[Q] Bootloop when updating to CM11 M2 - HTC One S

Hey guys,
I just tried updating my tmobile htc one s from CM10.2 to the today's CM11 M2 snapshot. After wiping cache, flashing the ROM and gapps, and flashing the new boot.img, I was stuck in a bootloop on the screen with the white HTC logo. Updating CWM recovery to 6.0.4.5, as recommended in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2528113&highlight=status+7), yielded the same results. I am still able to access fastboot and recovery, and my hboot is 2.15. Could someone help me properly install the ROM? Thanks in advance

cwm has some issues and does't work properly as far as i know. you can give a shut to twrp from the same thread

HI

If you are S-ON then you will have to install 4ext recovery (search for it )
boot into 4ext recovery >tools>scroll down> enable smart flash
and now flash the rom you want
remember make a clean instillation(wipe everything except sdcard before installing the rom)
after installation wipe dalvick + cache
reboot
your done the phone might boot
first boot takes upto 10 mins

[Q] Constant soft reboot at welcome screen, tried multiple custom ROMs

I bought a used htc sensation (TMOUS) from ebay and immediately rooted and s-off'd (using the stickied toolkit, and revolutionary.io respectively). I then updated my firmware to 3.33 and used clockwork recovery to install the CyanogenMod 10.1 Jellybean 4.2.2 - KANG. The ROM would load but it would freeze and soft reboot at the welcome screen, after I selected my language. I tried again with the PAC-man ROM and experienced the same problem. Then I tried again with Cyanogenmod 9.1 and this time the phone would lock up if I tried to pull down the notification bar or use any apps. In one of the ROM threads I saw that it might be an issue with the radio, so I tried an variety of radios but still have the same results or occasionally the ROM will get stuck at the boot animation. I'm currently using firmware 3.32 (downgraded to see if that would help), hboot 1.27.1100 and radio 11.23.3504.07 M2. Any ideas on why my phone just refuses to boot up?
Hi
Greetings,
Try ARHD or stock Rom and check

You may also try the installation using 4Ext touch recovery.
It seems Recovery is the culprit
Change it to 4EXT

I tried flashing 4EXT using the multitool and for some reason the phone entered a bootloop when I tried to boot in to recovery. I then tried flashing the TWRP recovery image through the multitool and it worked! After formatting everything and reinstalling the PAC-man ROM, I was finally able to get past that welcome screen. I bought this phone as a gift for a friend, and it is blowing my mind that this rom makes this 2 year old phone have newer features than my galaxy s3! Thank you again for all the help!!

[Q] Viper XL to CM10 ROM

Hey guys,
I decided to make the transition over to CM, however I'm having boot loop issues with CM10. Here's the steps that I've taken in order to flash the ROM (what I though was properly):
Download CM10 Stable for HTC One XL
Wipe Cache and Davlik Cache
Factory Reset
Install CM10 .zip from TWRP 2.3.3
Flash boot img using TN WIN Boot Installer
However, as I've previously stated, I'm stuck on the CM boot logo. Any suggestions, I'm at a loss?
Thanks.
Solved the problem. I had to flash the boot img BEFORE flashing the ROM. Mistake on my part.
Mods -- feel free to delete this thread.
Thanks.
It should make no difference if you flash before or after.

probably you are on S-ON am i right?
if yes use 4ext recovery
enable smatflash from it
flash the rom
done
otherwise flash the boot.img of the rom via fastboot command
My device is S-OFF.
I am trying to flash firmware again, and clear cache and dalvik.

Most of the time there is no need to re-flash firmware. Did you wipe data beforehand? maybe you can try another build (the from an earlier/later date). This might help.
Sometimes a complete wipe is needed...
Hi,
Sometimes when moving from one ROM to another a complete wipe and format of all partitions (except sdcard) is needed in order for it to work. Have you wiped and formatted all your partitions before flashing the ROM? I use Titanium pro to backup my apps before doing this.
You should be able to do this with any of the recovery programs. 4EXT is really good and easy to use for this. Also, if you don't already know this, you should flash the correct GAPPS for your ROM after you install the update. That way you will have everything you need on your first boot after your flash.
Good luck!
when i updated my firmware from 3.32 to 3.33 i got stuck at the same screen. Just booted to recovery and used 4EXT Recovery touch to wipe cache and dalvik, after that everything was fine

After you downloaded the Oxygen zip did you extract it as per the Oxygen install instructions? The zip that you download contains another zip, which is the flashable zip, that's the one that you flash with your custom recovery. So if you didn't do that that's your problem, do that and then boot back into your custom recovery using the power + volume down button combination, copy the flashable zip to your phone and flash it.
