Call / Message blacklisting similar to CM & Slim Roms directly accessible from call settings in the Dailer App. :good:
There are apps to do so, but inbuilt feature outperforms them in speed and simplicity.
Is there a plan to implement it in the future?
Thank you devs for your work.
Greetings Puneet.
I'd second this. Take back part of what a phone should be.

Thanks for the link but I've tried them all and even root call blocker's fastest option of killing process at system level on a call arrival. Trust me, none of them are as fast and efficient as inbuilt feature.
I'll also second this option. The inbuilt ones like Slim and CM works seamlessly. It is one less app to install as well!
+1.
Thanks.
there is already someone working on it.
unfortunately, he doesn't have much time to do it, as he stated.
you can check the progress here:
https://gerrit.omnirom.org/5009
and on 5010-5012
Ability to choose not only OpenStreetMaps but also Google along with other variants (both Forward and Reverse lookup) in the Dailer App Search like Slim Roms just introduced in there RC3 would be awesome. :good:

Seriously this is a much needed feature in Omnirom. And Google is really did a crappy job by not including this in hangouts or dialer app by default.

Remember the pre-smartphone era? Each phone included this function. No wonder CM corrected Googles omission.

Will the developers be able to fix up the mess that HTC made of multitasking on this phone once the kernel source is released? It is the one thing that is making me want to return this phone.

neither of those are complete, not daily drivers as of yet, need source then they will be great alternatives.
As far as fixing the MT issue, hard to say. I'd say that once we get source that someone will be able to do something with it ..hopefully..
I'm using cm9 alpha 4 and the multitasking is very improved. I'm impressed with this ROM for not having kernel source everything is very smooth.

Basically every custom rom has multitasking fixed, and there's also scroslers multitasking mod, as someone already mentioned.

I'd say AOPK (M6.1) is just fine as a daily driver. It's stable and everything important works. (wifi, data, bluetooth, etc). Multitasking is great on it.

Has it really been fixed or just improved? Does it still kill an app after a certain amount of time? I was under the impression that multitasking was just improved greatly, and only greatly depending on your usage. Works well for some scenarios and not at all for others... Android is killing apps after a certain amount of time no matter what. Probably fixable completely after source though..

Using the Multitasking Mod is an improvement, but by no means fixed. Read up on another thread that the S4 SOC is a little memory hungry too. Hopefully we can claw back some of that RAM while still keeping things stable once the source is released (damn you AT&T).

I realize there are things that still don't work but I have always been under the impression that to be considered a daily drive a ROM must be stable and have mostly everything working. AOKP fits that category. Of course if there is a feature not yet working that is important to an individual then the ROM is not yet ready for that person but in any case when all major functions are working as well as the majority of features I'd say it can be called a daily driver. Wasn't trying to call you out.

MOD EDIT: DO NOT FLASH THE FILE IN THAT ARTICLE, IT IS FOR INTERNATIONAL S3 ONLY!
I can't wait to see what the ROM devs do with this!
Includes some of the non hardware based goodies that the S4 has.
" New features include a familiar array of lock screen widgets and unlock effects, new display modes, a re-tooled quick settings area in the notification pull-down, a new driving mode and an updated version of the S Voice assistant app. Some of the headline Galaxy S4 features like "Air view" hover-touch abilities aren't included -- that's because they're dependent on the S4's internal hardware."

While AOSP is more cutting edge, I like simple functions like Bluetooth volume working correctly as it does on TW.

I'm saying ktoonz does have a tw version of his kernel if that's what you prefer. You could try using the ViPER4Android app and mess with the settings to clean that up. I'm sure someone in that thread could point you to good settings. In not sure if fauxsound amplifies BT, but you could try that as well.

Just wanted to point you in the right direction to fix your Bluetooth issue either through ktoonz's touchwiz kernel, fauxsound app, or ViPER4Android app. You may need to tweak the settings a bit to your liking as i don't know how severe your issue is. Could be the phone hardware, a software issue, a rom issue, or the Bluetooth headset itself causing it. It's not something that's easy to troubleshoot online. Sorry if i lost you, I'm a bit sleep deprived. Sorry if I was vague or rude. On that note, bedtime. Hope you get your issue resolved.

