msm-dcvs governor battery life - HTC One SV

hi guys,
I recently switched to msm-dcvs governor, and I'm noticing a great improvement in battery life! It's included in stock kernel, so give it a try

Don't smartmax give a pretty bad performance in games?

For energy conservation, I recommend using Smartmax. For other - ondemand.

[Q] Kernels

Hey all,
I am new to the Android community. I just rooted my Nexus and flashed the Oxygen rom on it. It comes with the Netarchy kernel 1.3.5.(has awesome battery life) On the forums i noticed a lot of people posting about a trinity uv kernel for oxygen. Can anyone explain the difference between the kernels. Will changing the kernel affect my battery life?. And there is a new netarchy, should i update it to the latest version or just use the one which comes with the rom.. I am really a novice here, So any help would be appreciated. .
Try both out and see which one you like better.
You can undervolt using Netarchy as well. You can either use SetCPU or Proton Voltage Control to undervolt.

Do these kernels overclock the sgx540 gpu?
If so by how much?

overclocks CPU not GPU
But people saying the trinity kernel also overclocks the gpu which explains high quadrant. Also for galaxy s kernels they say 1500mhz for cpu equals 250mhz for the gpu and they have the same hardware.

Nexus S Scheduler/Govenor Matr1x

Hey Guys,
I have a Nexus S running the Matr1x 17.5 kernel. There are a ton of Scheduler and Governor choices. I was wondering what combination of the two will get the best battery life?
Thanks.

hi. i'm using smartassV2 governor, cfq scheduler and deep idle on - everuthing works great and i get over a day and a half.
cheers
hit thanks if u wan't.
There is a thread testing governors and scheduler combinations somewhere on here and from what I remember the best combinations were smartassv2 with noop if you play alot of music etc with screen off and ondemand with deadline if you have the screen on alot.
Sent from me to you via the tinternet thingamebob.
There are two threads to look into.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1478406
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1507204
But it really depends how you use your phone and every phone behaves a little differently and it also comes down to your Rom+Kernel combo.
Personally I use Matr1x cfs 17.5 + CNA 1.4 - Ondemand/deadline 200/1000 for screen on and
lulzactive with custom settings 200/800 w/ deep idle and noop for screen off.
You just have to play around a bit and see what suits you.
Good luck!

mmm v8 I don't remember the max clock
anyway
As cpu clock u can set what u want, use 300-1000 or 300-1100 (or 1200?) is same, because your phone will run @ 1100-1200 only for a little time (check with cpuspy)
as governor, uc kernel has a lot of governor but the most popular is smartass v2, I use it too, other good solution is interactive...
another important point is the IO scheduler, here there are 1 best solution, SIO.
Best battery life governors- scary, lionheart, interactiveX(scary is the best to me, followed by lionheart)
Best battery life scheduler-bfq
Best performance governor-performance, smartass v2(I think?)
Best performance scheduler-sio, deadline
Cheers

I think all the bugs are in the OP, the major ones being no camera, no hardware decoders for videos and some people experience stutters while playing music like me.
Cheers

CPU Governor for battery

I have installed a kernel and the application to support it (Kernel Adiutor). I want to know what CPU Governor i should use. I don't play games much just some small games with low graphics (bottle flip extreme). I don't want It lag like those old Samsung phones. It should be smooth.
I am currently on darkness.
I have given the screenshot of the CPU Governor available.
Wrong section!
----
I recommend the "Chill" governor or "Lionfish"

There is no way of saying... performance vs lag is trade off and the only way to know what works best for you would be to test them... I would start with one of the Intelliactive variants then Lionfish.

If you delete the kernel settings app? Generally yes.

governor

Hi all!
Do you think that op6 will nave eas governor?
CPU governor? Gonna have to wait for root and then probably quite a while after that to figure that one out.
It does have EAS. https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/8lfo0z/oneplus_6_eas/
