I rooted my Motorola Charm with superoneclick 1.7, or atleast I thought I did. superoneclick 1.7 did say the rooting was succesful and I have superuser installed.
But when using Link2SD it says I didn't have root access. So I checked with Root Checker and apparantly Link2SD is correct. This is what Root Checker has to say:
Root Access is not properly configured or was not granted.
Alternate su binary location:
/sbin/suermission denied
SU binary not found in the system delcared PATH
Does anyone know what could be the issue? And if not, then would anyone know what is the safest way to proceed from here? I already have superuser and superoneclick says it is Rooted, I'm not sure what would happen if I were to root it again.
I had the same problem with my Milestone, rooted it using AndRoot. I used Superuser to update the su binaries, but still nothing. Then a simple reboot fixed it
My Milestone2 rooted successfully by SuperOneClick 1.3 ,
you can use the 1.3 version to root

Edit: after a second reset it worked! Thank you very much!
I have found a alternative root superuser method from ChainsDD and its working on our device.
Some users have reported that 4cyl turbo nos doesnt work well with our root superSU, so i tried ChainsDD superuser signed zip and it worked.
The difference is SuperSU is from Chainfire and Superuser is from ChainsDD https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5ub3NodWZvdS5hbmRyb2lkLnN1Il0.
The original link is here http://androidsu.com/superuser/
The only thing is you have to install busybox manually from playstore after the root method https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsInN0ZXJpY3Nvbi5idXN5Ym94Il0.
Download Superuser
Install method:
Same as Shaaan root method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087424
How to :
1. Download the zip and place it in the root of your sd card.
PS : SD Card is a must.
2. Reboot to the stock recovery.
3. Select install update from external storage.
4. Select the Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip file.
5. Viola

Please test and report, as i remember, on gingerbread i had some issues with superSU but superuser worked good and some user have reported that without root the phone is working well with no lags, maybe is just a placeboo effect.
Lol. The problem with 4cyl isn't my root method! It's the su app.
Root using my method and change the su app. 4cyl will work fine..

yes, i was speaking generic, the superSU is causing problems not the method itself.
i have edited the post to be more specific. i wanted to share this already sign zip so it will be more convenient for users
i rooted my phone using this method. When i am trying to set default action as allow always, the apps are not getting superuser permissions!
although if it is set as prompt, i can grant superuser permissions.
Rom-DDULP8
Kernel-CoCore-E 6.2
Hit thanks if I helped!

Hello, Im new to rooting and I recently rooted my alcatel one touch 918n or I thought I did. I installed a root checker app on google play then it said I was rooted then I looked at the details and it stated that I had some sort of busybox file but no su file or such I tried using titanium back but it said cannot find su binary. Then I tried SuperSU then it said su binary not found and we cannot install it. Any suggestions in installing the.su binary folder or should I try rooting again? Thanks if you reply info info and suggestions help a lot.

Hey Guys!
Before creating this thread, I've gone through the related posts of 'Updating SU Binary' but did not find the suitable response. So I'm asking about that Whenever I tried to update the binary over internet, it "Failed" at 'Gaining Root Access' But I'm quite sure that my Explorer has been rooted.
Please tell me how to update it and what are the advantages of updating binary?
I've 'Root Explorer' installed in my device.
Please refer to the "Attached Thumbnail".
Thanks a lot.
install root checker app frm playstore and check if ur phn rooted properly if not you have to try updated supersu.zip to root your phn i did the same
I did install Root Checker and it confirms that my phone is rooted.
Could anyone here can provide me the latest binary file link ... Please tell me the advantages of installing latest binary files? What if I won't update it?
Thanks Again.

Flash this zip file from your recovery(cwm or twrp).

After Install recovery,backup your ROM.

Try super SU instead. Updating binary is hell lot easier than cwm superuser. Try googling flashable super su. It's the best , I would say.
I am gonna show you guys how its done real quick and with simple steps . The option to root the device with cf auto root process may result in boot loop/brick.
This process however needs kingo app :-
Steps : 1) Root your device with kingo root .
2)Kingo root can be done without the need of pc. Download the android version. (source : google.com)
3)Now as you've rooted with Kingo app , you will be flooded with kingo bloatwares. So to replace it with Su Super User follow next step.
4) Download Supersume app from google and run program.
5) It will replace your kingo app and binary files with Super SU. Uninstall any remaining kingo apps.
6) Reboot . And Boom !!! youre done .