I've never had the Bluetooth issue with a TW ROM, only AOSP.
Thank you for the insight though. Get some rest.
So once the International version gets the official update, we can probably expect to see it 3 or 4 months later thanks to Verizon.

I wish Verizon would leak more updates. Other phones I have had in the past had new roms almost every week. The Galaxy S3 has been a big disappointment in factory updates, released hardware, and support. Once Samsung neglected to release a decent wireless charge option and Verizon cold shouldered its users, I don't think I'll go back to Samsung. I miss my HTC.

Hello. May I present to you the single most amazing ROM present on XDA. A combination of the two most customizable ROMs existent. And it wasn't even built from source. I must give credit where credit is due by thanking jb2kred for PA for tate and the MIUI team for their great customizations... Screenshots in next post. ToDo and Bugs in third post.
I used the MiHome application from the MIUI team for the launcher and included the AppDrawer for MIUI application from the Google Play Store for your convenience. Also thanks to apooonet (here at XDA) for the ported MIUI Notes app.
And here is the link to download.
The update on 6/28 includes a better MIUI theme and added HALO.
After you flash, apply the theme in settings to get the same experince pictured in the screenshots.
I added the "Pro7o Toolbox" app (I made it )to assist with audio issues. Just open Pro7o Toolbox and hit "Quick Reboot". Audio problems solved!
Note: For GApps, just use PA GApps.

Okay. Thanks for letting me know! I'll try to fix up an update by the end of tomorrow. Eliminating large update files will turn out being fun.
How I plan on doing it:
For those who installed the ROM already, each update you will need to download a small (few mb) update that you will flash over the ROM and it would minimize the time needed to update.
For those without, just download ROM and update, flash in that order.
EDIT: Disregard this post. TWRP is serving me errors on a plate. I will have to resort the standard method of updating ROMs.

You're VERY welcome! I hope you enjoy it! Do please bear in mind though that it IS just in the Beta stages and will get better & better all the time. Also, as a major feature all the little quirks that existed in my original port of CarbonROM seem to have been stomped on by $Droid$. The FC's that popped up from time to time for no apparent reason and the fact that I couldn't get e-mail working in the last are finally GONE. Plus, 1080p video is cranking along smoothly now too as well as flawless PIE. It's a GREAT ROM and I believe everyone is going to like it MUCH better this time. He is a fantastic developer and I'm always pleased to be able to share his work with everyone. ENJOY! :good:
actually could you tell me what carbon ROM is exactly? all i really know is that it formed from liquidsmooth, and it's one of the few ROMs that was given early access to PA/HALO, and it's a lot like PA.

If you will use your file manager and go into system/apps & delete Google calendar you can then reinstall your normal 4.2.2 Gapps over the top of everything. That will put it back to normal & syncing the way it should. Evidently something got corrupted in the original Google Calendar when It was preinstalled. This procedure will replace it.

Just a few things I noticed while playing around, the dark carbon toggle doesn't do anything haha, the two stage camera doesn't actually take the pic just the halfway point makes it focus (touching the blue shutter onscreen is fine though), and Settings > Storage FC's.. But nonetheless daily driver fosho!

Yeah, sorry, I'll try to get up a fix for that today. Just turn off the hardware KB in settings/Lang-KB and it'll work normally until you reboot. It'll save the proper state from a nandroid though.

I noticed the toggle is really light anyway but won't work at all from a theme.

I was wondering if anyone found a good messaging app that worked with Halo. So far hangouts is the only one that works reliably for me. AOSP messaging works until I click a contact thread and it switches into the full app. Textra and 8sms open the full app when I try to open them through halo. Oddly enough other messaging programs like kik work fine. Is this just the state of halo on kitkat roms, or something that app developers need to change? Thanks for any help.

Halo is a recent port to KitKat since pa hasn't implemented their official halo yet. Operability should get better as development continues.

Might check out this little app:

@jwhyte Thanks I figured it was a development issue. @es0tericcha0s I hadn't heard of this, looks great!

Yea, pretty cool idea. I didn't end up using it very much because I prefer the banner notifications that are an option with the app: LockerPro Lockscreen as they are less intrusive for every day use.
