After you downloaded the Oxygen zip did you extract it as per the Oxygen install instructions? The zip that you download contains another zip, which is the flashable zip, that's the one that you flash with your custom recovery. So if you didn't do that that's your problem, do that and then boot back into your custom recovery using the power + volume down button combination, copy the flashable zip to your phone and flash it.

please help i tried rooting my Nexus S

hey guys i tried rooting my nexus s and now when trying to boot up the phone im stuck at the google boot screen with the unlocked padlock at the bottom. i can get into clockwork recovery and i flashed super user but i cant get onto android OS is there anyone who can help me please?
Have u installed a rom from zip?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Also, you should specify which nexus S version you tried to root and which guide you followed.
jj, u need to flash new ROM of your choice from zip file under CWR.
The reason why u stuck on the Google screen is cos when u rooted and unlocked the boot loader u also erase all data including the stock ROM. But u should know that cos its mentioned in every root & bootloader unlock procedure
So just go into Nexus S Android Development where u can find and download the ROM of your choice.
After just boot into CWR and install the ROM from .zip file.
U will find whole procedure how to flash it under every ROM thread.

Unlocking the bootloader doesn't erase the existing os..it just wipes all the data and apps. It would still boot into the stock Android image until he flashes a custom ROM.

Rooting & bootloader unlocking procedure wipe EVERYTHING from the phone or am I wrong ?

No. It wipes the sd and all user data. It has the same effect as using stock recovery to do a factory reset.

I can no longer get into clockwork recovery...

I am on brainmasters miui rom, and whenever I try to go into recovery the phone just gets stuck on the Google logo and doesn't move, forcing me to pull the battery. I have tried reflashing the recovery numerous times and idk what to do from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

+1
I also made the experience that flashing recovery through rom manager doesn't always work...had the same problem, also using brainmaster's MIUI rom.

I got the same problem after flashing the Clockworkmod 5.0. Then I flashed the 4.0x version (found in the rooting guide on XDA) and it's now working smoothly

You should make sure you are erasing the old recovery before flashing a new one. This can be done as a fastboot command or through the advanced options in rom manager.

[Help] Problem With ROMs after Factory Reset

So I have the LG Optimus V and was running a custom Stock ROM. I was going to give it to a friend to use so decided to use the factory reset in the phone...whoops.
I'm using ClockworkMod Recovery v3.2.0.0 and every time I try to install a ROM from the zip file on it it just goes back to Clockwork after a reboot.
I've tried using the ROMs listed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/LG_Optimus_V/ROMs (besides MIUIv4 and LeWa Port) to no avail. I just keep rebooting back into recovery after it says it was a successful install.
I've also tried getting into a workaround using fastboot but I believe the condition my phone is in right now won't allow it. I can't boot up to the fastboot recovery and other issues have arised.
So is there anything I can do or am I boned?
Thanks for reading and any feedback

Are there any other recoveries for your phone
AFAIK new ROMs don't support Clockwork Mod 3.2
Try updating the recovery to the latest one available i.e maybe 4.x for your Optimus V
This problem happened to me some months ago
I reflashed the recovery using terminal emulator

Use this guide to setup fastboot. Then download the factory image to your computer. Use fastboot to install it and any other future roms.

My friend, you don't use fastboot to flash "ROMs".
Sorry woke up 5min before writing that. Running on 4hrs sleep now. Meant use fastboot to install stock image, flash a recovery. Then use custom recovery to flash future roms. Just pointing him in the right direction. With a little reading, he'll figure it out.

[Completed] Won't boot into recovery

Hey there, so I'm a newbie at this and I have already rooted my Xperia V and the bootloader is unlocked. It's not updated to the latest Firmware, it's running Android 4.3. Anyways, I installed some sorts of ROM applications (ROM Installer and ROM Manager). I checked the recovery mode to TWRP and when I clicked boot into recovery, the phone would boot up normally. I tried booting it myself with various combinations but the phone won't boot into recovery. I don't know what to do, can anyone help me out?

Hello,
You need to flash kernel using FlashTool.
You can't flash kernel using any app.
I hope this worked for you.
Good Day.
