and you can change the DPI of almost anything with that rom.

Installed, and speed is fantastic. A little torn now because I really liked the look of the phone/browser on your launcher2, but this things speed makes it a close call. Havent found a bug yet.
This thing is blazing fast compared to Launcher2.apk. Is there a way we could get one that auto rotates like there was for the G1/MT3g?

Clock in taskbar cab?

Hey,
Sorry if there has been posts on this subject already but I was wondering if there was a cab to put a clock in the taskbar? This would be useful as when you're not on the home screen you can't see the time
Thanks

Yes mate - it's native functionality, so you don't need a cab or 3rd party app.
Go to the settings tab, menu, all settings, clock & alarms, more (tab).
There's an option in there to display the clock in the title bar in all apps.
Hope that helps
Thanks for the replies
Never knew about the built in clock feature but that gives the problem that you can't see the battery, which is kinda annoying cause there's plenty of room for them both!

The BattClock can do all at one time!
You can additionally add the date/free memory in a third row, give various colors for battery states and so on...

Perfect app!!! thanks for share.
Transparent?
I was thinking... can you make it transparent in edges? or something.. Its not a problem when you use the phone, but if you lock it(turn off the screen) and open it again(in lock mode) you can see the edges of it.. a bit sad but anyway nice app!
Use the config (icon in main start menu) and use X (horisontal) Y (vertical) to move it
..
well its not it... THe background when you are in the start menu and such, is going up to the screen edge, not to the edge where the clock, battert etc are.
Not sure if I know what you're talking about or if you even made a try, it works fine here and does not overlay anything after I moved it using the config.
This is such a great thing, not turning back now.

Okay, that's working well... but I use DJC Taskbar Leo 6.5 with this very nice round battery icon... and I would like to have both - battery + clock, but this battery icon + clock... any ideas?
Are there any alternatives to using Battclock and Dutty's taskbar mods? I don't like how battclock has a background that masks over the stock icons, and has to adjust to the changing colors. I also don't want the icons sets used in Dutty's mod. I just want to see stock batt icon and stock clock in the taskbar. Like this:

Is it possible to add this mod to stock ROM? Or is it only availible for custom ROMs?
There seems to be no way to put both clock and battery unless you flash a ROM so can someone please make a toggle switch instead for clock and battery? It will be useful to have clock when using apps and you know you have a charged battery. It is just too many clicks to get to the Clock settings if you want it to show.

Yes, looks very well.
I like Glass Status Bars.
Really don't know, why google means to take a coloured one.
With Glass Style, display looks bigger and better.
Cool!
Thank you man!
I am your student
I think google was afraid that notifications and icons will not appear with some wallpapers if they are the same color, but with those green little ones it will be difficult
That looks so cool. Really great work.
Would it be possible to use also in CM7 nightlies?
Edit: Just tried it and it works and looks just great. Thx!!
One question left: How can I set the wallpaper that it fits to the transparent status bar? It's just a black bar cause the wallpaper end right under the status bar. I hope, you know what I mean
Are you sure your wallpaper is 960x800?
You should use ADW and disable wallpaper hack too
Didn't know, where i could find the setting for the wallpaper-hack. Finally found it. Thanks!
So you tried it with CM7 nightlies and it worked?
Yes, i'm running cm7 nightly #18. It works great on it. Really looks nice

I just flashed the latest nightly #29 and found a problem.
When I connect the usb-cable, it shows me, that there occured a problem to connect the sd-card as a mass storage. Pulling down the status bar and clicking on it, it ends with a FC:
"The application Status Bar(process com.android.systemui) closed unexpected. Please try again."
After that, the statusbar disappears.
Any idea?
The screenshots are in german, but i tried to translate as good as possible
Edit: found one more thing. The control buttons on the top of the notification does not appear.
Confirmed
I just tried it on Nazforex 2-2-11 build and it did the same thing force close and then bar dissapeared. Bummer, I was stoked about this to. Also gave wierd status bar thing about sd card not usable.
Doesn't sound good, so nothing changed...still a no-go on cm_nightlies.

[Q] Strange display size in [CM10.1 AOSP 4.2.1 Jellybean]

Hi all, I'm new in this forum...but i follow it from a long time.
Now, I've a question about last "CM10.1 AOSP 4.2.1 Jellybean"; as you can se in the attached image I have some problem in the display size of my Sensation.
It leaves too much span on the top and on the bottom of icon's space, and I don't know how to solve this problem (for example you can see that the play music widget is cut in the lower part).
Thanks a lot.

Ok, I've tried this way...but unfortunately not works!
From the First post in the CM0.1 thread, near the bottom:
If your homescreen doesnt look right (icons not layed out right) go to System Settings>Launcher>homescreen click Stretch screens. Then choose grid size and set row
This fixed it for me.

I've already done this trick...but doesen't work. It's a pity because this rom works better than others on my phone.
Have you tried to put some widget on the bottom of the screen too? Can you see it correctly?
Hi,
Have you tried a different launcher?
I use Lightning Launcher, and I can stretch my icons to whatever size I want.

I've used Go Louncher but it makes the phone a bit slowlier.
The only reason of my question is that in the rom's screenshots the icons' position is correct.
Try Nova Launcher

Press and hold the widgets to resize them.
It is possible to allocate more area to the widget.
This is just how the launcher works; if you don't like it, you should switch to a different one.
It's not fair to ask the developer to recode the app just because it doesn't work well for you.

I am not sure if we can make them that transparent - even when the values set to 100% transparency it looks like 30% tinted =( At least i could not make it more transparent
I don't know if fully transparent is possible, not sure if it's values + resources that make the softs like that, but the icons sure yea

I also use a lot of extra (tasker, launcher gestures, lighflow, lmt, udn, various widgets) without troubles. Check what app are the most memory hungry and greenify or replace them.
FYI I tested a few fullscreen/navbar replacement and UDN not only appeared to me to be the most practical, but it is also very well coded, using an average of 4,5 mo on my system :good:
Oh, and i forgot to add, I use InfiniRom by Arman.
