I received a Traveltek CA908 tablet as a Christmas gift this year and I have not seen much information on it anywhere. I am starting this thread as a repository of information. Feel free to contribute.
First, the specs:
CPU: ARM A20 Dual-Core Cortex A7 1.0Ghz
GPU: Quad-core ARM Mali 400 MP
Operating system: Android 4.2.2 JB
RAM: 1G DDR3
Nand Flash: 4GB
Memory Card: Micro-SD (SDHC, supports up to 32GB)
Display Screen: 9.7inch TFT LCD 1024x768
WIFI: 802.11 b/g/n
I/O Ports: 1x micro USB port, 1x host micro USB port, Micro-SD (SDHC), 3.5mm stereo out, 1080p HDMI out, DC 5V in
Speaker: 8Ω/1W, 1 speaker
Mic: Built-in
Cameras: Front 300K pixels, Rear 2MP
Battery: 3.7V/5500mAh, (4 hours work time)
Net weight: 550g
Size: 240.5*189.5*10MM
I'm also pretty sure this was bought from a home shopping channel in the USA.
Official user manual from Traveltek here (too large to upload)
Recovery mode was somewhat difficult to figure out. The volume buttons do not move the highlight; instead, slide a finger up/down on the "No command" message to move the highlight down/up. Pressing the power button or touching around the "No command" message will choose the highlighted option. Figuring this out took lots of trial and error.
The bootloader seems to be unlocked by default.
I was able to root the device by using Lannig's "utoo-root-signed.zip" file that can be found here.
Direct link here
Don't forget to thank Lannig. This download was blocked by Google Chrome as a malicious file, but all scans came up negative on the .zip and its contents.
To install:
Download file > copy to Micro-SD card > put Micro-SD in tablet > boot into recovery mode > load from TF > choose utoo-root-signed.zip > reboot tablet
I have not found any custom ROMs written specifically for this tablet.
Reset?
Hi
I have another model of the same brand. I put a password in but forgot what it is and is trying to do a factory reset. I tried using power button and Vol+but it didn't work. Do you have another way to do a factory reset? Thanks for your time.

You will need to enter into recovery mode to reset to factory settings. Turn the tablet completely off, hold the power and Vol+ buttons until the tablet boots into recovery mode, move the highlight to "wipe data/factory reset", then press the power button to select it. You will then need to go down the list to highlight "Yes" and press the power button again to choose it.
After completing the above steps your screen will say "Reset Complete". Once this message pops up, select "Reboot system now" (again, to take the option, press your power button once it is highlighted) and you will be brought back into the Android OS.
These steps are no different from all other Android devices. If you still have trouble after reading the above information, search for "Android recovery mode factory reset" on youtube for video tutorials.

Just a Question:
Has this tablet a GPS Module?
I get into recovery fine but than my volume buttons dont move the highlighted selection. My volume buttons work for everything else
---------- Post added at 08:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:59 PM ----------
nevermind, i read better, lol
Thanks for the help. I was following the on-screen instructions with the volume button with no success at all. The screen swiping worked.
Unfortunately, I'm fixing this tablet for a customer and the screen is a bit cracked. It's a quite thick plastic screen, so it doesn't completely fail. It took a lot of finesse, stroking and feeling uncomfortable with my life choices to get around that.

From what I can tell, this tablet does not have a GPS module.

Within 2 months of almost no use the battery had expanded so badly that the back panel started to snap off. I haven't tried doing anything with it since I tossed the battery.
All phones I have had in the past 4 years have been better and faster than this tablet.
Didi anybody bother to develop a custum rom for this piece of s##t table ?
Any rom or stock firmware?

Hey guys, I recently bricked my tablet by fiddling around with the "format SD card" option in the settings menu. I thought I was formatting a secondary SD (which I later found out wasn't even installed) and it looks like I formatted the system SD card instead. The thing now hangs at a black screen with "A N D R O I D _" displayed at the top left hand corner.
Here is the tablet itself:
http://www.cectunlocked.com/9.7-Inc...2-WiFi-Android-Market-Camera-800MHz-Apad.html
Scroll down a bit to see all the system specs.
Could anyone point me in the right direction to find a proper ROM and flash utility for this tablet. There seem to be so many clones out there and it's a bit overwhelming. Not sure which one is which. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Ok, how about recovery mode? I've tried powering on with the power+home buttons held down, but nothing.

