9.7" Cortex a8 tablet bricked - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hey guys, I recently bricked my tablet by fiddling around with the "format SD card" option in the settings menu. I thought I was formatting a secondary SD (which I later found out wasn't even installed) and it looks like I formatted the system SD card instead. The thing now hangs at a black screen with "A N D R O I D _" displayed at the top left hand corner.
Here is the tablet itself:

Scroll down a bit to see all the system specs.
Could anyone point me in the right direction to find a proper ROM and flash utility for this tablet. There seem to be so many clones out there and it's a bit overwhelming. Not sure which one is which. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ok, how about recovery mode? I've tried powering on with the power+home buttons held down, but nothing.

HELP!! Stuck at HTC Screen

Hi all, i'm a new guy here how you all doing?!
I've registered basically because I'm in abit of a pickle and you guys seem like a nice, friendly and busy community so I thought it might be really helpful to ask here
Well basically I decided to just sell on my hero. It's on ebay and I thought right I better factory reset it. Now I was buggering about in the settings I stupidly, as I just found out, wiped the SD card and then I finally found the factory reset bit. I'm rooted on Villianrom since I bought it and I thought I'll just try resetting it and see what happens.
I pressed reset and then I was at some sort of recovery villianrom menu, I used the trackball and clicked on 'reboot phone' now It keeps just rebooting and not getting past the white HTC screen. I've googled it and it's a common problem people are getting when they're pissing about with roms.People reply saying do this do that and I haven't a clue what theyre on about I've only had the bloody phone barely 2 days.
I've got a feeling there's like nothing actually on the phone, no rom or os thing
I've tried doing a reset thing where I keep hold of menu, end call and back and it goes to a different screen and I press menu I think to reset it but still the same thing, stuck at the HTC quietly brilliant screen
Because my sd card is wiped I need to access it somehow and put on some rom file things I'm guessing?
It's on ebay, it needs to be working before I sell it Where from here?
It's probably a quick and easy fix if you know what you're doing so if someone knows what to do could you please please post a step by step guide for a complete n00b and I'll be eternally grateful
P.S. Sorry for having probably the douchiest intro post but there we go
I am not aware of this villain rom for hero but it sounds like to me that tried a2sd? And then wiped your sdcard, so the boot is looking for the EXT partition with all the apps on it. Whether thats even true or not, which is suspect it is, just boot into the recovery, run the .5 ruu and sell/ship your phone to the new happy owner. He/she should be given the choice of root/not-root factory phone.
I've got it working now
It basically needed a rom flashing on it. I'd just bought it like 2 days ago so I guess I taught myself how to do this stuff unwillingly I couldn't access the usb mode, because I couldn't select it to mount as disk from the menus because obviously it wasn't booting up.
So I kept hold of menu and power for abit till a menu comes up. Clicked on usb-ms and that mounted it as a disk. i put the villianrom zip file on the sd card and from the same menu on the hero I did all the different wipes and then flashzipped the rom or whatever. 10 minutes later it was up and running
Good times all round

[Q] Flytouch / superpad Android logo freeze

A few years back I purchased a Flytouch II / Superpad. Installed several custom roms and had no issues. It sat in my parts box for a while and I figured I drag it out and see what I could use it for.
Initially it booted fine (running Tim6...I think) once it was up and running it started lagging and would not respond (Screen got too hot and it stopped seeing my touches)
One of the icons on the screen was a shutdown script pre-loaded. Apparently it had pressed this, the script popped up and I tried to hit close before it shutdown, The script closed and after a little more playing I shut it off by holding the power button down, then sliding the power off slider that came up.
The next day I went to power it up and it just freezes on the android logo screen. No bootanimation, nothing.
Since I'm not shy about taking stuff apart it carefully took it apart and removed the internal sd card (4gb) and made a backup of it using dd. I then loaded an sdcard v4 image I found online, it still just hangs at the green android screen.
Also tried several "brick fixes" here on xda.
If I boot it without an sdcard it says "No Card in Machine!!!" so I think the systems is ok hardware wise.
Any ideas of other steps to take?
Got it figured out. Feel kind of silly.
Just needed to format both cards to fat32 and add the two files from tim6a back to the external card. It booted, reflashed and away it went.
Phew, thought I was going to have to rig up a touchscreen for my computer

Coby Kyros MID7127 Startup Problem

I have a Coby Kyros 7127, I cannot get it to get past the android cycle of the startup. Once the power on button is depressed, Coby appears, then it goes to android and that is where it stays... it cycles and does not go past that stage. I can depress the reset button and it resets. I can also depress the power button and sound button and it will stay on Coby, however in the bottom left corner, in blue, it says "The Device Enter Fastboot Mode, Please Connect USB To PC or Reset The Device, Waitting......."
I have watched many of the videos and cannot figure this out, I have tried many of the things online - the issue is, I cannot get the tablet to get far enough along in the boot sequence for my computer to display the tablet and run adb. This tablet is for my grandaughter and we were hoping to have it for her to use.
We would like to make it work like many of the videos state... any help is appreciated.
Were in the same boat. Here's some tips...

I am in the same boat! If you download ClockWorkMod from here on xda which you can do on this forum its the 2nd post from a guy named "the_kwa" you can save CWM on your SD card and use ADB commands to boot to into CWM. Once there you can try to do a factory reset. If that doesn't work, then you have gotten to where I am.
In short, you need to find a custom ROM for the tablet. I have scoured the interwebs trying to find one and the only place that seems to have them is a site called: Kyros Tablet Zone or KTZ. Now, if you are willing to pay $12 for a ROM from them, then your done. Tablet will be back up and running & your good.
My MID7127 is dead too. If you do decide to purchase a ROM from KTZ let me know and I'll talk you through how to install it step by step. If your willing to maybe share that rom with me and get mine going again! Let me know. bacause I was about to post this same issue until I found your post.
Either way let me know & hit the thanks button if that helped you out.

MOD EDIT: REMOVED EMAIL

Please help me reconcile some issues with rooting

So I took the plunge and tried to root a Nook 8GB today. So far I have done the following: (1) created the CWM microsd card; (2) copied the latest CM10 and Gapps roms to another microsd card.
I used thes Ray Waldo instructions for creating the cwm card:
root-nook-tablet-with-cwm-sdcard
So, I am having a problem with getting the Nook to load the CWM microsd card. It just won't start when the microsd card is in. As soon as I pull out the microsd, it starts without any problems.
I tried formatting the CWM microsd card and copying CWM again, but it hasn't changed anything.
I have a Nook 16GB. Should I try the card out on that Nook?
A couple of issues that I noticed through the process:
(1) CWM file is supposed to contain 4 files? However, part C., step 7 says "Copy all 5 items in the “CWM” folder (from item B.3 above) to the window of the new SDCard" Is this just a typo? Or is there a missing file?
(2) In Part C, step 4, after the flags have been selected, there is supposed to be a green checkmark. I see a check mark grayed out. It never goes green. (Click on the green checkmark (in the upper section of the GParted window) to execute & allow GParted to complete the action)
(3) Its not really clear to me how I am supposed to boot the nook so that it will boot off the microsd card. I understand that I am not supposed to insert the card while the nook is on because the nook will mount and write data. I have seen a couple of different versions for booting: (1) just insert the card, press power, and let it boot; or (2) hold down the power button and the N button, let go when the N on the screen goes away, and then let it boot

Step 4 reads: Turn your NOOK Tablet on. Put in the ROOT microSD card you created in Step 3 into the NOOK Tablet. Turn the Tablet off. When it’s completely off, hold the power button and the N button at the same time. Keep holding it. This is the N button: You should see the usual NOOK boot screen with the grey N in the middle of the screen. Keep holding the power and N button. When that grey N flashes off the screen you can let go. The NOOK Tablet should be off again because you were holding the power button. Turn the NOOK Tablet on. After a moment you should see a white screen with a cardboard box on it. When it finishes you’ll see a screen that says CWM-based Recovery.
Not having gotten any feedback, I decided to go for it and tried it on my 16GB nook tablet. Worked like a charm. Not a single speedbump. Maybe there is something wrong with the 8GB nook. I tried different sd cards, etc. No luck on the 8GB device.