Hi there,
Just updating this forum to mention that this firmware 'ov-tb-02' both Red and Blue editions not only do not function on a HipStreet Vektor HS-7DTB3-4GB, but they will also DISABLE your micro SD card slot, rending re-flashing IMPOSSIBLE.
On another subject, the Dmde software that your post introduced me to is FAR superior to having to use the 3 softwares of SD Formatter, WinHex and IUW to accomplish the same thing. Thank you for that.
For those who wish to obtain the Dmde software, visit the OverMax page mentioned above, change the language to English, go to Support, select ov-tb-02, and the smallest of the 3 files available for download has the Dmde software included (the software is in English, but the how-to guide is in Polish...luckily the writers used clear images for each step, which makes the process simple enough).
Hello there,
I bought this tablet 2 weeks ago, everything is fine but the WIFI
It keeps disconnecting or does not connect at all.
What should I do ,pls help
It has android on it only ,no windows
TIA
Hello, I have the following problems with the purchased tablet Chuwi Hi9 Air Black 64GB MediaTek Helio X23 (MT6797D) 2,31 GHz.
1. The belts will appear from time to time when using the camera.
2. After starting the tablet and turning off the screen (by briefly pressing the button), the screen can no longer be switched on again. It is necessary to hold the button longer and restart the tablet.
3. When using the device, the self-restart has been repeated several times.
4. Instead of white, the screen shows a green color. I adjusted the colors as best as I could.
Videos and photos about the problems I have described can be found here: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1RxXYozK5Sh9V9Nts3lNGP17nBCTmgTyL?usp=sharing
I thought that after some time of use described problems will disappear. Unfortunately, they are still there. Returning to factory settings also did not solve problems. The tablet has the latest updates downloaded from the internet.
Can you help me solve the problems?
Tom
Greetings,
I have an issue with a tablet (Azpen A745) which never booted properly again after an AC power failure. The specs for this tablet are as follows:
Model: Azpen A745CPU
Brand: AllwinnerCPU
Speed: 1.3GHz
CPU Type: A33CPU
Core: Quad-Core
Operating System: Android 4.4 Kit Kat
Memory Type: DDR2
Total Memory: 512MB
Capacity Flash Memory: 4GB
Display: 800x480
Display Size: 7"
A little more detail about the symptoms. I only used this tablet as an instrument tuner which was on full time in my recording studio and was always loaded so anytime I needed to tune any instrument, it was ready to go. When I came back into the studio after the power outage, I noticed it was stuck on the logo screen. So I attempted a long power press to reboot. It did after about 5 seconds and just went back into the Azpen boot logo. I then realized, once I tried to power it off, it wasn't possible to power off because if I long-press the power button, once it powers off, no matter what I do it powers right back on and is stuck at the logo again. I've also watched videos on how to get it to boot into recovery and all I get is stuck at the boot logo again, nothing more.
I then connected it to my PC so see if it was able to be detected and it comes up in device manager as "USB Developer" under Other devices - so something is detected, just not the correct hardware apparently. I've tried numerous USB drivers to see if I can get it recognized in ADB, no luck. ADB doesn't see it.
I've searched high and low for anything regarding this particular tablet, and can't find anything anywhere except a few videos on how to boot into recovery which does not work. Everything I've read keeps saying I need to go into system settings and enable/disable developer options but as I said, I can't get it to boot into Kit-Kat. I'm stumped.
I'd really just like to get it back up and going so I can use the tuner app again and if possible, not have to replace it. Wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to get this thing into recovery mode if possible Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
First of all, sorry for my spelling. I'm from Argentina.
Here are some photos of the case closed and opened and the "official" specs:
https://smithmayorista.com.ar/producto/ ... -mxq-max/
Brand: MXQ MAX
4gb ram
MALI 450 MP GPU
the board is p281
CPU-Z says it have a s905X processor but i know that this brands fakes it.
I think it really is a a s905W (because after many tries) the only TWRP i could install was for that CPU (especifically for the Tanix TX3 Mini).
I also read in some place that board p281 corresponds to s905w but I'm not really sure.
I can't identify the processor by removing the heatsink because it had glue sticked on it and by trying to remove that the name got erased,
Its not the same box as the on on this post:
viewtopic.php?t=4011&sid=f4504ee67416fc ... f69e24aff
You can tell by the photos i uploaded is not the same board (no clock, different ports)
¿Is there a way i can be sure what processor do I have?
i want to try some roms becase the live straming on browsers on fullscreen is terrible
I also want to know if there is a way to enter recovery mode phiscally, in case somethig goes wrong.
it doesn have a reset button. It does have a button next to the power plug but i don't know what it does.
Nothing happens when i press it, or when i power on the box with that button pressed.
It also internally comes with a port with 4 pins (similar to the ones for webcam or fan connectors). I dont know whati s that for.
it also doesnt get recgnized by the Amlogic burning tool so i can only install twrp zips/backups
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
It may be a RockChip 3229
board. The images aren't clear enough for me to see everything on the board to give you much information.. I can give you a website that may help you with that particular unit. Along with a YouTube channel that's very insightful when it comes to the mxq boxes. Inside of the audio port where you would plug in a headphone 3.5 mm Jack if you took a q-tip cut the end off of it to where it's just the shaft of the stick if you push it in there slightly you may feel a button in there that would be the reset buttons give that a shot also you should be able to take it into recovery mode with that.

That button may be the reset button have you tried holding it down while you plug in the Box keep holding it down to see what happens you may need to do that while it's plugged into your computer hold down that button and plug it into USB port keep holding it down see if your computer recognizes it just grab the rock chip drivers along with the Phoenix drivers am logic drivers just install all the drivers and eventually a Windows machine should recognize the chip.

i didn´t try to plug the USB while i was holding it. I did try holding it down when y plug the power and nothing happens, it just boots the system normally. I´ll try that later in home and tell you if it gets recognized by windows
